I'm in the States traveling with the family. Doing a US history/culture sort of thing - Washington D.C, Philly, and NYC. I'll be back in about a week :D

Have a good time...the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis (55th & 5th) and The Star Lounge at the Ritz on Central Park South are great. Take extra money though if you go.

Stuffy...but the best bartenders in NYC (Quako at King Cole and Norman at the Ritz)

Have a great time!

While we'd love to have you visit the southern and midwest states.... ummmm... best stay in those areas where the weather is more stable.

Have a great time, if you get routed to Nashville during the trip let me know. Like Mousey said you should head south.

Nothin like southern hospitality! :D

Enjoy your trip. I recently read the Dan Brown book about Washington, which made me want to book a flight and go and check all the underground tunnels and buildings. The masons certainly did a good job with that city!

Don't forget about the Mid-Hudson Valley! Take I-87 North and get off at exit 17! oh, well maybe more North is prettier:rolleyes::p

Have fun!

Exit 17:

FDR, Hyde park, NY
Newburgh, The crips and the bloods (they're getting scarce, here!..honest)
Stewart's ANG and airport
Pinebush , the most sightings of UFO's (has Nothing to do with Stewart airport ;) )

Well, I'm proud of livin ' here.

If you're going to Philly- hit up Steve's Steaks. Best cheese-steak in town, imho ;)

Its been years since I lived there, but I want to say its on 76? That sounds about right.

I'll be back in that area for my best buddy's wedding ( I get to be a best mans. :3) in June.

I'll be FOR SURE hitting up Steve's for the first time in years!

Man. I miss the food in Philly. (There's a reason I've lost 50 KG since moving to Israel ;) )

Have a great and safe trip, CM! :D

Steve's in the Northeast serves a great sandwich, however, I shall respectfully disagree with you surasnji;)

Best cheese steaks here in Philly are as follows:

Jim's Steaks- I used to go the one off of 62nd St. in West Philly. Not a safe area now. They do have the one on South ST. in Center City.

D'Allessandro's on Henry Ave (Roxborough)

Chubby's " " (ironically across the street from the above, but hey they served beer way before their neighbor;)) This place also has the best selection of hot peppers!

Tony Luke's on Oregon (South Philly)

I can't stand Pat's nor Gino's! Commercial appeal and mediocre at best!

Dang! Wish I would have known! I was on vacation myself, before you went. Hope you have a great time, an awesome trip and see all the cool sites. Being a Philly native, would have loved to sent you off the beaten path.;) DC and NYC are so cool too! One week will not be enough!

Looking forward to a trip report.:)

I will fight you with a stick!! :p

At least on every point except the last one. Blegh. Gino's and Pat's are both cruddy steaks, imho!

At least we can agree on that, before the death match with sticks. :p

I, honestly, haven't been back to Philly in so long the quality of my favorite places could have changed for the worse! I hope not, since I plan on going back soon- but.. I'll check out somewhere new as well. Can't live in the past. ;)
