Personally I would love all casinos to not be able to have withdrawn funds pending for up to 48 hours should be against some kind of law/rule set my gambling commission, If you still want to wait 48 hours before you approve it then so be it but dont make it so players have that urge to reverse it.

When you request a withdrawal, Set a time out on your account until the money has been processed.

Or why not just play at casinos who do not have 48hrs pending.

I understand that but they shouldn't be allowed to if you request a withdraw you want the money, otherwise you leave it in your account, The whole reason of having it pending for 48 hours is to temp you to reverse it and lose it, which is morally disgusting by the casinos

Yup it's pretty irresponsible by the casino but is a winning tactic employed by them. Of course 'flushing' used to be a thing whereby they'd make your winnings inaccessible, a great tool, but many have abandoned that idea.

A few casinos are implementing 'locking' withdrawals (Rizk I think?) which is basically the same thing, although a lot of the better casinos pay rather quickly these days.

Any casino that uses 48hr pending is quite outdated in these times, and generally shunned by most :D

Maybe the 'community' could get behind an idea like this. Maybe the community could refuse to promote casinos who indulge in this type of behaviour. Maybe players could simply refuse to play at casinos like that. Maybe pigs will actually one day.

Hey!

Well, I do not think that is 'bad casino' if you can't lock WD.

How it works on our platform and in our casinos (Direx):

1) You request WD
2) You can wait (wd times depends on the each brand obv, in our N1 and Lady Hammer we have set a time like 1 hour max, but sometimes can be little be longer).
3) You can set wager limit, loss limit, deposit limit, cooling off etc - and you will not be able to lost your winnings.

If you want to set it just before WD processed - you can always speak with our CS guys, ask them to lift off limits right after WD processed.
Basically I think it is more than enough to give players control.

But an hour or two for the withdrawal to be processed is fine, 48 hours is simply because a casino wants players to reverse.
I have yet to see any argument for 48 hour pending periods that makes any sense. Casinos say 'its what customers want', no it isn't. In the majority of cases, if a casino processes a withdrawal in say 1 hour, the customer will have any wallet funds available straight away, debit card ones next day. If they want to keep playing, they can redeposit. They don't need a casino to dangle a carrot in front of them for longer than a withdrawal should take to hit your bank account.

Why does it need to be pending for 48 hours full stop? Give me 1 good valid reason.

Sometimes it's simply down to weekends (no processing) or simple volumes (I doubt it nowadays) but 95% is most certainly to exploit the 'feelgood factor' after a player wins, and then hope they spunk it back. The odds are on the casinos' side because there is a high likelihood that after a spike player RTP will take a nosedive after the big win(s).

I have heard varying figures in the past ranging from 20-35% of pending withdrawals where the figure is 24 or 48 hours are ultimately spunked back, and therein lies the main reason.

It's counter-productive as if a player does this it leads to rage exclusions whereas pay 'em quick they'll trust you and come back. This is why the best casinos have no pending, a very short one or allow 'locks' on withdrawals.

That isn’t exactly fair on Casinos. I work in payments and have had to cancel withdrawals millions of times. Either due to deposits not even having 1c wagered, documents expiring or otherwise not having been needed up to that point, so on and so forth.

Yes locking withdrawals is nice but it’ll still lead to it being cancelled if something is missing.

Someone mentioned instant withdrawals and why not all casinos implement it. The main reasons revolve around the risk that the casino is willing to take, say “anything less than 100” and with all docs in place, just confirm the withdrawal. It’s good for the larger ones that can afford to lose a few thousands a month on withdrawals that were dodgy, but extremely expensive for smaller ones.

Regarding Vitali’s reply, I think it’s irresponsible for limits to be set and removed without following MGA/UKGC guidelines even if it is related to a WD. It also gives RG teams concern that a player might not be in control of his spending.

I believe in the timeout method, if you can trust yourself to not spend it, in my eyes you have two options. Set limits on sign up so that you control yourself all the way throughout. OR time out for 24 hours, and keep doing so till you see it as completed on your end.

Well, to be honest I think there is couple of reasons why some brands still have 48 hours pending period:

1) Old school management and team - it was okay to have 48 hours pending period and even more in like 15 years ago. Or 10 years ago. And seems like such management and teams have zero willing to learn something new, to getting some new info. Believe, I saw examples of such management and decision makers people... They just think it is okay and they do not want to open their eyes and see how market looks nowadays.

2) Super-mega-awesome simple reason - to make people lose their winnings and increase revenue. Seriously, I believe it is main reason.

Can't figure out in my head what else can be a reason...Nowadays processing of most withdrawals is like I've clicked button process - money is on your ewallet (ofc it is different for cards, bank transfers and some other options).

Clearly your brand doesn’t follow the rest of the world in the way it works. It’s a click button true but you have to check gameplay, payment methods, links, documents and everything else before it’s a done deal.

Hey mate!

MGA sometimes strange, specially with their recent directives where they said like 'okay, if customer asked to set him self-exclusion, you can reopen his account again after at least 7 days passed'. Seriously, is this player protection? If I'm asking for self-exclusion, I do not want to be able to remove it, even if I will beg casino for this. But it is derail.

Basically, it is not about checking WD for WR etc, it's simple question in this topic:

Why casinos have 48 hours pending WD.

And pretty much simple answer:

Because they want more revenue, and because no one restrict them to do so.

Mate, seriously, where I said that we do not check withdrawal?

Basically, to check account in 95% cases you need like a minute if you well trained and have enough knowledge. And we speak about 48 hours...

WD checks are reasonable and must be in place, but it can not be counter-argument to 'why you guys have 48 hours pending period'.

It’s a term that’s there in case there’s a backlog in withdrawals. Case in point, casino I work for has a 3 day grace period. It’s there but we’ve never taken longer than a couple of hours to process. People here can attest to it, albeit I won’t mention the name of the casino but it’s accredited.

It’s not about training alone. Sorry Vitali, you and I are gonna bump heads on this. It depends on a multitude of factors, some corporate, other practical based.

Agree mate, let's not derail. If by any case you will be on any future affiliate conference I will be more than happy to have a discuss about it with you in person :)

I don't think the thread is about casinos such as yourself, who have a term but process quickly. All whitehatgaming sites take roughly 48 hours to process, always. It can be slightly less, but its always the second day, so if you withdraw at any point on a Monday it will be processed Wednesday. To me its counter productive, I won't reverse and I won't play there on a Thursday-Saturday as I know the withdrawal won't be processed till the Monday/Tuesday. Its rare I play there on a Wednesday either, simply as I know I won't get my winnings until the Monday. 5 days to get it when I can can play at Casumo (for example) withdraw at 11pm thursday night and have the money Friday 3pm.

But an hour or two for the withdrawal to be processed is fine, 48 hours is simply because a casino wants players to reverse.

I can see what your saying mate, there are fees involved in processing deposits/withdrawals though and I expect casinos may want to keep those fees down. Would you consider paying those fees to get a quicker service?

Withdrawal times don’t personally bother me, as I know the money is on its way.

Rob :)

I would expect casinos to take into account fees and assume no one is going to reverse, and if they do then its a bit extra in their pocket. Having said that I don't mind the videoslots system where the first one is free then a small fee for any after that the same day.
The times don't particularly bother me, but when I can withdraw from Skyvegas at 3am on a Sunday morning by debit card and have the money back in my bank account by 3.30am, I think other casinos taking 5 days to do the same thing is too slow.

Quick withdraws is one of my top reasons to play at a Casino and also either lock my withdraw or "hide it" like there is no option to cancel the withdraw like on Sky Vegas.

If your not a first deposited then 48 hours is a BS term, 32 red I still believe take 24 hours in pending before they would even consider approving it, so annoying and frustrating.

In this day and age where bank transfers are instant in most places, waiting is just annoying. If you walked into a casino and they told you to come back in a couple of days to get your winnings would you be happy ??

The worst is the casinos where they don’t process it until 3 days.... yet your payment is processed within a day yet you have to wait over 4 days for payment??? Lols

I'm pretty sure most casinos aren't even looking at the withdrawals or player account until the 48 hour pending period has passed. If there was a two day wait after the deposit (NOT the withdrawal) from certain methods like credit cards (to avoid chargebacks), I could understand that. Or to ease the processing costs of rapid deposit/withdraw/redeposit players.

But I don't think it can be denied that the main reason for it is to get people to play back their winnings.

The backlog argument doesn't really add up to me. Make everyone wait two days just so a player doesn't occasionally have to wait two days... anyway? Would only set expectations low and annoy everyone equally.

Having a grace period to let people know that occasionally you need more time would be a bit different.

Ironically, my one and only big casino win in the last few weeks I feel like I can't keep playing now, because if I ended up winning it would take even longer to cash out. Between the 2-3 business days and the no weekend payouts, already going to be about 5 days from now as it is. If i won a big jackpot or something, could be another 2-4 weeks.

This thread was not aimed at anyone 1 casino/group It was about in general, My argument still stands where if you want to have 48 hours period for checking account and reviewing the funds ect then so be it but you can still do this and stop pending withdrawals reversible, The whole argument about players want to be able to cancel a withdrawal instead of re deposing is nothing but bull crap, There Main reason is for the player to take back funds and lose, simple as. There are so many great casinos out there which as soon as you withdrawn you can not longer take it back which is how it should be. I do not see any casino holding your deposit for 48 hours to do checks on the account ect.
The only time I will play on these type of sites is Saturday Sunday Monday, as any other day you could be looking a week to get your withdrawal which is ridiculous
I have been with sites where they do not count weekends in 48 hours period so if you was to withdraw on Friday your funds could still be reversible until Tuesday.
All in all Casinos who have these types of pending periods do they self no favors as alot of people simply wouldn't play there due to this issue.
