There are some pretty strange laws here in the UK, some are old laws from hundreds of years ago that have never been repealed. A few coppers, councils, and transport operators occasionally drag them out. It's fine to walk a dog in the park, even a borrowed one provided the owner has given permission. However, a non dog owner might be unaware of a few bylaws that could catch them out. A few councils have started fining people for not carrying a "poop bag", even if the dog has not pooped. Some places also require dogs to be on a lead, even in a park well away from the road. When you borrow the dog, ask the owner whether there are any odd bylaws you need to be aware of before taking it down the park.

Midsomer town council even have a law specifically prohibiting the walking of a dog whilst wearing an animal costume that covers the face and prevents a warden from identifying the "owner" of the dog being walked in case it poops and the owner and dog scarper leaving the poop behind. It's OK to walk a cat though, as the poop scooping laws do not apply to cats.

If the Panda costume is imported from China, it must meet strict EU safety standards and carry the CE mark, else it's going to be illegal to wear it in public.

Avoid doing this task close to a zoo, as it's possible that you might get mistaken for an actual panda that has escaped, and you will be darted and put back into the panda enclosure, where you will wake up wondering WTF happened, and WTF you are.

yup, this is what I need to do in order to claim the full £5K

Walk a dog in the park

Buy groceries in a supermarket

Do sports

Get on a train/metro during rush hour

I might even become a Kung Fu Panda, who knows!

Surely someone on CM is close enough to Derby to come and give you a hand?? Unfortunately I am across a body of water or I would help out. Maybe start a thread looking for a volunteer to come and help with the filming, and you could pay any travel expenses out of the £5K you will get for completing the tasks? It could be a bit of craic.

You could offer to split the money 50/50 with someone who is prepared to go all in with you as your support and filming partner. It's OK for you in a panda costume because even though you look daft, no one will recognise you. The person filming however will be recognised, but it will look more "respectable" an activity if you are being filmed because people will realise that it's some kind of promotion or sketch, rather than some complete nutter dressed as a panda.

No, you don't need to think of the guy with the camera. That person will just have a great time
You have to find someone and if you have a camera of your own you just ask different people you don't know to help you.
I promise they will have the laugh of the day

Ask a stranger: near everyone has a cell phone with video capabilities; have them upload to your email. People are often kinder than we give them credit for.

If the family trumps any cash value, offer to put toward a charity

the promo is fantastic and out of ordinary and the prize is huge for such a simple task and after being very lucky to be selected you pass it???? ask on any local facebook group for someone to film it for 500, im sure there will be enough interested.

this is one to remember and one story to tell later in life in different circumstances, even more if you do crazy things. for 5k i would go nuts doing shit that would get media coverage and climbing naked with panda tail attached the trees from Cernobyl while followed by rabid foxes!!

Yeh, i don't mean to sound harsh but i can't see a single reason why not to do this. If you never had any intention of doing it why enter it, why not decline it and tell RP to choose the runner up.

I really can't find a single reason why not to do it, even if you have no friends get a stranger, why the big deal over putting on a panda suit
