I really feel lost when football season has ended. (I hate basketball and hockey) I don't get to watch a lot of prime time TV as I go to bed early (I'm up and having coffee by 4 or 5 a.m.) and do well to keep my eyes open past 8 p.m.
I've never watched the typical 'girly' TV - cooking shows, talk shows, soaps, etc. and hate sitcoms, so I was happy when I found the cops shows rerunning afternoons and early evening on various channels... NCIS, CSI, Castle, Law & Order, Bones, Criminal Minds, and all their kith and kin, like L&O: Criminal Intent, etc.
The problem is, now that I've seen so many of them, I keep seeing the same character actors pop up on these different shows, in one show as the victim, another show they may be the murderer, or in yet another show as simply a family member or co-worker of the victim. For instance, the recent police captain (now a regular) in Castle was a murder suspect as the head of an evil recycling company in Bones (I think it was). A lunatic serial killer on Criminal Minds one episode was a poor pitiful crying wife of the victim in an episode of NCIS, etc., etc., etc. And sometimes on the same show(as the shows have been on for several years) the actor may have been a suspect in one episode, then pop up as a killer in another later episode - all unrelated to the previous episode. I'll think, 's/he did it!... no.... wait... that was on Castle, not Bones'.
I find this is very distracting - and irritating.
I've seen the Ancient Aliens a dozen times over -- I love the exotic and mysterious places and artifacts they examine (ignoring the a+b+g=ALIENS! logic presented). Wonder if there's such a thing as a world tour of these sites?
I'll be soooo happy when baseball season begins - even though the Atlanta Braves are really going to be lousy this year.
/end whine
