By all of you! (I’m including myself in “you”)

I’ve been meaning to write this for at least a month now but kept putting it off. Please bare with me as this might turn into a ramble and surely will take a while to read through.

Yes this is about online casinos just give me a minute to work my way around the damn bush. Some know I’m a police officer. The other night our city was hit so hard by burglaries it almost made me embarrassed to know I was on duty when it happened. Basically we had a LARGE number of alarms go off at multiple businesses throughout the city. All were set off on purpose to cover while a number of specific business were hit (including a jewelry store, cvs pharmacy, and at&t). It occurred to me that if the bad guys team up, it is no way for any city or country to keep a lid on the crime/chaos. One of our biggest weapons against crime is the fact that we work as a team in conjunction with different levels of law enforcement / government and the bad guys are too busy killing each other.

These forums have been around longer than I’ve probably been alive so I hope my post isn’t taken out of place. We have such a great opportunity with these forums to change the way operators work but too many of us are at each other’s throats; which is odd because we all want to have fun and make money.

I don’t know how to fix it but all of us need to work on it. If the majority portion of these forums ban together then casinos WILL hear us when it’s time to hear us. For ex: If a player is truly shown to have been cheated then it would speak volumes if we all didn’t play there until the situation was resolved. Obviously this will require us placing our trust in the leaders of CM. It would be too much of a chance for mistakes if we were taking each other’s word on who was cheated.

Some standards do need to exist in favor of any casino that has yet to be rogued or on the warning list. For ex: if a casino states in their terms and conditions that you can’t place bets on number 7 when playing roulette or winnings will be confiscated…..O well, you lose. Read the terms. We should be holding players to this without exception. It sucks, it would be a stupid rule, and as such maybe a warning for the casino should be issued by CM. But too many players take up for players who registration shows (01/2012), and clearly broke a T&C. Once we start holding players to reading the damn terms then we can start holding casino’s to the more blatant cheating / attempts to steal players money.

The important focus needs to be us sticking together as much as possible. I’m not sure where winning at a rogue or hated casino fits in. To be honest if I won large amounts and was paid from a rogue / hated casino it would be hard for me to walk away no matter what was said on the forums. We should respect that as forum members. And I’m sure most if not all would have trouble walking away from a casino that just paid you 20K because everyone else was having troubles.
So many important threads turn into needless fights. The casinos know that we aren’t united. Most of the time I keep thinking screw it I’m not affected by this drama. In the end though if we stick with each other and changes are made in the way casino’s operate then we all win. As of right now we are all cheating each other.

Holy crap! I didn't know you were an officer of the law!

In all sincerity Cleveland, lovely post.

The members on this forum for the most part, are always helpful, informative and even though some may disagree with others on specific topics, we all tend to get to see the issue from all perspectives. I, for one, appreciate that fact.

Now, get back to work! And more importantly, stay safe.

Fixed the bold red part for you :)

Edit: I do have more to add, this is just a fly by as im getting ready to leave work

I hear what you`re saying Cleveland and on paper it looks a great idea, but here`s the kicker = A majority of those whom join here after getting burnt do so after depositing at a none accredited casino (mostly a rogue), do well, and get scammed out of their winnings. A huge percent of the members here do not deposit at these rogue casinos, so calling for a show of solidarity and boycotting these casinos thus causing them to suffer financially is nigh on impossible.

You have to ask yourself how these two cent clip joints like the Virtual group stay in business, whilst the web is flooded with complaints concerning their work ethics there will always be enough regular customers using them whom they treat good, keeping them afloat and speaking highly about them.

No matter how united we are here at CM unfortunately our show of hands will do nothing to stop them.

This whole scenario needs to be nipped in the bud at source be it Ecogra, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, or the many other online gambling commissions out there, it really shows how poor these agencies are regarding their duties, when sites like this who basically bear no judicial jurisdiction whatsoever pack way more of a punch than those that do (God bless `em), in resolving player issues.

Prevention is better than cure, and this starts right at the heart of the problem - Software providers giving licences to dubious people and not revoking these licences when the licensee`s turn rogue.

You more than anyone Cleveland would have experienced the aftermath of what happens when people are granted licences for usage of items they should not have, a good example here is the incident which resulted in a total ban of firearms in the UK (bar shotguns), when a fruitcake named Michael Ryan shot the hell out of a peaceful village named Hungerford. His main weapons were a Chinese version of the AK-47, and an M1 carbine to which he owned legally and was a member of a shooting club, he stocked up thousands of rounds for these which again was perfectly legal.

Where is all this going you may ask yourself?, here`s where - Who in their right mind uses assault rifles for target shooting?, especially ones that fire a very expensive 7.62mm calibre round, and no one battered an eyelid when he purchased thousands of rounds for them, albeit a very morbid example, it is still a prime example of those that issue licences for products not giving a flying f**k about those using them after the deal is done and dusted, if these agencies/corporations/businesses done their jobs properly, the only reasons we would need websites like this one would be for forum bragging rights curtsey of the screenshot section (and to ogle and swoon at Blonde all day lol).

/peace.

@ Seven: You're right. I wish there was a gambling commission that would push hard to fix some of the issues/problems that exist for players. All in all I still would like to see us a bit more united.

On a side note: Every time I see your name I think of that movie Se7en:

We all do my friend, but why stop here, I for one would love to see a united world but whilst we have the likes of Blair, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld etc in seats of power it will never be, hell if there was profit in it all those mentioned would have declared war on peace.

Lol, it has always been a very special number to me ;).

Stay safe Cleveland!!

Now... the major problem with onlines casinos (as I see it) is not just unwitting/trusting/naive players who sign up willy nilly at every off-shore rogue offering a fat bonus, but REGULATION. There is none. It doesn't exist. Anywhere. Our only lifeline after being screwed over by a casino is Casinomeister. And, as we have seen, sometimes even our bulldog (MaxD -- thanks Max!!) can't MAKE a casino see reason.

I was under the illusion that where gambling was legal, that there were authorities set up to keep everything fair for all and on the up and up. Protect the player from abuse by shitty casinos, and protect the casinos from evil/fraudlulent players, etc., etc.

After the Betfair fiasco (among others) I am now totally disillusioned, disgusted, sad, mad, and .. well.... pissed off.

As to the forum... well... it's a forum. The longer a thread goes on, the more it becomes about the personalities of the members posting and less about the topic being discussed.

We all think rogue casinos should be wiped off the face of the internet. But until software providers take more responsibility (RTG= hah!!) it won't happen, as (here we circle back again) there is NO regulation in the industry.

Pardon me for turning this into a rant.... as you were.... move along... only a mouse having a hissy fit.... nothing to see here.....

You have to ask yourself how these two cent clip joints like the Virtual group stay in business...

Easy. Big bonus offers. They know humans are, by nature, are always looking for something for nothing and they use the lure of "free" money to lure them in. Not just Virtual. A large number of casinos use bonuses for the same reason

I like the sentiment expressed by Cleveland but the bottom line is that - short of help from "authorities" - the ONLY way you can hurt the rogues financially is by convincing players that a bonus is more often a trap than a freebie.

The Casinomeister Best Worst 2011 went to? The bonus culture. Says it all IMO.

We really need that Nominate a Post option back!

Your convictions are on the right track Cleveland, don't change your ideals. There's nothing wrong with the idea of solidarity, used in the right sense/way changes can be made. It just may take time and patience. Look how long it took for CWC to change the wording (again) for the student clause. Baby steps, but maybe if complaints are handled in a friendly manner with a majority rules-type front of CM members...who knows, miracles do happen...And maybe the casinos who didn't make it on the CM awards who really want to make a difference and earn themselves a spot for next year will start listening to the players. They'll start becoming involved in the forum, interact with the players, actually listen and try to fix problems ( I know... DREAMING!).

We're just a small group in the vastness of the cyberworld of online gaming, but if you look at the number of people who login here every day... the number of casino reps who log in, it has to mean something. Casinomeister has been around a long time, these awards are just as important for the players as they are for the casinos.

@Mousey, it takes lots of little voices to build a chorus! We may not always agree, but that's what makes each of us unique. How boring it would be if we were all alike in our thoughts and ideals and opinions. We'd have nothing to complain about.:D
