Hi guys.

Was trying out the Captain Cooks introduction offer of play free for an hour with $500 house money, then keep what ever you make over the $500.

Was up to over $900, playing European High Limit BJ and Thunderstruck, was playing back in Thunderstruck at 0.45, 9 lines and hit 3 Rams, started to go through free spins and made $15 off the first few, then a big feature rolled in on the free spin, I could'nt tell what it was as the program booted me, while the screen was in mid-blur I could see a couple of thunderclouds, so I could have been anything.

Re-started the casino and tried to log back in, only to be informed that my account was locked.

I think I made too much money from the free offer they have on their main page. This is not a great way to encourage potential customers and I'm quite pissed off. Thankfully this was not my own money, so I can only really laugh at the situation.

Please bear in mind that today, took advantage of the offer they have on the homepage, installed the casino, registered an account (my first with the group), started to play the free bonus and got locked out for no reason.

Went to Live Chat for the inevitable cut and paste conversation, here transcript follows.

Please wait for an operator to respond.

You are now chatting with Lucy.

Lucy: Welcome to the CR Helpdesk Live Chat service. How can I help you?

Lucy: Sorry, unfortunately it appears your account(s) have been locked after conducting a routine screening. This could be due to a number of reasons

Lucy:

Lucy: your welcome

Lucy: take care

Lucy: Thank you for chatting with us.

Lucy: Goodbye

Chat session has been ended by the site operator.

I'm not sure why they would do this. I had only been a member for about an hour.

I can only think how extremely angry I would be if this was my own money. Thank god I've had this warning shot and from hence forth with steer well clear of this casino.

Bloody American Indians. Ho Hum another wasted hour of my life, to add to the thousands.

Anyway, what do you all make of this.

This explains a lot....

I have stolen this from another thread and it's a quote from the very wise Vinylweatherman:

Captain Cooks is part of Casino Rewards.
They are up to their old tricks of locking the rewards account, and telling players to deposit to get it unlocked, and then saying "no" after players deposit.

The other one, Vegas Joker, has been moved to "not recommended" after screwing over a load of players who broke no terms and conditions. They were accused of "bonus abuse". They had to fight to get redress.

There are better places to play, and there are many other Microgaming casinos to look at in the accredited section before considering others.

This is EXACTLY what has happened to me. So the upshot I should take from all this is just NOT to play at this casino.

Well again, I say, thank goodness that it wasn't my own money and that I had this fantastic site to warn me about all the pit-falls.!!

I believe you are talking about two separate issues. Vinylweatherman's post deals with the usual CR policy of locking players' Reward accounts after successive sign-up bonuses with no non-bonus play in between. Players who have their Reward account locked can still play at the casinos without bonuses and are encouraged to do so by CR (to get their bonus accounts unlocked).

Your original post describes a different situation, in which your casino account was locked (not your bonus account) while playing at your first casino in the group. I doubt it has anything to do with having a large win, as the terms limit the maximum bonus winnings to $200. My guess is Thailand (your country) is classified as a high-risk country by CR. Another player contacted me with a similar issue with the Playshare group yesterday, in which the player's winnings were not paid due to Thailand being classified as a "high risk" country. Fortunately the casino decided to change this policy and pay the player their winnings. They also mentioned plans to prevent future similar issues with players from "high-risk" countries being able to deposit, but not withdraw.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes aka, it appears that you are right.

Thailand perhaps is deemed a problem country by the global community.

I have decided to play with Intercasino as they have no problem with receiving my money or paying me.

Mrrace, I like to jive with the Live Help at every opportunity. I sincerely wonder whether she realised that I was being sardonic.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Just received email regarding this matter from Captain Cooks:

Casino Risk Management.

I'm still leaning towards not playing there at all.

What do you guys think?

With the lack of any real explanation given... I wouldn't bother with them.

But I would take the time to e-mail them a reason why you decided not to play anymore at their casino... ;)

I have reviewed your casino and found that it was staffed by incompetent goofs... and my computer has automatically banned me from any further patronage of your casino... Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

I will, as I have just done here, quote you word for word.

Bye Bye Capeetan Crooks.

How about,

"Security checks with the Casinomeister community have identified Captain Cooks as coming from a high risk casino group, and thus I feel it unwise to continue to play there."

If the problem with Thailand is so great that accounts are automatically locked, then they should add Thailand to the excluded country list. Not all their offers are free play for an hour, others involve making deposits (and having the account locked later).
Other players are also having non-payment issues, and one seems to involve denial just because Autoplay was used on Thunderstruck. They have clearly gone beyond just locking reward accounts, they are now into confiscation of winnings, and with the flimsiest excuses ever seen at MG.
Should you deposit to receive the $200 from the free play, they could still refuse to pay. If you are tempted, get all documents fully verified and agreed in writing BEFORE making a deposit.

You are a bit naive here. You should not worry that they dont let you win at the free hour, as they want you to win so that you deposit.

I won quickly in two such bonuses, and immediatelly got suspicious. And then I read this:

...A reader alerted me to possible cheating on a site in free play mode. I backed red 200 times on their single zero game. I won an amazing 133 times. The chances of this are 1 in nearly 4 million not credible! This software is still in use on some sites, so be warned ...

So what you should worry about, is if you win easily at the free hour, because if they use cheating (and not random) software in your favor at the free hour, what will they do in the normal play where you will deposit?

I maxed out the $200 as well. Didnt deposit afterwards but it makes you think. Nice to see your rep points moving up:)

Not that I like Casino Rewards but I did the free hour, maxed out the bonus and then churned away until I cashed out I think $200 or so. Of course, before reading things in this forum I also signed up at BlackJack Ballroom, and a couple of others and did the bonuses and actually was winning a little. It wasn't until I deposited $500 at Casino Kingdom, ran it up to $800 and then cashed out that they locked my rewards account until I deposited enough to cover what they had given me. The good news is I did deposit, then won more than I had depsoited and cashed that out too. I haven't been back since!:p

Ah, right, theres your problem. It was a while ago when I took the hour of free play but if I remember something in the small print about cashing out before you complete the additional playthrough, thats over and above the playthrough you need to collect the bonus. So many small catches that I didnt think it was worth depositing. Check their bonus rules, you'll probably find they have sneaked something in somewhere.
