I need some opinions

I have stand up material that I wrote myself but don't know how to find out if it's funny enough to submit or go to open mic. Is there a way I can do my routine via my video camera (2 minutes at a time) and put a link here?

I have about 2 or 3 minutes, I can talk fast to get it all to fit, I just wanna see if the material is funny, Ill worry about the timing and the order the stuff goes later. I dont want to just paste it here because it's not as funny when you just read it

Any suggestions? Plus if I write it and it IS funny, someone can steal it, but if it;'s me on camera with the timestamp and someone steals the material, I have proof that I wrote it first.

I can also do the poor mans copyrite.....mail it to myself and not open it unless someone uses it.

Upload it to youtube, Babs then share the link If you don't want just anybody to see it it can be 'by invitation only' or you can just use obsfucated tag words likelkjasdh and uufyfyf.

There hasn't been a 'poor man's copyright' since 1978, the act of creation grants you the right now, and publishing it on youtube will be the record... more or less the same thing, huh? mAybe just say, 'Today's date is x-x-xx and I, babs lastname am the owner of this previously unpublished work of comedy and retain all rights to it.' That should suffice for the circled p, or v, or c.

The only problem with not actually registering your work with the copyright office is that you can only sue for actual damages, rather than punitive damages and that's all the difference in the world.

imo 99% of the comedians out there aren't even close to funny, so they wouldn't recognize good material to steal anyway

Youtube is a good suggestion, and would give you a wider audience reaction imo, Babs.

yeppers, what they said! Although be aware that a lot of people seem to use the lack of moderation on youtube comments to be a**holes.

If you're feeling a little vulnerable, you might want to upload it somewhere and send out the link to a few people that you know and garner some 'constructive' criticism first.

I got an idea, since you have to be invited on the WC2 in MSN, Ill put it there and if those think it's funny, Ill put it here and you guys all think it's funny ill graduate to Youtube. I just dont have confidence when it comes to myself LOL......I know , your all thinking Im miss confident because it's easy for me to write how I feel in here but when it comes to comedy or a talent, I am very shy
