I Closed Wintingo Account - Now The Spam Starts

The below is spam from wintingo. Now I'm not familiar with affiliates, how it works, how to trace the spamulous bastards who do it.
Right, to help me understand how it works, presumably the url will have a link extension so any sign-ups reward the spammer. Here is the link MINUS the first bit so it can't be clicked:

Who has done it??

Firstly, its unlikely to be spam from Wintingo. Its important to make that distinction, as your thread title suggests they are deliberately spamming you once your account was closed....which would be pointless anyway as you can't have two accounts etc.

Secondly, the only people who will know exactly who it is would be the Wintingo affiliate managers, who will look at the "affiliate ID or aid" which in this case is 11 and match it to an actual person. Also, email campaigns are often arranged in advance, and in any case, if they came from an affiliate it would have absolutely no connection to your account closure. Its purely a coincidence.

You will need to pm Wintingo rep to investigate as nobody can help you without access to the backend (VWM might have it )

Its also possible you gave permission at some point for someone to sell your email to some person who sold this email to this person etc. I guess its academic really anyway.

Yes, I see your point. An affiliate identified as you demonstrated has sent this spam. I always ensure FYI to check boxes prohibiting marketing/text/e-mail communications when I join any site, except for the site's own direct promotions - no third parties. I agree the thread title maybe misleading, and it's a spamulous affiliate rather than a direct Wintingo communication. It should maybe be retitled 'Wintingo Affiliate Spam'.

After a 2 week dry spell I'm now getting the PG spam again, plus still getting 888 affiliate spam.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the site. I had an account a few yrs ago at 123Bingo. I didn't like a lot about the site so I closed my account shortly after.

I still get robo calls from them. Just got another one yesterday even.

I had tried to get them to stop, told them I closed my account a few yrs ago. It is a useless waste of energy.

Yes, it's like nuisance sales calls, 'what don't you like about our site, and what would make you reopen your account?' sort of crap. I closed my last VPL account recently and within 2 weeks was contacted asking if a NDB of £20 would tempt me to reopen it. 'No!' I said. I reckon casinos, especially MG are suffering a downturn in turnover, especially in the face of better and newer sites from Scandinavia. Smacks of desperation to me.
