Sums my usual Saturday's up

1.15A Shanksforamillion - Unplaced, my 2nd choice won at 16/1 (price put me off, he was drifting in market)
1.50A Cobra De Mai - 4th, needed 3rd
1.55DR Charlie Stout - 2nd beaten on the line, head up, if it was down would have won
2.25A Theinval - mistake at last cost him 3rd

:mad::mad::mad:

I have this at Down Royal. I thought that Charlie Stout had just won it before they showed the replay :(

I suspected that Colin's Sister would run a good race. Because of its name I have followed it since it began running on the flat :D

I've gone with a ridiculous punt on long shots today on the ITV racing. Colin's Sister is a massive price for some reason despite improving massively last season.

I don't ever bet on sports as I wouldn't know where to start so when I got a 'bet £1 get £10' promo I didmt want to miss out... but where to begin....I recall a thread on cm somewhere. O I trust col and col.. let's see what they suggest...

Well I had to put a £1 e/w on Colin's sister now didn't I?
Now £17 richer plus the bonus £10.

Cheers all x

Ha ha ha. That has made my day. Congratulations :)

I was thinking about an each way on Blackjackhat in the 1019 because it has won over course and distance three times which proves it can deal with the sharp bend before the run in. But 40-1 tells me that I would be throwing my money away.Cambodia is a tempting EW in the 9.00 at about 16-1 which has also won over C&D twice

Both the 40-1 and 16-1 shots came in each way but I bottled out of putting the double on :( But I have an each way winner with two to go :)

Good luck with your next two :)

I like Firenze Fire here EW, but haven't backed it (can guess whats going to happen now!)

From my other selections today

Poormans Hill & Rapid Escape won, and emerald rocket I think only had 3 legs, typically, my 2 strongest won, and did a treble so no return.

I did have £10 EW on Bristol De Mai, and a £10 EW double on it and Gassin Golf which came last, but ended up about £30 up on the afternoon.

My EW in the 9.00 lost coming 8th which I had £10 EW on, but had £20 on World Approval which won the 10.19 (took 9/2), so around £100 up on the day :)

Just got in and see the meeting is on RUK so at least can watch it in HD :)

Thats a nice return for the day. I'm happy to break even on the Gee gee's. If these last two come in each way I will be up on the day too.
Still kicking myself about not sticking that double on :(

I'm happy to have any return at all on a Saturday, even 10% of my stake is good usually lol

No idea about this race, Highland Reel might win, but I'm not convinced, and I'm certainly not putting money on it at evens! Thats a mental price, I would want at least 3/1.

I do like Talismanic each way and also Oscar Performance, quite concerned about the draw for both though, probably just watch the race :)

EDIT : ffs lol

Me-1 you-1 when it comes to not sticking the bet on! I just need West Coast in the last now :)

Even though I didn't back it it's still nice to have read the race right, I thought Highland Reel was ridiculously short, Oscar Performance I thought had a chance but knew he might not stay, which was pretty much spot on. I thought the winner ran a really good race considering the position he was in 2 out, I didn't think he would get a run but he did it well.

In the big one, I like yours and Collected, with slight preference for collected, simply because he has won 7/7 races on a fast going dirt track, including a 500k race over C&D. I'm thinking about sticking a £5 RFC from my winnings on them :)

The favourite has a massive task from stall 1.

Given how well O'brien's horses have ran at the meeting I quite fancy Churchill each way.Your two choices trainer has 4 horses in the race. The greedy git!
Good luck if you stick that bet on

I really don't like Churchill in this one bit, I don't think he will handle the track, or be good enough. I do think War Decree has a chance though, and would be surprised if he doesn't finish in front of Churchill

ok, just cos I've waited up, been up since 5am, and been babysitting so am shattered now, playing £20 of my winnings

TYpical winter Monday racing today with poor quality racing, but it can sometimes throw up the odd decent bet.

William Hunter in the 1.40 should beat these, and Alan King likes him.
Roksana in the 2.10 should win.
Humidor is a decent EW bet in the Melbourne Cup

2.20K is a terrible race, but Bint dandy is running off its lowest mark since it last won, and since December 2014 if you take the jockey's claim into account. Should know your fate quickly though as I think he needs to lead to win. 16/1 ish at the moment.

Ply should win the 3.20 but Desert ruler is ultra consistant, hasn't been out the first 3 all season, and was only beaten 3l by Ply a couple of starts ago. Dropped in the weights since then, while Ply has gone up, surely there shouldn't be a price difference of about 14 points. Not saying it will win, but surely has a good chance of getting placed and is better value than Ply.

In the 4.20, Athassel is a C&D winner, and back down to a mark that he has won off in the past. Katherine Glenister isn't a bad amateur and the trainers not in the worst form either, and is his only runner of the day. He also ran well over C&D a couple of runs back. I think he is an AW horse so am ignoring his recent turf runs. Around 16/1 at the moment.

As an aside, Sean is at Southwell for Gorran Haven but I'm not convinced it will win so leaving it alone.

Good luck if you're having a bet today :)

Errr, thanks, I think :D I would like to think I get better results lol.

I just try to give my reasoning if I have time rather than just list a load of horses.

Was a mixed bag today

William Hunter - beaten a short head
Roksana - won
Bint Dandy - just beaten into 2nd at 14/1
Ply won but Desert Ruler lost
Athassel lost

Fingers crossed for the Melborne Cup - won't be waiting up for it lol.

CiS...I need your help.

I am going to break down here. Because I feel like a complete fucking moron right now.

What I need is you to put me out of my misery.

I did a bet at WillHill and placed a £1 bet on 8 horses (as a straight). The intention was to do a £1 each way bet on the 8 horses. This should have made my total stake £2. But being the idiot that I am, I fogot to click the "each way" button.

I could probably now do this myself and calculate what my returns would have been...but can you just do a double check for me? (Becaue I am already a drunk incompetenet cunt).

These were the horses, meetings and final places.

Exeter

13:00 - Just a Sting (2nd) - 15/8
13:30 - Dynamite Dollars (WON) - 4/5
14:00 - San Benedito (2nd) - 8/1
15:05 - Ask the Weatherman (WON) - 5/1

Kempton

16:45 - Magic Mirror (WON) - 9/4

Fairy house

13:25 - Monbeg Worldwide (2nd) - 4/6
14:25 - Poorman's Hill (2nd) - 4/5
15:00 - Magic of Light (WON) - 10/11

Really sorry to ask this of you. I did a rough mental calculation and think it would have been around £280 odd returns. Can you tell me how much it would actually have been?

Based on all of the EW placings at 1/5th the odds you would have got a total return of £18.69 for the £1 EW Accumulator mate

Well thank god for that. Thanks Colin.

I did it incorrectly the 1st time. Calculated all the horses as winners at a £1 stake then divided by 5 to get the 1/5 odds.

Worked out at over £1k. Felt sick. Then realized I did it wrong and should have been calculating with the divided odds after each race/place and not calculating as if they won. No idea how I got the £280 plus sum...but relieved to know it was way way off.

Thanks man!

What a set of c**ts

Wonder how much they will get from me in the future, a clue, its less than £0.01.

(I know this isn't strictly horse racing but couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.)

It must be the price you have to pay for being a very astute punter who has the audacity to win too much from them? However my Paddy Power still loves me :(

Funnily enough they are happy for me to bet any amount I want, but if I wanted to put £20 grand on a horse I just have to guess at the price! The delay is massive, just watched a race, winner was 5 lengths clear at the furlong pole, I imagine it was trading at around 1.1 ish, was showing 3.15 on my screen, it was trading at 2.78 as it passed the line on ATR, so about 6 seconds after the race finished. How the fuck is anyone supposed to bet with a delay like that

I have never bet on anything in play. I stuck two very small bets on the two meetings on ATR but I have to put up with watching Hollioaks and the likes this evening. Still its keeping a 13yo quiet :(

Dan Skelton is in excellent form at the moment, 19 runners in past 7 days, only 2 not making the first 3, and a 24% win rate over the past 14 days, so I'm doing a £5 EW Treble on Hear No Evil, Virgilio and Workbench.

Paloma Blue in the 1.45 and especially Bacardys in the 3.30 look like good things and doing a large double on them

Also doing a 50p EW Lucky 15 on

1.00 Pastime
1.35 Muntadab
1.50 Tara View
2.05D Teruntum Star

FFS forgot to press post - Hear No Evil won

Edit - the reason I didn't do the other 2 Skelton runners was they are win only, so no doubt they will win too haha

Edit 2 - Captain Chaos won for Skelton (4 runner race so didn't back it)

Horse selections

Hello,
I enjoy the horse racing too. Here are my selections for today.
Monday 13th November 2017

Four £5.00 - 10 fold sports accumulators.

HORSES
12:50 Kepmton - Mr Whipped (1/4)
13:30 Carlisle - Brio Conti (8/13)
14:25 Kempton - Give M A Copper (1/4)
15:30 Kempton - Whisper (4/9)

SNOOKER (match betting)
11:30 - Mark Selby (1/14)

FOOTY (match betting)
AFC Asian Cup
12:00 - Korea DPR (1/6)

DARTS
(match betting)
19:15 - Gary Anderson (1/4)
19:45 - Cameron Menzies (2/7)
20:45 - Peter Wright (1/3)

HORSES

-Bet 1 (77/1)- 14:05 Carlisle - Rhymers Stone (7/1)
-Bet 2 (67/1)- 14:05 Carlisle - Meadowcroft Boy (6/1)
-Bet 3 (67/1)- 14:05 Carlisle - Idder (6/1)
-Bet 4 (67/1)- 14:05 Carlisle - Newstart (6/1)

In the 3.40 Shamilan is expected to win this easily by the stable, however. I've also been told Kateson is expected to win, so I'm going to do a RFC.

In the 2.55, Who Dares Wins seems to be a popular choice with tipsters, but I disagree. I think Bags Groove will win this easily. Up 8lb from his last race but I think he will be good enough to win again.

In the 4.00, I initally liked Stonecoldsoba, but going from 6/1 to 12/1 in a matter of hours suggest its either going to be withdrawn, or has 3 legs. Jumping Jack has obvious claims to getting placed, but seems to be one of those horses who just doesn't like to win. Salto Chisco is a C&D winner, won from this weight a week ago, and is James's only ride of the day. The only thing that puts me off is the fact that the trainer's usual jockey (H Bannister) goes to Kempton for the ride on 10/1 shot Eyesopenwideawake in the 1.20. That, on the face of it, suggests they expect that one to be their most likely winner.

I'm going to do a £20 treble on Salto Chisco, Shamilan and Bags Groove, a RFC in the 3.40, and if all 3 run in the 4.00 and I'm close to a bookie around the off time, a small (50p probably) Reverse Trifecta in the 4.00, at current prices I would expect that to pay around £130 (£65 to 50p stake)

Good luck if you're having a bet today :D

I've no idea why Earth Storm and Coldstonesoba are such big odds but they are worth an each way punt. I was almost tempted to include Jungle George( 1240 Southwell) in the bet but thought twice about it.

Coldstonesoba was available around 7/1 overnight, now is available at 25/1 in places, and about 28 on Betfair. There must be something wrong as yesterday I had it around 2nd or 3rd favourite when I was looking at the race. If it runs badly I hope the stewards look into it, especially if the jockey 'meets trouble' in running.

Marathonbet are currently 8/1, wtf, why does anyone use that firm, they always have shit prices, but 8/1 about a horse currently trading at 20/1+ with EVERY other firm is a piss take.

I have never heard of MarathonBet but it seems they have been trading online for 20 years  Coldstonesoba was 11/2 in my paper so I was surprised to see it at 25's at Paddy Power. I don't think I'll get the chance to watch the race but it will be interesting to see how the race pans out

It was 11/2 with Coral when they opened up, but most places were 7's. Defo strange betting on the race.

Out of interest, how often do you get these winning?

I used to do similar bets, not quite as big, but I would do something like

Selection 1
Selection 2
Selection 3
Selection 4

Top 4 Bankers with

Selection 5
Selection 6
Selection 7

So effectively having 4 selections, top 4 grouped together as 1, then the other 3. The top 4 would be odds on, at least 1/2, then the bottom 3, odds against, usually 4/1+. I would then do 6 x 5 folds, 4 x 6 folds and 1 x 7 fold, at different stakes, higher for the 5 folds, lower for the 7. Almost all the time one of the top 4 would lose, or if they all won, I wouldn't get another winner.

Badman Tipster on Fbook, seems to do ok, I followed a couple of his in-play(Goals Under/Over betting) footy selections last weekend and they both won. If you don't mind betting on the odd single win bet of 1/4 odds then I'd recommend checking out his selections.

Personally I enjoy making my own selections, for the moment the reason I have as many events in my bets as I do is due to the relatively small stake. I try to increase the odds by sticking in a horse or two. I have found that on a Saturday there's nearly always an 8/1 shot that wins, so I look for a race where the fav is 8/1 or thereabouts and select the first 4 runners Fav, 2nd fav, 3rd fav etc. If I see two races where the fav is 8/1 I'll select the race with the fewer amount of runners.

Thats not bad, its a good buzz when you get a big win like that from a fiver isn't it :)

In the 12.40 Agamemmon the favourite has a good chance, but I like Halo Moon at around 12/1 EW. Off for almost 2 years but I don't think fitness will be a problem, and would have beat these a couple of years ago, don't see any reason why he won't go well again today. I also think Barton Rose has a chance, although is high in the weights.

Uncle Alastair should win the 1.00, assuming he can jump hurdles.

If The Cap Fits should easily win the 2.20 but thats reflected in the price.

I've been looking for reasons to oppose Mac N Cheese in the 2.40, but apart from the 17lb raise in weights, I can't find any, not because I think he's a brilliant horse or anything, more that his rivals today aren't very good, and he should win.

Yanworth is the obvious form choice in the 3.00 but I do think these races are more public schooling for him, and with Chameron being a bit of an unknown, I wouldn't be putting too much on him at the likely odds. Hopefully Yanworth wins for groundiskey above :) I won't be having a bet in the race.

Rock On Baileys in the 4.45, I stuck a fiver EW on this last night at 16/1, now into 8's. Running in a weaker race, better jockey, I'll be surprised if it doesn't get placed. Met trouble in running last time.

Good luck if you are backing anything today.

Mixed day

Rock on Baileys came 2nd at 6/1 so that was a win.
Yanworth, hmmmm, that was a strange fall.
If The Cap Fits, won easily enough

The rest ...meh

I'm a bit pissed off about being away from a tv for the next 4 days because I only bet if I can watch the events and there promises to be some decent racing on :(
Good luck with your bets

Just the one for me today, Friday 17th November 2017.
(Please note: This selection isn't part of the £10 to £500 series, I'll post up the start of my 2nd attempt later tonight or tomorrow).

14:25 Cheltenham - Finian's Oscar (5/6):D

Not sure why Richard Johnson has gone to Newcastle when Cheltenham is on, but I would keep an eye on these in the betting, the last 2 seem to be drifting quite a lot, so he's possibly there for the first 2.
