Just a quick double for me today

2.05S Amadeus Grey
2.35S Notation

If you're into short priced horses then backing Envoi Allen today should be like printing money. 1/2 or thereabouts is at least double the price I would be happy laying at.

Good luck today
Agree on Envoi Allen, looks absolutely bomb proof in that race, I havent seen the horse touch a twig in his two chases and already looks banker material for Cheltenham.

Wow we seem to all agree on Envoi Allen.

Too short to bet alone alright but I've done a small treble at

Envoi who looks a penalty kick and two of Mark Johnsons at Southwell
Ghost rider with the ability he showed last time is against some unlikable types. Very short again at 1/2.
Notation although up 10lb for the last win. It was by half the track and at 11/10 he makes it into a nice priced treble for fun.

Small bet at 7/2 the treble.

No big punt on the United/Pool game as I just want to enjoy the game. same goes with Envoi Allen really!

Juventus have turned my head at 2/1 tonight away to inter in a game they have to win.

Pity there'll be no crowd there.

Cheltenham correct me if I'm wrong was the last big event in Britain or ireland which had an enormous crowd before the lockdown began.
It must be over 100,000 individuals in the 4 days who attend.

Did a double on the 2 Johnston horses myself as Coral were giving 11/4 enhanced on it.

Yip, Cheltenham was in danger of being called off, but they went ahead and it was at the tail end of the week that the decision on crowds was made I think, though I am pretty sure ROI had already took the decision of no crowds and racing behind closed doors.
Nothing like being in the crowd for these big races I remember being at Leopardstown years ago when Beef or Salmon won the Hennessy, he hadnt a hope of winning it until the crowd started roaring and lifted him over the line, never experienced anything like that day since, it will live in my memory forever, and thats what racing does for you, we all have the one or two memories that keep us going and I dont think theres a sport like it.

Yes and it provoked a huge backlash from the media.
One of my daughters lives in Cheltenham and hates it when the festival is on because of how the visitors behave. She can barely tolerate Cheltenham when I visit! :P

So dreal deal just won a grade 2 race at 22/1.

That's the Ronan McNally horse that landed a punt at navan in September and then rattled off 5 handicaps in a row at short odds despite going up the weights.

I'm starting to thinking he had a pound or 30 in hand of the handicapper:laugh:

BF SP was even higher... looked to take it quite comfortable as well, maybe frontrunner made bit favor there to make most look quite tired in last furlong..

Got today Notation and Envoi, only singles, quite nice day so far, some more footie bets to come, hope luck could once remain all day but doubting that... Pool-Manu and Inter-Juve both draws as singles and small double and some bit spontaneous inplay trades to come while watching games, good day for sports, no need to do much more today than be lazy and watch :)

Nothing exciting today, but think Outbox should run to a place in the 6.10. Northern Princess in the 2.20 will likely outrun it's 33/1 odds (which isn't to say it will get placed) and I know the stable think Everyday Champagne will win the 4.05 easily, and are extremely confident about it. The early 5/2 went almost straight away and now best priced 13/8, with over a third of the trades on betfair being on this one.

Picked one horse today. He is a non runner.

I guess that's one sure way not to lose

Charles Byrnes has licence suspended for six months after Viking Hoard was found to have been injected with a sedative. I cannot say I am surprised hes always seemed like a gangster.

Only horse I'm backing today is Millie Sussarri in the 2.45. Sean's only ride today, very long way to travel if he goes home empty danded. Running against a poor bunch, be surprised if it isn't up there at the end,
I had to go for my third choice in that race Col because my first two are now non runners. I won £30 this morning from Coral's reward grabber so I withdrew that and I'll be using that dosh for my bets in PP. I hate the betting set up in Coral.

1.35C Got to back Equus Dancer (4/1) after backing it last time and it unseating at the last, when booked for a place, back to a better trip, on heavy ground, running against 3 horses who aren't exactly good, he has to have a decent chance of winning this, especially considering how easily he won the 2 previous races over this distance. I'm fairly sure this will start a little lower than this, 4/1 is actually slightly better than its trading on Betfair (after commission) and is only 7/2 on PP and BF Sportsbook. I might look at trading a little in running as think Sean will sit with him behind and try to pass them between the second and last fences, so hopefully it will trade higher. Obviously that will depend on how well it's going a few fences out.

A bit 'out there' but in the 1.45 Happy Valley, I think Naboo Star (5/1) is an EW bet to nothing. Think it's got a good chance of winning and should certainly get placed for money back at worst.

PP are not showing previous results for Happy Valley. How did the Naboo race go? I'm keeping my powder dry until this evening at Dundalk but I'll wait before the off before placing a bet. I'm disappointed with the small fields at Southwell :(

I don't know, the bet hasn't settled and as you say the results aren't it.
Was disappointed with Equus Dancer but managed to back it at 9.8 in running then lay off at 4.3 so made a slight profit on the race even though it lost.

Guys we are back in action this.
Be great if someone could pick a winner this time:p

Same rules same people allowed enter.

Low and behold Liverpool and Man United meet again in the cup this weekend so obviously thats back in. I've added more so we are more likely to see someone pick a winner.

Saturday 1:50 Ascot
1:57 Navan

Sunday First Goalscorer Man Utd v Liverpool
2:40 Lingfield

As last time pick one goalscorer and one horse in each.
Starting price is the efective odds.

Having looked through todays racing I am not having a bet, maybe at Meydan later if something catches my eye.
The ground is untrustworthy all over western europe at the minute.

GL anyone having a punt.

Thanks for that, will have a go Saturday :)

Quip (12/1) might get a place in the 4.50 Meydan, although comes with a warning that it's my bogey track, don't think I've ever picked a winner there, not that I bet there very often.

Was going to do an EW double on both of Sean's but non runners in the 2.20 have put paid to that, and Crealion's price in the 2.50 has collapsed, was 15/2 last night, now 4/1. Do think they both have a chance of being placed, more so the first one, but with only 2 places I'll leave it today.

Keyser Soze in the 2.00 might run ok, likes it here, and quite possibly will beat these, currently 4/1

Good luck today

A lot of the nags that I picked out for today in my paper turned out to be none runners so I was just left with this plus a small bet at Newcastle this evening.

Bloody marvelous. I'll post my predictions once the cards are up in PP for Navan

If you have a few pennies spare in an account, then a small EW on tomorrow's Ascot 3.00, Louis' Vac Pouch 33/1 5pl (Sky), 4pl elsewhere, might work out ok. The trainer has a happy knack of landing gambles with unlikely types at this track on Saturdays with only a handful of runners per year.

Good luck all
I've just checked it out and its now 25/1 from 40/1 at PP but If I do stick a bet on in that race I would go for Dasher Drasher EW. It is lightly raced and is in great form.
I've stuck this on for this afternoon as well as another EW lucky 15 at Dundalk this evening. Good luck if your having a punt all :)

For the comp I will go with Paddy's Motorbike in the 1:50 at Ascot and Damalisque in the 1:57 at Navan. The first goalscorer I will stick with Mo Salah. This could be another goalless draw so does the first to score a penalty in a shoot out count?

No penalties. We play til someone wins or we all die

Might be worth putting in a selection for the 2.40 at Lingfield on Sunday also. That's part 4 of the comp!

Only backed one today.

Comeatchoo 10/1 each way 3:10 at lingfield.

Has form figures of 53244 here and also had a decent third at Wolverhampton last time out with today's jockey up. She takes off a valuable 3lbs.

Interestingly the 2nd in that line of form was C&D off 1lbs lower but with the jockeys claim shes 2lbs better off than that run. Now the fav may still be well treated but it's hard to keep defying the rise in weight and it's an added 6lbs today.

Not a race to go nuts on but at current prices in a 10runner class 6 sprint it's a very decent each way bet to me.

@colinsunderland if I find a quid down the back of the couch I'll back your nag for tomorrow

Good luck with yours, as I say, mines not based on form or anything, just the fact that the trainer has form of winning races like this with big priced horses here on a Saturday, if it's 16/1 by the morning I would be more confident and might top up the bet a bit :)

12.40A I rarely bet in Juvenile Hurdle's but Tritonic was a good horse on the flat and I know the stable think he has a good chance of winning this, he's been gelded and is working well at home. Not the biggest price, but the evens currently available works out slightly better than the 2.02 available on betfair, so would be surprised if this isn't odds on at the start of the race. The stats also back up the selction, Alan King has had 3 runners in this race since 2012, winning with all 3, showing he targets this race. His form with first time out runners this season is excellent, 29.11% which increases to 48.15% with flat recruits rated 80 and above (Tritonis is rated 99 on the flat). Think this is an excellent short priced bet today.
