Hi guys,

I'm new here I've been gambling for the last 15 years (almost half my life) - until 6 months ago I only gambled on sports mainly horse racing and a little football (soccer)... but I got caught out with one of those 'Free Play' FOBT vouchers in Coral a few months back and have had a fondness for video slots since. I often browse here before I play a new slot to see what you guys make of it.. Anyway I decided to sign up to chat about some slots!!!

Much like you I enjoy a bit of sports betting too, especially the horses. My favourite bet is a lucky 15, with bigger prices horses, this gives the same feeling as a rare hit on a slot when they run well. My only piece of advice would be to stay away from the shop FOBT's, if you're going to play slots then online is the place to be.

Yes when I got addicted to FOBTs for a while I was really quite bitter that Coral where pushing players onto them - in my opinion a betting shop is for Sports betting and not a Casino! But I've come to realie that I actually enjoy video slots they are a lot of fun.

You're right about staying away from the FOBTS I've noticed their RTP is usually about 85% on a 50p spin (usually my level, only ever gone over that with the £1.25 spins on Medusa II) whereas with the online games it can be 95%-97% is that right? I'm glad that I found video slots online because at least now I can get that fix and keep the betting shop for sports which is what it's meant for!

Not just Coral but all the high street chains push these machines as that's their biggest profit maker these days, they don't want you walking in & putting your daily bet on the racing, they want that money going into the FOBT instead unfortunately. The thing with the FOBT's is that you're playing Medua II on a £1.25 spin as you say, you're biggest return with this bet in shop is £500 (400x Stake) where as with this slot online a £1.25 stake could return much more, the limits aren't 'capped' which is why it's a no brainier to play slots online rather then the FOBT. It's difficult as it is getting a cashout, so you have to give yourself the best possible chance I believe.

The RTP varies from machine to machine, they should all be available on the website.

I was playing Medusa II online through the Ladbrokes website. Am I wrong in thinking that the RTP is set by the developer (in this case NextGEn I think they are called) and that the operator can't change them? I want to play with Guts I really like their website but I am having problems with their customer service, I've sent them proof of address and a passport scan but they still won't fully verify me - do you know if I can contact a Guts rep on here as their customer service is poor?

We could discuss the FOBT's for sometime, they're not worth playing & when you next think about slipping a score into the terminal, just tell yourself that it would be better off spent online with a truer chance.
