The UKGC wants max stake £2 quid, so casinos up the minimum stakes to force people to spend more because they need to plug the gap. You couldn't make it up...

This shows the UKGC don't have a single clue what they are doing.
I'd say the UKGC knows exactly what it's doing.

They're trying to make gambling the least attractive and unenjoyable for players, as they can.

Kind of agree, however if in years to come there are no or next to no UK facing casinos making money from, UK players, how are they going to hand out their ridiculous huge fines and fund their staff Xmas parties etc?

They'd be able to scale the operation right down then.
I'd say it's all about keeping the money in the economy, rather than it going to foreign banks via gambling.
If your average joe stopped gambling, most of the money they were spending on gambling would just be spent elsewhere on goods and services in the UK. Therefore the loss of tax from the casino would be covered by the VAT on those goods and services.

well some they do care about gambling in UK coz they not killing Casinos but they killing 119,000 jobs and contributes £7.7bn to the economy and generates £4.5bn for the Treasury each year, so do they want 119k ppl Unemployed lose £7.7bn a year ? only 8 month past from this year UKGC all read got penalties Casinos for over £40m
I dont think UK gamblers have problem they start playing on low stake or move to black market, Casinos and UK will lose much more than all gamblers

wining £2k or more right now on any UK casino is high risk your wining will get stuck for 5-6 weeks or more, well dealing with SOW
some casinos even on £150 win they asking for SOW

For every one $10 slot player you need 50 x 20c players for the same turnover. There is a lot less admin work and frustration involved dealing with medium and high rollers. The 20c players whinge and moan a lot but provide very little revenue and are maybe overall cost negative to the business when overheads are taken into account.

I can understand the amount of logs required to store all those player session that can run into a zillion of pages containing that betting data. Also the profit marging on 20 cents bet placed is quite low in comparison to what administrative tasks are involved.

By putting it on 2 pound minimum you cut the amount of administration but also raise profits for the casino per placed bet or spin. I'm affiliating for a while and it really suprises me the margins. Its just designed like that to make huge turnovers and from a financial aspect gambling is the dumbest thing you can do. Even if you would be betting on being just lucky the chances are so slim.

played on casumo yesterday and my fav game is now minimum stake £2, thats on captain venture, lets see how that goes.
Hi there @steveyboy,

I'm sorry to hear you've had some issues with this but thank you for bringing it to our attention!

We have looked further into this with our team, and they've confirmed that no changes were made from our end on bet limits here at Casumo. However, we've reached out to the game provider to investigate and can confirm the bet limits are back to what you're used to. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Can I ask if you reached out to us about this by email or live chat when you noticed this? Thanks :)

well after being fully verified about 4/6 weeks ago, now casumo wants 30 days statement showing payslips, if self employed tax return. now considering when i joined where it said occupation i put RETIRED so no payslips available but when they had 4 pages of bank statements they can see i do not work i am RETIRED. so now not playing there again.

I think it is about time that if casinos are going to make players jump through all these hoops and keep on moving the goal posts, they should instead perform the SoW before allowing anyone to make a deposit.....
true but that would still not stop them they will always want more, plus they would miss out on holding withdrawals hostage.

Sounds like they did you a solid. Better off not playing there by what you’ve been through.

Yes utterly ridiculous! I am self employed and never ever would I send in my tax return. This is one of the main reasons I bailed totally on the UK casino scene. Have not played in the UK going on 2 years now maybe a little longer. And wont ever go back. The biggest joke is when some 22 year old CS agent without a clue asked me to send such sensitive personal information through email and tried to convince me it "was secure" yeah right jog on.

Will never do another SOW in my life again ever.
