Just going through my daily spam and noticed a deposit bonus from .888 casino, I had a quick look at their T&C`s lmao...........

4. All bonuses received via funds deposited by NETELLER or MoneyBookers may be withdrawed only after wagering a total of 100 (one hundred) times the bonus.

Made this thread just in case those at Cassava are wondering why they did not win casino/group of the year again .

P.S.

It`s withdrawn not withdrawed.

Ladbrokes was 20x deposit. Cassava have long had a 50x bonus for Neteller, so have just increased it to 100x. The eWallets just don't give a s***. I have pointed this out to my Neteller VIP manager on a number of occasions, and this happens even with casinos that Neteller themselves promote, yet they have done nothing about it. They CAN do a great deal, they can put pressure on the merchants because they are effectively taking business away from Neteller and Moneybookers and strongly encouraging their players to use competing services to deposit and withdraw.

Neteller and Moneybookers could play "hardball", and make it a condition of the merchant agreement that players will not face any kind of discrimination just because they use Neteller or Moneybookers, and that failure to abide by this will result in the termination of their ability to accept Neteller and Moneybookers altogether. Given how big this pair are as deposit methods, this WILL hurt the casinos, even though they appear to not want players using these methods.

In the future, they are going to find it harder to get credit card deposits because the banks are seeing gambling as high risk, and are trying to discourage customers from using credit cards for it, and on top of this we have the spread of regulation that has often come with banks being told to block all unauthorised operators from taking deposits, and only allowing deposits through for operators with a domestic permission to operate. In the past, it was simply unregulated, so deposits would go through because it was neither legal nor illegal, so was treated much like any other online payment to a foreign company.

I have seen the effect myself. In 2004, gambling deposits on a credit card were simply "purchases", and went through as such. Now they are a specific category by themselves, and cards impose stricter terms, and even charges, simply because a "purchase" was coded as "betting and gambling". They also flag the player's entire credit worthiness as "high risk" simply because they have significant "betting and gambling" transactions on their cards.

Cassava could find they face a famine of depositing players in the near future, especially those who read the terms first, and then deposit.

I heard Ladbrokes were close to buying 888 last year but the deal fell through. No details.

Daz

Yes, you are correct. The last official statement regarding a possible transaction is from April last year:

Further to the announcement made by 888 on 20 December 2010 concerning discussions with Ladbrokes plc regarding a possible transaction, the Board of 888 announces that the parties have agreed to discontinue talks.

Same thing happened regarding Sportingbet:

In response to press speculation, Ladbrokes announced on 23 June 2011 that it was in highly preliminary discussions with Sportingbet PLC ("Sportingbet") regarding a possible offer for Sportingbet. Ladbrokes today announces that these discussions have been mutually terminated.
