I surrender

I keep hoping for the win that makes all this worth it but I realize it will never happen.

If I win, I give it back ( be honest, who doesn't eventually) and when I lose I figure I have had bad luck. Ouch!

I have to be very unlucky or just plain stupid to keep giving my money away. I am opting for stupid because thats what I must be to keep doing it.

I know you can win at online gambling, doesn't everyone? It's a surefire way to make a quick buck!

I will continue to read about everyone's good fortune, but they have taken my last deposit. I am not a problem gambler. I only risk what I have to be entertained with, but I think I will seek better entertainment than watching my balance dissappear and then getting a prompt to go to the cashier.

If I gave it to someone in dire need that I never met before I would feel better the next day.

That sounds better than getting spam about how I can win, win win!!!!

Good luck everyone!

Not bitter, just utterly defeated.

catrina m, I understand that feeling so much :)

Your experience with gambling is not unique, it's the same for everyone of us. Everyone will have the same good/bad luck, it will just appear that people win more based on how they present themselves on these forums. We are always heading towards a zero balance, hitting the feature just delays this a little.

There are far better hobbies out there. With gambling you will always experience lows, like you are feeling right now. Just remember how you feel right now and remember if you continue to gambling you will have this feeling many more times in the future. It's not a nice thought.

When it stops being profitable

Gambling will never be profitable.... unless you can defy the laws of mathematics

... or use bonuses in the opposite spirit that they were given
... or you work for the casino

Bonuses can not be given in "spirit". If the so called spirit is that the customer is in no way meant to profit than just where is the "give", and just where is the "bonus"?

Just about every single bonus is advertised as "free cash" to put into your pocket. The so called "spirit" of bonuses must be understood from the attending bonus promotion. [It's cash profits for players all the way baby!!]

Such bonus promotions convey the unmistakable message that there is a PROFIT to be made from the receipt of a bonus.

Bonus "spirit" = the opportunity to profit.

But let's be clear - there ain't no "spirit" in a bonus (unless you believe in ghosts).

Catrina m would not have suffered a loss (overall) using a bonus. On that Slots Wizard, I know we agree.

If one is truly to advocate on behalf of players then one must surely start and end with the plea to always play with a bonus. PLAY with a BONUS or simply lose more and more cash to greedy corporates and ever greedy affiliates.

Yes, but do that once and you'll be banned and perhaps not even paid.

Even a standard deposit bonus usually carries such hugh wagering requirments that you will on average lose more than the bonus is worth. All a bonus really does is extend your 'play time'

If you have had enough, isnt trying to be banned the ultimate goal. You wont be losing anymore:D:D

If you are banned because you broke the rules then you will lose even more money. The best thing to do is email the casino and tell them to permanently close your account and not to open it again under any circumstances.

You don't have to break the rules to get permanently banned :)

If that's true I've been defying the laws for 7-years.

I have been 'bonus banned' at 1 or 2 casinos from 130+, but always got paid.

On average (most bonuses), yes I agree. But as long as your above average results outweigh your below average results you'll be quids in.

I have no wish to de-rail this thread any further - this is about someone stopping gambling.
Bonus 'hunting' does not suit everyone, and if you're not even getting value for your money... stop!

I know the feeling kat about a month ago it stopped being FUN. So for few
weeks i stopped playing. Laughing at myself here i made a deposit into clubworld
well i played that deposit for days was just 20 i hit so many free spins retrigered and had a bunch of us around watching me. Now that was fun for me. Past few weeks i kept a log on deposits and found that on the ones i took a bonus with
never got any cash returned to me. Now last 9 deposits i have 7 withdraws
1 im still playing and one i busted. Once its not fun its like opening up the van window and tossing your money out on that highway as most of us know that big one will never hit us. How many times do we spin again and again in rtg
thinking the bell will go and rj will be ours. Im not holding my breath on that
but for now its fun again and ill stay next week maybe ill stop again.
GOOD LUCK feeling will pass hun hang in there.

Let's not kid ourselves...Limiting our deposit options isn't cutting down on gambling. We either take it serious and STOP or admit we have a problem. There is nothing wrong with completely walking away from it. Gamblock is an excellent program to buy for about $30. It will assure you that your gambling days on that computer is over with. Trust me, you're not missing a damn thing by not being apart of the gambling community. Go join your local G.A meetings. There are lots of people just like you and I there to support you. Don't just sit at your computer and donate to these online bookie. There was a reason why GW Bush signed that anti-gaming law. Alot of Americans who quit when the law was passed. Have saved themselves alot of sorrow. If you are truely tired. GIVE IT UP and get HELP! People will help you if you let them.

great advice and i agree with you but......to say that bush signed an anti gaming law to protect us is abserd. that is another debate. to make this thread political is not right. best of luck to you catrina...

Let's just take Cartrina's statement for what she said. We shouldn't go reading things into it and adding things that she didn't say or take this opportunity to get on our soapbox about the issues. It's not the time to for that. She said she is not a problem gambler, she is just fed up with throwing her money away.

Let's just wish her the best and let her know we understand where she is coming from and I do understand Cartrina.

BB

that's why I play for free 90% of the time. I like to see what happens in the statistics and look at the different games and stuff. I never liked the losing money part, and I've never had any good wins. So basically, I mostly play for free, use free bonuses or whatever, and don't even bother to deposit most of the time.

Funny you should mention this...since the UIGEA, I have completly stopped playing slots online..I go to the B&M casinos now every few months for an overnight visit and I have so much more money and feel so much better knowing I am not dumping money arbitrarily into these casinos that I have found myself tipping the girl in the bathroom a lot more..and because I know I am there to have a great time and I will blow what I have, I also figure why not share the wealth while I am up in winnings..the drink girl and snack bar help always gets more from me now too..

And I feel a lot better knowing they can use it better than the casinos online that have tightened up so much (I found this out on my last venture into online gaming which actually helped me quit)that it is truly no fun anymore playing online and they do not deserve funds (our money) this way from anyone...

Wierd wierd wierd............that's how I feel about giving away money to any casino.......from the number of winner screenies (or lack thereof) one would have to believe there really is a "win" switch.........and it's been in the off mode for awhile!:eek2::eek2:

Good for you Catrina.

I surrendered myself a while back, when I FINALLY realized that all of these (certainly the ones I've been in....every single one of them.) casinos are nothing but thieves and cheaters.
They cheat, and they lie, and they'll come up with any stupid excuse not to pay, should you be so extremely lucky to EVER be in a position, where you can actually withdraw some of your own money.
And to top it off, they'll "offer" bonuses, that if they didn't cheat, they would all go bankrupt within a week.
From my experience ... the more they "offer", the less you'll ever "win".
Take Playtech group, Vegas red, Tropez, Bellini, Cameo and more...
They "offer" you 300% bonuses to sign up at their "sister" casinos, (now sister casinos is a fun term, given that the support people in all these casinos are the same people, and they will generously "upgrade your account" in ANY of the other so called "sister casinos", so that your play time will be extended, at best, by half an hour...your outcome however will always be the same....you end up with ZERO) and it's guaranteed ... you will never EVER be over your initial deposit + bonus, once wagering requirements are met ... EVER! You will be very CLOSE to your initial deposit + bonus, but ALWAYS be under, still they make you belive that just one win, and you can actually cash out....it'll never come, and if it does...remember that they'll steal back the "bonus" you got....that's not payable. Actually I've come to believe, that the whole Bonus circus is actually what they live off ... try telling them, that you don't want a bouns, and that you'd like more comp points instead ... I tried that, and they almost laughed me out of town.
I challenge ANYONE to show me play records that show a net outcome from ANY of these casinos after taking their "generous offers" of 300% "bonuses".
So yes...they cheat, and they lie to you, and their games are rigged in the worst way, so that their "progressive Jackpots" will look really really nice...think about it....with people playing 300% bonuses, that get these jackpots up, and with a payout percentage overall at say .. .90% ... how mutch is left to win in regular game play ? Please don't even MENTION the words Random number generator...it just makes me laugh too hard.
But the support people are REALLY nice, and they're all girls called Barbara, Michelle, or Chantanelle, and they'll call you "dear", at least if you're a guy ... whatever JOHN....get a job :).
I really need to have truly, independant people look really deep into these casinos, and tell people how it REALLY works, before I put another cent into ANY of them, and that goes for the lot of them.
I've failed to find ANY "winner screenshots" from these casinos as of yet, except for my own ... now this "win" was from BEFORE I was even CLOSE to meeting the wagering requirements, and the final result....guess :)
The only time I ever had a cashout was the very first time I played in Vegas Red, and it was a very modest one, believe me.
So you're making a wise decision in not feeding them any more...let them WORK to get their mercedes, like honest people do....don't give it to them, and certainly don't let them steal it from you :)

Good luck Catrina.

I agree that when it stops being fun or entertaining it's time for a break.

Say I deposit $20 and I get 10 or 15 minutes of play and no bonuses, I don't feel I've gotten my moneys worth. Sometimes that $20 lasts an hour or so and you a least get to have some excitement. Then when the moneys gone I still feel like it was entertaining.

yes we have all been there. i decided about a month ago to only dep about once a week and it was in the amount of 25 to 50 dollars or so. then i would take a bonus with a no max cashout limit and hope for the good. even though i didnt win i got to play a little longer and when i lost i didnt feel as bad because i cut my deposit down by a few hundred. i was going thru so much money. it was bad. and when it hit me that s when i said i have to fix this problem,. its really hard to stop until it hits you and you know for yourself that you need to stop . i was so sick at myself for spending that much. im really good with money and finances, but gambling made me lose the meaning of a dollar. anyway i had read posts about people quitting and i said yeah right like you can really do that. but then when i was so disgusted with my self did i understand that yes i can set my limits but i was only able to do that when i had truly had enough, i didnt go cold tukrkey because i still play a couple times a week but i have control again of my spending. so what if i lose 25 to 50 dollars per week now then so what if thats all i spend as a past time then im doing good. its the 1.000 and 600.00 at a time that was getting me in big trouble.
