With the interesting enought fact that all online gambling is offshore, why is this? Why are there non inland the USA, or maybe I am missing that one somewhere. Does the USA have something against online casinos actually being inside the US?

2. Has anyone ever heard of any of the offshore casions actually trying to collect on unpaid sportsbooks, borrowed money, or as I have read in some forums borrowed instat ecash? Would they even want to put the negetive spot light on a business that is in a gray area?

Any inputs on the 2 questions would be intersting to see what people think.

I thought only explicity illegal if you are sports-betting. Anything else is a greyer area.

The 1961 Wire Wager Act specifically prohibits the use of telephone lines for the purpose of placing a sporting bet. Since the Internet uses telephone lines, courts have consistently ruled the Wire Act also covers Web sports wagering, but a recent federal appeals court decision said it was beyond the scope of the original law to include placing a casino bet online.

here's another one:

Citigroup Inc., the world's biggest issuer of credit cards, agreed in 2002 to stop processing online gambling transactions using its cards. In most U.S. states, unauthorized betting and gambling are illegal, regardless of whether it is done online.

For some reason our wonderful politicians would rather gamble with lives than money. Some logic huh?
Another thing about the wire act it mentions no betting via phone lines, many today including myself use cable. Does cable now fall under the phone line umbrella?
