Dear funtimebingo.com ex-customer!

We are glad to inform you, that funtimebingo was hacked more than 10 days ago. We are the people who hacked '

em for ransom. What did we do? Well, we just downloaded all their bases (of Credit Cards, of clients, banking info and all),

encrypted all content of their harddrives (backups and all bases), that we deleted all from

their harddrives. They are so stupid - they even hadn't a tape backup for their critical info =)

We asked only 10K for all, but your privacy is nothing for 'em. So we didn't get money from 'em and here is what happen next.

All their bookkeeping bases with all your winnings will be sent to Tax department of you country.

As you know - you had to pay taxes from your winnings (did you?) and in some countries online gambling like casino or bingo

is prohibited. All your info also will be sent to law offices which collecting info about illegal gamblers and will provide

it to your bank. It will very be VERY bad for your credit history (bank may cancel some of your credits immediately). Also your

private info (banking info, Credit cards info) will be sold on hacker's underground auctions (Darling - did you see this $3.000

payment for notebook on your CC statement???!!!). So all troubles you will have very soon - just result of unwilling

to protect your privacy. You can keep this letter as evidence for future lawsuits again

. By the way - they don't have alot of money in their accounts - they won't be able to pay you, so be the first

and get your money back.

We can just recommend you to revise all your financial tools you used for (call to bank about your CC and so on).

So I went to Fun Time Bingo Site and this is what i found:
Dear Customer,

This site was taken down due to scheduled maintenance to our servers last Friday. Upon further inspection, there were unexpected errors encountered on the servers. We are working 24 hours a day to rectify this problem. Once it is solved, we will notify you ASAP.

We apologise for the inconvience caused and thank you for your patience.

Have you heard anything about this ?

This is a first. I've written to both the casino and to DCEG (I think they are still a licensee of theirs) to see if someone will give me an answer.

Most of it seems like hollow threat (contacting tax offices, etc.) but I don't like the idea of an extortionist having access to your credit card number. I would keep a daily vigil overwatching your cc activity. Claiming it to be stolen is a possibilty, if this is what was used at the casino.

After reveiwing my records this morning of my accounts with casinos/bingo sites, I beleive I never used a credit card here, I think they did get my email addy off the server if anything and had a generic letter sent out,,at least I hope this is the case ..
Thank you for taking the time to see what you can find out about this matter!

Sporting911 carried a story on this yesterday, claiming the ransom demand was $30K. We're running an InfoPowa story on it at present.

It sounds like empty threats designed to get you to put pressure on Fun Time, but one can never be sure and Bryan's advice above is sound. If you haven't supplied your CC there then they can't have the detail - they probably just sent the same email to every email address they got from the hacking.

The English is not too good on this. Russian hackers perhaps?

This just in from the casino:

Bryan,

An ex-employee of Funtime stole the email addresses of our players and he sent out that email. He doesn't have any credit card info or anything personal info of our players. That was sent to put panic into our players.

Please inform the players that this is the case.

Regards,

Fun Time Bingo

Y'know, on second thoughts....if this was just a disgruntled employee who had helped himself to the email addresses to satisfy a vindictive urge (as opposed to hacking) then why has the site been down for some time?

Well i was feeling better about this situation till jetset brought up the point about the site being down for some time .. and then Bryans big smile LOL

I finaly took time today to listen to your radio show, it was Great!! I could kick my self for not listing to it sooner, been going threw arcives and listening to older broadcasts.. I am hooked now lol

Thanks trashme62,

This just in:

Bryan,

We are in the process of a software upgrade and we should be up by tomorrow.

Regards,

Fun Time Bingo

This is still not ringing true for me - a software upgrade when the site has reportedly been down for something like 10 days? And Funtime Bingo has not been around all that long if memory serves me correctly?

And why no comment on the disgruntled employee and what action they are taking against him?

I have played at so many bingo sites, I am not even sure if I ever visited FunTimeBingo. Is there any relation between them and BingoFun? This is a real important question, especially since BingoFun has been around for quite a while.
If someone could answer this question, I would be most grateful.

I must address the "disgruntled employee" now:

If I were you I would seek mental help, before you need permanent physical care.
