Ok this is about using Visa gift cards to fund play. I don't have any accounts with WP, ewallet, moneybookers, etc. I just go buy a gift card when I am in the mood.

It's been a while since I have deposited, yesterday I felt like trying again.
Went and bought my card as usual. Then the day from hell started.
It appears the good folks at Visa Gift cards have caught on to the transaction codes being used by online casinos. Even the places that claim they don't send it through as "gaming" got shot down. The card is good as I eventually got it to go through fine at a CW casino, but not before trying at Titan and Inet (yes I waited some time in between as I know they reject if you try too soon).
Inet says they can't be used there because they put it through as a gaming transaction. That threw me off as it was my first time trying to dep. there and I thought all onlines cloaked the charge.
OK so I moved on to Titan. Even though I have used these cards with Titan before with no issues it suddenly became a problem, Even the poor rep. who tried to help me out was stymied. Their charges are supposed to go through as store purchases, yet I called the Visa peeps and they said NO GAMBLING CHARGES allowed.
I don't know if they are really starting to crack down and look more carefully or I just ran into a bad bad day with this thing. It sure seems like they KNOW what the charges are even if they say "onlinestore.com" or whatever is used to make it look OK to charge.
Since this is my preferred way of funding (less hassle) I think I am gonna have to learn to deal with not playing much anymore.
Does anyone else use these cards and have you noticed issues recently?

PS- also tried at BetPhoenix, also a big NOPE :(

get a separate checking account in a bank that doesn't share your household bills or important stuff

call it any thing you want hobby , gardening, scuba diving club , etc

then get qt and ewallet express =end of problem at least as of yesterday :thumbs up:

Thanks Rocky:o. Yeah I could do that stuff, but at this point I think I will hold off and see how things shake down with the US.

In the meantime I was just doing my usual and trying to play a little.
Just wondered if anyone else who uses these was having problems where there weren't any before, but I think I may be the only one here who bothers with the gift card thing though.

Get a Wired Plastic card and fund your QT thru it, min. is 50.00 plus fees but it will allow you to play almost anywhere you want. There is also Netspend whick also works with several casinos that are popular.

Its a pain in the ass and the options are getting slimmer as far as depositing goes.

You would think with all the US based players out there in cyberland, the casinos would be falling all over themselves to get us better, safe options of depositing and withdrawing. The casinos are not blind to this and im sure they have to be working on something new, thats a whole lot of market to lose.

Andi, if you haven't already...this thread is a must read for you. I think it will explain everything re: casinos miscoding transactions, denials, etc. Many of them don't miscode the transaction. I use a Visa card, and my online statement quite clearly shows 32RED PLC - Gibraltar and Inetbet - Kent, or something like that, lol. Point is they show up as gambling charges, but I'm Canadian, not US.

There were companies (maybe still are) who miscoded the gambling transactions in an attempt to fraudulently put them through...and I believe those were the ones who ended up with hefty fines levied against them.

Anyway, alot is explained here. And as a US citizen, if you don't have a QT account AND a bank account, how are you ever going to cashout if you win?

Yeah I had been keeping an eye on that thread a while back Pina.
I wondered if they would start in on the gift cards at the time myself.

I used to just go right through my bank account and neteller. I did not play online at all after 05' until recently so I have not actually done any cashouts as of yet (and yes I probably would have if all was "normal" and I had a QT or something set up). I read on here about using gift cards and decided to give them a try, and since then have just been piddling around and playing using them. IF I did finally decide/and or win enough to cash out I had planned on just doing the check thing like a lot of US'ers.
