Do people give a sh*t about these sort of things, or is it only cash cash cash that floats players boats today?

Free t-shirts used to be all the rage, but haven't been seeing them so much lately--and we have some really cool designs. I think they still cause a buzz at exhibits/trade shows... (hmmm should we do an online gaming show for players? Has there ever been a casinomeister party somewhere for forum participants?)

we'll certainly have them for our player parties.... anyone like that as another incentive?

Thanks for your input.

I like stuff like this...especially if it is a "surprise". If the T-shirt is decent quality, I'd probably wear it, especially if not white. If I joined a casino, had my first cashout and received a T-shirt or other promotional item by snail mail I'd be delighted, or a card inviting me to enter a code and choose style and size.

Even if it went as a clothing donation somewhere, it would be worn and provide the casino with additional advertising.

3Dice organised a party for CM members a few months ago but you must have live chat that is available for all to make it a success. That one was real good though I didnt win anything in the contests.

Presently, I doubt whether anything is better than cash which in turn means extended playtime. I think most of us we are going to lose eventually so if we can get the occasional cashout we are happy.

I dont mind anything free, but I would'nt decide where i play based on getting one or the prospect of getting a free t-shirt. I would be more likely to play if I got free cash bonuses! I would personally not want to wear a t-shirt that advertises any online casino anyway in public, FWIW.

Sending the players a little extra in the mail is in my opinion an underestimated incentive. I have heard that 32red sometimes sends chocolate and wine to their club rouge members, and I have gotten both vegas-tickets and a spa-package from the JF VIP Lounge casino (but thats a while ago, guess the economy has affected the casinos as well). I guess a T-shirt also would be pretty cool, but there is a limit for such coolness. Tacky postcards/notebooks/calenders is quickly thrown in my garbage can.

I don't mind t-shirts, as long as they're tasteful and not tacky.

Just to throw a wrench in the mix: What about more tangible gifts, such as a 200pc chip set that includes a case....the good clay chips that are close to the weight of normal casino chips, which is between 8.5 and 11.5 grams.

edit: I was invited to a blackjack tourney during my last trip to Vegas, and every player was given a gift of what I described above....It even had a dealer button, 2 decks of cards and a blackjack table cloth that you could use on any table...it was very cool, and unexpected. This was at Harrah's.

There were 4 colors of chips and 50 of each - Red, white, green and black.

Sending WINNERS a little extra is an underestimated incentive...you want the players with your cash, those with already positive feelings to return to play more, as opposed to moving on the the next SUB.

Hell, I wish more casinos thought outside the box. Why limit sending gifts only to the winners? Hell, I'd be very impressed with a casino if they sent me something as simple as a t-shirt, after making my first deposit - win or lose.

The key would be NOT to advertise that you're doing this, and just do it out of the blue. Doing stuff like that would definitely make a player remember that casino for years to come. Sure, it'd cost a few bucks for each player that deposited, but hey, that's the cost of doing business, and I would almost guarantee that their player retention rates would increase significantly.

What a great idea that sure is thinking outside the box. Also when a player wears one of these it advertises for your casino and most times when the shirts are one of those that catch the eye kinda thing. You always get where did you get that from. I have 3 older boys that live in different tshirts all the time and compete with their friends on who can seek out the coolest shirt.
I know silly and to think these guys are in their mid 20s.

If CM will agree, I'll do cool CM/BL t-shirts for all Cm forums members who want them. I'll need you to sign up with BL (through a CM link please) I reckon to get snail mail addresses etc. and so my CFO doesn't kill me but we'll work out the details shortly. I'll also include US guys reading this although i can't take your play today due to that %$#@!&#^%$%#@ former President and cronies.. but that I WILL limit to real CM forum members who have some history here (and if in queston I will throw it up here for discussion). So as usual some t&cs wil apply but what the hell... i did numbered collector item t shirts before--these will be similar in quanttiy and quality that are cool. not dorky...

Hell Ya

Hiya.
that's the cost of doing business, and I would almost guarantee that their player retention rates would increase significantly.

This is not rocket science. A Shirt, or Hat, or iron on logo, anything.

1. It is free advertising, and later on when i become an affiliate for a few Casino's i want every means known to man to advertise.

2. Most people in the US are confused. They Think, on line gambling is illegal, but they see all the poker tournaments on ESPN, and Casino's advertising on TV, and all the on line casino shirts an hats that people have, and thus conclude, "Hmmm, may be it is not as illegal as i thought".

3. People spen the money. People spend the bonus, or use them all up. People hit, "Ctr/Alt/Delete, and remove Casino's from their PC all the time. But a Shirt, or Hat, or Pen with a logo on it, or a Fridge magnet with logo on it, they will keep. And one day they will come back if they left, simply because the ITEM caused them to remember and say, "I will give them another try".

4. It becomes something you can not get anywhere else. Like the Coin Cups that some Casino's here in Las Vegas have.

And most importantly, It is always Cost Effective, for you, the Casino. You could even have a few different items with pics on your main page, and let the player choose what they wanted.

EXAMPLE: All local Casino's here in Vegas cash paychecks. FREE. Most give you a few tokens, or something to play a reward machine, and you MAY, win nothing, something big, or something small, like a hat or t shirt of that Casino.

Many new people that move here wonder why they do this, and do it for free? hehehe, The Casino just got you in the door, up to the cashier cage, and you now have your Entire Paycheck in hand, in cash, inside the casino. Now, hehehe, let's see you walk out, past all the table games, past all the slot machines, and not at least put in a few $.

What about us unfortunate souls in the USA? Do we get a booby prize? :D

Here's an idea:

Run a contest to see who can create the best t-shirt design, then give out prizes to the winner, runner up, etc.. That would be good on many, many levels.

...I'll send you an invoice for my consulting fees later...

;)

Yea, a contest. Everyone loves em. + You are letting your player base do all the work for you, idea wise at least.

ps: "I won money at a On Line Casino, and all i got was this lousy T Shirt".

If anyone submits this type of Generic saying, i vote to kick them out of all casino's, and off this, and all, message boards..........hehehe.

I was sent a Dom Perignon champagne hamper by William Hill after a big win in their online casino. That was a fantastic gift, and even though it sounds excessive it "only" cost 230, which is an amount of money that many casinos give away regularly in bonuses. I would be much more impressed to receive a quality champagne hamper than a 250 bonus by email.

The only two gifts i've received are the champagne and some wireless headphones from Belle Rock group a few years ago. That's in about 4 years of regular playing at many, many online casinos. The Belle Rock promotion was quite good because they sent me a card saying I could choose a gift. I logged onto their site and there was a choice from about 10 different gifts worth about 30-50 each.

T-shirts - black with gold writing or something edgy and cool. Good idea.

It kinda sucks being is Oz as I never ever get gift baskets or goodies like that - been playing online 8 years, spent lots of $$ and nary a single chocolate or anything sent my way.

Alex you sure know how to create a buzz....

Years ago I used to get gifts all the time from fortune lounge..dice with their logo even though I have no clue how to play..a bathrobe that was very thick and had their initials on them. I still have that bath robe and sleep under it sometimes...lol

I miss the old days!

I think it's a great idea.....I think the only thing i've ever gotten was a mouse pad a LONG time ago.....Other than that i've never been sent anything..I like the idea of black t's too,.....:D

Regarding parties for forum members, Casinomeister has for the past two or three years hosted a pub party for members in collaboration with Club World....and very enjoyable occasions they have been too. The ICE show towards the end of January sees many members in London, which is when these events are held.

Regarding T-shirts, Club Spades did an interesting promo this year, made more so by involving players in the design process. They held an online competition for a T-shirt design. Some really cool designs emerged. The story was in the Casinomeister News section. I thought it was a great idea because it involved player participation, delivered good designs and was great publicity.

I think most people get a positive vibe from a gift that shows they are appreciated....for many it's all about the cash, but there are also plenty of folks who are grateful for some other gift providing it's tastefully done and not too in-your-face commercial.

Ok, well we'll get working on it then--player driven suggestions (and we have a few designs we'll throw up there as well) and voting etc.

Definitely agree it should not be overly crass and commercial--luckily our logo doesn't even include the word casino, so you could wear it anywhere with pride.

By the way, you guys are massively under-served (unless you're all tiny players which I doubt) by the casinos you're using; I used to have an entire subdept just dealing with player gifts... and I will again once we get this thing humming along!

Cheers!

Im not going to say what group does this here in toronto as this is buzz thread.
One of my fav new casinos out there. Anyways not far from me one of the mg has a small office. As we all know their higher rollers are comp all the time with freebies, and just like using a air miles card and comp cards understandable.
What this outfit does is when they are changing over the gifts or overstocked they ship them to cdns at the low postal rates to clear them out. Great idea free stuff but it does get costly to the sender if sending from overseas.
I cant wait to see these designs and soon see instadebit in your lobby
hint hint lol

Cash is king

Cash is always king with me. But I must admit when an online casino does something special for a loyal player - that is aces in my books.

Like the time I won and the casino not only paid out quick - but they also gave me a diner for two as a bonus:thumbsup:

Killing 2 birds with 1 stone Alex? I like it though. It's about time we raised the level of competition among casinos. We are giving them our money and still treated like trash. It's time to give 'em a buzz (no pun intended:D)
