So a faulty ATM swallowed my bank card this morning, which has pretty much put me out of business for a week, until my new one arrives, and then I'll have to go through all the verification rigmarole again, damn!

It's only after such an occurrence that we realise how dependent we are upon electronic banking.

I'm beginning to feel the pain suffered by our Australian cousins now.

Oh well, a week off never did anyone any harm.

Once the new card comes through, send a pic and will be re-verified within 2 hours.

Unless you cancelled the card, so you will not be able to deposit. Atm's swallow cards all the time. The same card is normally posted back the next day.

No, I'm with the co-op, the guy said up to 5 days, plus the weekend, and its been cancelled. I've tried it, it don't work any more.

I wasn't on a bank machine, it was some mickey mouse machine outside Morrison's supermarket, not gonna do that again.

Feel your pain as that has happened to me more than once, As Dion say's they give you a temp card at some bank's here until the new one arrives. You are correct we are too dependent on electronic banking and I have been thinking for awhile to get a small safe and keep some money in there just in case. I actually don't do any banking by mobile phone as I don't trust the security.

Use paysafe at times myself. Just watch if you are using a lot of them at foreign based casinos and not UK bookies sites.

Depending on your usual method of withdrawal some casinos actually tell you you can not withdraw to it and must do a bank transfer if you use more than a couple of paysafes in a row. Some casinos even go as far as to ask for a photo of the voucher. Well GUTS has anyway lol but thats another story.

You're absolutely right, I've found I am almost unbeatable after a break. If I had more sense, I would take a break more often, but then the dopamine and adrenaline addictions get the upper hand and the discipline goes out the window.
