Farewell to Stan James Casino

The 26th of February marked the end of an era, following the acquisition of Stan James by the Unibet/Kindred Group all Stan James customers were migrated to the Unibet platform and the Stan James web/mobile sites shut down.

Stan James was an old school trusted UK high street bookmaker and I personally will be sad to see it go. It was a pleasure working for Stan James but its time for us all to move onto bigger and better things. I therefore am no longer the Casino rep for Stan James but have now moved my focus over the the Kindred UK brands (Unibet, Maria and Bingo.com) so if you do have any queries or concerns I am more than happy to try and help.

Going forward I would like to get your feedback on Unibet, Maria and Bingo.com Casino products. Have you used them, what do you like/dislike and what would you change or like to see more/less of?

Thanks in advance.

Unibet is reviewed at Casinomeister. It is an CM Accredited, vetted, and highly recommend casino listed at our site.
Good Morning.

I will mention something which I feel others here will strongly agree with (well I hope so :p)

There is very little from this group to attract players to want to make "that day's deposit" within one of the sites you mention.

I think I've had like 3-4 bonus (deposit based) offers worth taking in my lifetime membership at Unibet.

There is a lot of competition out there these days and players such as myself (low roller / small budget for slots) can usually only manage one deposit per day or say 5 times per week.

Bearing in mind that there are 1,000's out there in my situation, to attract as many of these to become regulars IMO makes good business sense, as they say small fish are sweet...

Incentives need to improve, deposit match and free spins upon deposit offes usually work the trick for most (with reasonable WR of course!)

Given the new UKGC directives with bonuses you'd have to work on keeping cash / bonus as seperate balances but doable as many other casinos are doing so.

Draws, raffles, races and not going to do it, these will only attract hi-rollers, granted as many of these customers needed as possible but I'd rather have 1,000 low rollers who keep coming back than 10 hi rollers who deposit here and there ;)

On a positive note, Unibet have an excellent games catalog and on the rare occasions I have played here, I've not had any technical issues (which are SUPER annoying when one can only deposit £20 that day and your constantly disconnecting etc, etc) payments were quick also.

You have also recently acquired my life time fave casino (32 Red) hoping, praying that you maintain their existing excellent standards :)

all the best and good luck moving forward

'end of an era....of poaching'

Joking aside, I agree with the above poster, Unibet needs more promos and bonuses for regular VIPs and players, not just the '1 ticket in the draw for every £10' but I agree everyone's job is a bit more difficult now that bonuses and promotions have to be changed. I'm also not sure what happened to the Loyalty program, there used to be plenty of Free Spins in those but I don't think the Unibet product is lacking anything, Casino games and product wise

I run a horse racing forum and it was discussed a little when the accounts were moved over, probably teething problems mainly but you need to sort your support out as I've tried a couple of times in the past to connect to live chat on unibet and gave up after 15-20 minutes, and that stops me playing there.

This was the opening post.

I got an email informing me my SJ account was moving across to Unibet the other day. (It went immediately to my junk box so only just noticed it this evening.)

I checked the site out, logging in as advised with my SJ stuff.

I noticed that records of bets were there but I only have (I think) one ante-post bet with SJ still going but when I click on 'open' bets or 'all' bets there are no signs of it.

I went into 'live chat' and gave up after waiting ten minutes for a reply.

I tried phoning and again waited ages, moving up one place in the queue in all that time.

This is clearly some kind of mickeymouse outfit.

I don't know if you have but have customer accounts from stanjames affiliates been moved over to kindred affiliates?

I was actually thinking about pushing unibet over cheltenham, but considering I rarely get any emails from unibet affiliates and I have no idea if you are doing any customer acquisition promos for next week, I probably won't bother. Compare your affiliate emails to that of say Racebets, who have been emailing me Cheltenham offers since January.

Also, general consensus was that you are mad to have scrapped the stanjames name that was trusted in the UK, whereas unibet isn't one people are as familiar with.

Having said that I hope you don't follow stanjames with how quickly they would limit players. I got limited to under £5 stakes after winning a £20 double a few years back. It only paid about £150. Lifetime revenue of my account at the time of limitation was in the negative. I haven't spent a penny with them since. I never understand why bookies limit accounts so quickly, I understand why accounts might get limited to smaller stakes, but seriously, limiting people who are placing £10-20 bets? Are they that much of a threat to a bookmaker?

I agree that a loyalty/ retention program is missing from Unibet. I get lots of promo emails from Unibet for the sports/betting side of the site but rarely anything from the casino/ slots side.

Did appreciate the one last month where there were free spins available each Wednesday.

I enjoy the variety of games and also withdrawals have been fairly fast (apart from my latest one strangely).

Hey @Azzthatch :)

Thanks for the heads up and your interest in the feedback from our members. Do you still offer 10 Free Spins on registration, in Unibet?? You used to, now I'm not sure as I can't find it on the website.

Someone should have bought unibet instead and taught them how to entice slot players:)

Ive had one ridiculous 10% reload offer since ive played there...I think. If its more it aint by much

Can't believe they've been allowed to poach both Stan James and 32 Red. Not great for anyone, certainly not players, if Unibet's previous disdain of UK players is anything to go by. You'd think it would've been the 32Red group doing all the buying

Stan James for 19 mil, who sanctioned that stupidity? So no, don't colour me impressed with this move. It'll be a bit of noise at first and then normal service resumed, ie to the benefit of the Scandinavian players

I signed up to Stan James years ago hoping to make a few quid from arb betting , never used them for probably 6 years at least .

Since the Unibet takeover I seem to get emails and sms every couple of days now. Seems very excessive and will probably become annoying soon.

Maybe if there were some decent offers in the mails it might entice a deposit, but seems like mass spam mail outs so far.

Cant help wondering why someone might create a thread, ask for and get people’s opinions / feedback and then not check back in, not even once, to read the opinions that you asked for......

Well, now they know what the players want, like a mini-survey, but then they need to approve a budget for the bonuses, so they're probably discussing it in a fancy boardroom with graphs and charts...Probably the OP cannot make the decision to grant bonuses instantly, more like a messenger to the management.

It's funny because 5-6 years ago, Unibet was shouting how they treat their players the best, how their players choose them because of value they give to them and brand trust/ recognition. Seems like Casino players are not feeling as valued as they were before.

Obviously I wouldn’t expect anything to happen so soon, if at all. It would just be courteous to actually check for replies.

The whole point of my last post was:
they don’t know what we want so can’t be the messenger because they haven’t been back on our amazing forum since making the original post on Thursday morning .......

yeah, you're right, he can't give feedback if he hasn't checked it, maybe it's a once-a-week thing? Either way, better late than never for Unibet to start enticing players to try their amazing slots by giving out some proper bonuses like they used to.

You know I used to play at stan james about 3 years ago. It was my main casino for a long time maybe around a year and a half. And over that time I did get goodwills from support. I deposited a hell of a lot too over that time. But one reason I stopped was they became slower at processing withdraws and then support stopped giving goodwills.

And well now Unibet have taken over from them. Well what can I say, Unibet was just as worse for goodwills and loyalty. Live chat was useless and they was never able to give any goodwills. I also played at Unibet for around a year before I got sick of lack of loyalty and they was even slower at withdraws than stan james was.

So because of all that I actually self excluded at Unibet as a sign to tell them I hate them. Not because I have a problem. Because I do not have a problem. I did it out of spite. Same for stan james too, out of spite.

I just hope that that wont bite me in the butt once that new GamStop system gets implemented into more casinos. I suppose only time will tell.

And now I never self exclude from any out of spite because of the fact that new GamStop system might cause problems down the line.

Hi guys,

Apologies for not checking in earlier, I have been out of the office.

Thank you all for your feedback thus far, I will communicate this back to the team with an aim on working towards improving the Unibet experience for you all.

I spent most of my time with stanjames over the last 5 years and never had 1 problem.
