Hey all,

As of yesterday I found out Facebook all of a sudden delisted my page that I had linked to my affiliate website.
Just like that, no warning, no message, no nothing.
The only way I found out is when I wanted to post a new post on my page.

I saw a message that stated that I could not promote any gambling content on my page as this was against their page policies.

Well I don't know which donkey head pulls the strings over there but I was doing this since 3 months!!
Simultaneously I was posting the same content on Twitter.

This is the message I got:

So after 3 months!!!!!!!! and 250 posts they decided all of a sudden to pull the plug.
Worst part is, I paid for boosting some of my posts and they all were authorized and of course they took my money willingly from my credit card.
I have spent about 60 Euro on advertising and it was actually going quite well.

I find this disgusting behaviour.

Of course I will not appeal against this decision as it would be a waste of my time.
However I did send them a nice e-mail and told them it would be wise to refund my money for paid adverts that would have been against their own page policies.

I am honest, I had no idea what you could or not could use a separate Facebook page for.
I have my private account and within that account I made my own page just to try and make a few bucks from affiliating.

Apparently Facebook can target under aged people and kids with no issues to play their so called "social games" where people have spend millions and millions on and also they target me all the time on my own private news feed with sign up bonuses for casinos or to play this new great social game.
All these adverts are ALSO sponsored so as a company you are allowed to promote your products but as an affiliate you are not wanted.

That sucks and is a bunch of BS.

Worst is they took money from me (it is not the amount that bothers me but the fact they approved my campaigns) and then just a few weeks after they delist my page.

Ah well, another lesson learnt in my still young affiliate days.

Do NOT use Facebook, they do not want Joe regular to earn a few bucks.

And their policy? It seems their policy is being enforced by a bunch of clowns.
One approves my ads, the other one delists my page.

Anyway just have to stick to Twitter / Instagram for now.
No issues there.

You could try to optimise your site with certain keywords, to bring you more traffic. Don't ask me how, I'm clueless, but I believe that is the way to get on top of the search pages.

i have heard about people who suddenly got contact by facebook and demands around £500 monthly to gave gambling related content etc. yeah they are bunch of thieves its all about £$£$£$£ look how they dealt with privacy as well sorry to hear this mate. Youtube is very good for traffic by the way but difficult at them moment because of all the bans.

Hi lotusch Yes facebook has made or making changes in regards to advertising, What all that entails I don't know but I know a youtuber I watch that teaches about online business and marketing has said it's going to get more difficult to advertise on Facebook. Glad it was going good for you as I have had no luck for me on Facebook, Get a little more interaction through instagram at the moment.

Facebook are really dodgy when it comes to affiliate advertising, you need to read the policy word for word and follow it to the letter. You also need to be approved and registered as a gambling partner. To do that you need to provide allsorts of information, who/what/where you are advertising, and most importantly either a gambling license or a letter from a solicitor stating you are allowed to advertise gambling services in your country and you are authorised to advertise on behalf of the firms you are promoting.

FWIW, Facebook customers tend to be pretty low value.

Yeah I was reading about that and I did check the forms you need to fill out..Too much hassle and way too much paperwork involved.
What pisses me off if that they allowed my page to be live for a few months, spamming me with adverts that I can boost my posts and eventually when I did so they were approved. Suddenly someone else within Facebook decided my page was to be delisted.
Like I said, without ANY communication and they just took money from me for advertising purposes that they deem against their own policies.

There is an office in Dublin, I am really tempted to go there and just go and ask for some clarification on this!
Not for the money, they can shove that up their buttocks but I would like some answers how it is possible adverts were approved and my page was able to be online for 3 full months before they decided to delist it.

Unless you get numerous complaints your page will never be looked at, however when you advertise or boost posts, then they are manually looked at. I was using 2 pages for around 2.5 years each and never had a problem, on a third page I boosted a post, within 5 days the page was delisted.

however when you advertise or boost posts, then they are manually looked at. .

That is the whole mystery..How can my adverts be manually looked at and approved while THEY KNOW my page is against their policies.
That really bothers me.

I loved the way you could pick a location by putting a pin on the map.
I did a campaign for MrGreen and put the pin in the middle of Dublin and had 500+ clicks on that and about 20 depositing sign ups.
Paid 8 dollars or so for that campaign and got much more back.

pissed off.

Not the only scandal. An undercover sting has revealed that if you are a big page that brings in loads of traffic, you become immune from regular moderation. This is why Tommy Robinson was able to stay on Facebook for so long despite the hate he posted. Facebook valued the money his page brought in more than their own policies. This revelation probably explains the many other enforcement inconsistencies, and why you can be inundated with gambling ads despite there supposedly a policy against promoting any kind of gambling, even skill games are prohibited!

If Facebook "make it even more difficult to advertise with them", they WILL go the way of MySpace as soon as an alternative platform gets big enough for advertisers to consider the switch the lesser evil to jumping through all the hoops.

Did you post some direct content like "Create account to XXXX and get 50 FS and 200% for your first deposit" or only provided link to your own website? It used to at least to work that if you don't mention anything about direct gambling but just write some content where people can click them to landing page where then can be these kind of offers, but direct gambling marketing is quite big no no there.

Can't really know what you posted there, you might have done what was ok some time ago but have changed (haven't made these FB and landing pages for people for while, so not so sure for current rules and policies they have).

I'm sure that wasn't the only reason... rumour has it that Robinson (which isn't his real name BTW) is an asset to the corporate borg; an agitator and funded troublemaker.

There are websites where you can check for good keywords. They give full stats which are getting the most hits in searches, etc. I use one but can't remember as i haven't done any research for quite some time. Got it saved somewhere.
