Hi Everyone,

So last week i was spinning away on the slots and all of a sudden on the site that i was playing on i was not only logged out but a message appeared stating "Your account is closed".
Thinking whats going on i contacted live support who informed me i had been randomly selected for Extended KYC.
After being asked to send a selfie of me holding my passport, bank statements, an A4 piece of paper with the casinos name written on it and with me holding it in my left hand nd god knows what else, i amk still locked unable to log in 4 days later.

Just wondered if this is nornal?

It might be worth nothing that at this casino you have to verify by uploading your docs before you can even make a first deposit.

Im not a high roller, im the type of guy who deposites £20-£50 at a time and cashed out if i hit 3x the amount.

Anyone else had to go throught this?

Cheers

Nick

Might be. Are you in the UK? We are 6 days away from full verification prior to being able to deposit which should be interesting. Can't wait to see how the likes of LV, Betway and WH cope with that.

Yeah i am in the UK, i just don't understand it when for example on Virgin Games and Sky Vegas who I have held accounts with for probably around 10 Years I have never been asked for even 1 document!

Yeah same that's because they use automatic verification digital credit score etc which is much better I've never sent any docs with virgin games starspins and sky Vegas been with them over 12 years

Its now been 8 days. The site is Stakers.com, who up until now i must admit i was really impressed with the site design, bonuses, and withdrawal times etc.
So basically i made a deposit, cashed out a small profit and proceeded to spin away with the remaining balance when all of a sudden i was logged out and a message said "Your Account is Closed".
After speaking to chat i was told my account was randomly selected for Extended KYC and i had to provide a passport, me holding an A4 piece of paper with "STAKERS" written on it, me holding my passport in my left hand and my last 3 months worth of bank statements on both registered cards.
I took pics and sent them straight away.
I have since emailed them twice and had no response, and everytime i use the live chat they simply tell me to email the as they are not equipped to deal with my problem.
The site required verification when you sign up which was done and i was sucessfully verified, so im confused as to why i need to to extended kyc, im not even a big depositer just the odd £50 in a couple times a week.
Does anyone here have any thoughts on what to do now as i've lost all patience with them and just want my money and my account closed.

Looking over on trustpilot, it appears a few other people are having the same issue as me with this bookmaker/casino.

Cheers guys

Nick

These are an appalling site and shouldn't be in business as there are numerous reports of problems with them.

I find it a bit odd because to be fair I have held an account with them for about 7/8 months and made quite a few withdrawals of larger amounts without any issues. Perhaps they are going bust?

Where did you see this numerous reports of problems with them ?

Just asking as my experience there is quite the opposite . I was verified in about 24 min and had my nearly 5k withdrawal in my bank account via trusty shortly after the verification ....

Jusr be careful NIK, like i said i also had nothing but positive experiences at the site, but somethings going on, too many people seem to be having issues the last few weeks.

I appreciate your warning but could you point us to the numerous reports that indicate there is something wrong recently ?

Bear in mind KYC regulations have changed and all casinos are taking the necessary steps to implement them by the next couple of weeks . This might well be the reason behind all the hassle you experienced .

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Plenty there, i myself have had the same issues. When a casino chooses to lock/close your account and not respond to emails or anwser their phone over a long period it raises concerns. I also contacted the gambling commission over the phone and the lady told me that they have had numerous complaints about Stakers over the last 5/6 weeks.

Here's the "problem"all we have to go on is what your telling us which in all fairness could be a load of cod wallop or maybe not who knows?
If you have done no wrong then you have dam all to worry about just carry thru the requested procedure and stop scare mongering.
I'm getting messages from beyond the grave saying there's more to this.

OK thats your opinion, if you are happy to play at a casino who do not bother to reply to emails, whos live chat cannot even look into your problem and often copy & paste the same sentences to you in chat and who leave you for now 9 days without any updates regarding the situation then thats your choice.
Im sure other will appreciate the warning.

What does this mean for us exactly (in a nutshell)? I too have a number of accounts, some where I've never been asked for docs; WH, Sky V, etc.

As one of many who don't hold a passport/driving licence (they're not essential to my existence lol), I've generally found that most - not all casinos' where I've been asked for docs have shown an element of common sense, understanding and discretion in accepting my Birth Certificate, along with say Government Letter and Bank Statement/Utility Bill.

I'm currently waiting on verification of said docs at one Nektan site (I have numerous accounts with their brand; sometimes they ask, mostly they don't). Anytime in the past they've shown that common sense discretion.

It's my understanding that the UKGC requires that the casino takes the relevant steps to satisfy themselves beyond doubt of the identity of the player, and that they are of legal age to gamble, but does not insist on which documents should be accepted.

Sorry for rambling, I'll belt up ahah

They must, as a minimum verify the address and date of birth of each player. This includes a check against Gamstop/SE registers. It should work fairly easily.
