I have two withdrawals from my checking account made yesterday. The withdrawal reads PACIFICA 8662760800 01.

I called the phone number and it just rings. My bank is doing a check on these debit card charges which were made yesterday and I haven't played at any casinos or made any purchases since around the 22nd of this month.

I have blocked all gaming sites and my daughter has the password. It is working for me. If anyone is interested it is a free program called Old / Expired Link.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Tell me about it. I asked the bank if I should close this account which I really don't wish to do since I have over 1k coming from Neteller which will take at least two months.

Jeez what a freaking mess!

Addisyn, have you looked back at older bank statements just to double check and make sure this has never showed up as PACIFICA before from a casino that you may have used your debit or credit card at. Have you googled this to see if anything popped up that might remind you ?

RobWin I really appreciate your looking. I haven't used my debit card in at least 3 or 4 days. I cut it up a while back and only used it online to fund gaming.

I called the bank back and cancelled the card and requested a new one. The bank will investigate and call me back in approximately 5 days to let me know what they found. My checking account isn't very old as I had changed it from a savings to checking in October so it was easy to search for this vendor. Found nothing.

We shall see what is going on. With all this upheaval I won't doubt our info is just out there. Who knows what can be happening with it. I am sure a lot of casinos and money changers are none too happy with the US right now.

Hope that everything works out OK...

My daughter has the password to the N9 software. If I wish to access a site that is blocked I have to get her to do it. LOL...

I had to wait all day yesterday since she wasn't available to unblock CM.

It is working for me. She has the uncanny ability to say no to me. I have taught her well.

I couldn't play if I wanted to anyway. I cancelled my debit card so no unknown charges could show up. That was my last way to deposit.

Why not stick to the netspend prepaid debit cards?? Or even better yet, the gift cards that can't be reloaded

Can't find anything that's sold around here that works. ( "You want whuuut??" ) It's hardly worth the hassle. I am now on involuntary gambling hiatus.

Good luck Addisyn, let us know if you get that weird charge figured out.

Hi Addisyn,
why are you blocking all sites and giving your daughter the password? I thought you liked playing online? You are doing really well at Hype too!

My luck at Hype ran out around the time Neteller turned away US players. I played about $500 and never once hit a feature. At that point I figured they were none too happy with US players and had turned off the spigot for us.

I played at a few RTGs and just kept losing. Tried a couple of MGs. Lost some more. At that point I decided why throw away anymore money. Even if I did win it is weeks before I could get a withdrawal and then possibly not at all. As things are going I am very afraid any winnings may simply be locked up never to be seen again.

I had one last day of playing about a week ago. During that one day I lost over $900. Maybe it is just paranoia but I was beginning to believe any US players would be making up for the loss of the market. Just seemed wise to stop until things turn around.

Last time I stopped playing online I was on a 5 year hiatus. If I never play again that is fine. Just going through withdrawals at the moment. It is amazing when you find you can't remember what you were doing before you started playing online. I only started again this last September and haven't a clue what filled my time.

Be strong Addisyn, it will take a few weeks, I too am going thru online gambling withdrawals. Had to actually go outside the other day and wash and wax my truck, I had almost forgot how.

ahhhhh Addisyn I wondered why I wasn't seein ya anymore. Stay tough girl! If ya ever need an ear, you know where to find me - I don't sign into msn much (as I am sure you've noticed) but if you see that I'm not signed in and wanna talk just throw me an email to the same address... I check a couple of times a day when I'm not working. Hope you get to the bottom of the odd charges too! It's so scary to see all that crap happening now.. I check my Neteller account at least daily to make sure everything is still as I left it.

Hi everyone.

I'm in Canada so can still play but after winning $900 on one spin, cashing out, then reversing it (could kick myself) I lost it all. Didn't learn either because did the same thing a few days later and lost that too.

The worse thing was that I upped the bets on slots to $3.60 or $4.50 a spin hoping to get the bonus spins. Well, they came along and I got a measly $40. Happened at several casinos on all the bonus spin slots so needless to day, I'm done with gambling for a while.

I don't really want to think about it but I figure I have lost $3000 in January. Seems my bigger wins came on regular spins, not on the bonus rounds, and the big spins were big ($900 for a $1.80 wager) but there was nothing more to keep the bankroll up.

When I finally got the funds into Firepay, I had to wait for other deposits to clear by bank and that was the biggest killer for me - couldn't leave it alone and ended up re-depositing it back.

Think I'm having to force myself to do other things for a few months. As that old songs goes "got along without you before I met you, gonna get along without you now"

An update on those two charges I didn't recognize. They are definitely fraud. The bank has referred it to their fraud department and are currently investigating. Someone either used a physical card with my pin number or used it online with my pin number.

What makes this so obviously fraud to me is I don't even know my pin number since I have never used this card at an actual ATM machine. It was used only for online transactions and never required the use of the pin number.

Once I had scanned the card to send when documents were requested I shredded the card. This was so I didn't get it mixed up with the one I use to make purchases at stores and use at ATMs. That one is connected to my joint checking with my husband.

When the person I called just now told me it was fraud it shook me to the core. Damn that is so scarey! I should be hearing from the bank in a few days so should have the final story soon.

Yikes!

I don't want to scare you further, but just to be safe, you may want to get a credit report just to be sure someone hasn't opened new charge accounts in your name.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the official site to help consumers to obtain their free credit report. There is no charge to receive 1 credit report from the 3 major reporting agencies once per year. Please be sure you use the annual credit report site, and not one of the rip off websites that are out there.

Good luck! Let us know how things go.

Very good advice.

Also, I seem to remember there was a scam running about 6 months ago from a company doing something like this. If I remember the MO correctly, they would do realtively small debits to people's accounts to try and keep under the radar (probably figuring people wouldn't worry or care to much to try and track down the items since the dollar value was small). They way they made it worth their while was to ding LOTS of people for small amounts.

Addisyn - were these debits what you would consider small amounts of money?

Best,

-Riff

They were along the same line as I would normally do. One was for $150.00 and the other for $200.00. I will pull those credit reports for sure thanks for the tip Mousey!

You can get a free credit report once a year, if you live in the USA. You can get a report from all 3 agencies.

I would suggest everyone that has had a Neteller problem get one ASAP, just to make sure you're not a victim of identity theft.
