Tain is a Swedish company that did a Bodog-style deal with poker software developer MicroPower before it was acquired by Chartwell Technology, and has used this source code to introduce its own unique modifications and improvements.

There are 6 gamestyles and the company has attracted big international companies like Parbet, Expekt, IndoBet, CBN and InniGame to its network, building up a creditable critical mass in only six months of operations.

Staffers at the ICE show in January told me that the global player roster at that point included over 300 000 individuals, and numbers simultaneously on-network swing between 3 900 and 9 000. Tain has a Malta based Support which it is growing, and 12 major licensees.

It's most recent addition to the network is Pokershare.com which you will recall was booted off the Excapsa network last year and then went offline to regroup and litigate (the issue was sorted out amicably in the end) Pokershare is a poker site that promises players a share of the profits, and it is currently considering a similarly structured online casino operation with an as yet unknown software supplier.

Tain subsequently ended up in the Playtech stable (around March 2007 - you'll find the detail in the Casinomeister news archives).

Expekt was still using Playtech for its poker last I heard, although they're using a mix of platforms from GTS and Parlay for their casino and bingo offering, and the sportsbook uses CTXM, with which I am not familiar at all.
