Thanks, guys :) Got it. Could you please share your strategies for gambling? Do you have some tips to keep in mind?

Cheers,
Karl

Not really what you ask for here, but you are not posting a guide to "world class gambling", but misleading information to players that do not know better, so here goes.

* World Class Gamblers are Numbers Orientated

These guys know and understand numbers on a deep level. Through rigorous practice and improvement, the world’s top gamblers are able to use their calculations as a formidable weapon, and when it comes to analyzing patterns and trends, they always stay one step of the game. At the end of the day, a gambler's skills are honed and perfected through tireless practice and repetition. Through practice which comes over a number of years in the industry, they are able to instantly define and comprehend complicated numbers and systems when they sit down at the table.

1. Choose and stick to your favorite game

There are literally hundreds of different games on the market today, so choose your favorite game and devote your time to perfecting your strategy. From poker to blackjack or roulette to craps. Don’t ever stretch yourself too thin and devote the time you need to make a game work for you.

So "world class gamblers" analyse patterns and practice their skills to play, with the exception of poker, games where the outcome is generally something they can't impact? Sure there are strategies in the other games that gives a higher win chance than less optimal strategies... But the edge will remain with the house not the player, and you know as well as I do that there's no system in Roulette for example that will lead to long term profitability for the player.

* World Class Gamblers are Risk Takers

Highly successful gamblers are known to bet massive sums of money and to the novice, this can get construed as reckless behavior. However, world-class gamblers live for this level of make or break adrenalin. By betting large amounts, they are forced to deploy their all-time best strategies under pressure whilst doing everything they can to minimize their chances of losing. They see the game as a strategic investment and treat it as such. To establish and automate the ultimate gambling model, the world’s top gamblers work tirelessly to compete with the best possible output in relation to their stake.

That sounds more like a gambling addict to me.

4. Start with a sizable bankroll and set a loss limit

When it comes time to wager with real money, you should come in with enough money set aside to stay at the table for the duration of the game. Having this spare cash float will allow you to keep your mind on the game. For beginner gamblers, try keeping your bankroll relatively small until you’ve built up enough experience to take on higher stakes games and tournaments.

The second and probably most important point here is to set a loss limit. This will prevent you from wagering more than you can afford to lose and is the set amount of money you can safely walk away from in a given hand. It’s usually best practice to set a loss limit in the region of 1-5% of your total spending bankroll. This will give you plenty of opportunities to win in small increments staking too much in one sitting.

Setting a loss limit is definitely a smart choice, but why should the money they bring to the table have anything to do with the length of the game or why would they ever need to stay till the end? Simply walk away when you've lost what you intended or walk away whenever you are happy with the amount your up. With table games with significant house edges the player is definitely better off doing a hit and run than staying to see how probability eventually bite their arse.

As for starting with a sizeable bankroll, the average player will be far better of by not chasing losses than having some massive budget to "rebuild" a bankroll from after the eventual loss.

5. Stay focused

This point is so important. If you want to become a world-class gambler, you will need to always be aware of your surroundings. Remember that, the moment you stake a wager, nothing else matters. So, do everything you can to eliminate external distractions, keep your phone on silent, and don’t buy into any form of commotion that may or may not be going on around you. It also helps to take short frequent breaks (unless you’re competing in a tournament). This gives you the chance to clear your head and come back to the table with renewed energy.

Or you know, just enjoy gambling for what it is and do whatever you find relaxing and enjoyable at the same time. its meant for entertainment not income. Personally I enjoy my low roll punts combined with a bad TV series :) My lack of concentration will never affect the RNG.

6. Be willing to take risks

Sometimes you have to take a big leap of faith to make your mark on the table and get into the realm of world-class gamblers. This could mean anything from wagering your entire loss limit on heavy odds right through to refusing to fold on a mediocre hand when the pot is at an all-time high. The best time to take risks is when you’re down by a little but stand to win a lot. Lastly, your decisions should always be calculated and conducted with a cool and level headed strategy.

The best way to gamble is definitely NOT to take stupid bets or play weak hands in poker just because the pot is big, I've seen better gambling advice than this from Bloatgoat.

Also there's absolutely no scientific base for it being better taking risks when your down by a little. If anything it makes more sense to do so when your up, at least you can still walk away with the initial balance that way.

Thanks, guys :) Got it. Could you please share your strategies for gambling? Do you have some tips to keep in mind?

I tend to deploy all of the assets you have described as being desirable then I get pissed, throw it all out of the window then wake up surrounded by cash

I havent even the brain juice and barely know where to start here.

It comes down to a very few caveats

1 - walk in expecting to lose
2 - play within your budget (entertainment expenses youre willing to lose)
3 - know, casinos WILL always have the edge
4- there are 0 systems and you can't predict randomness
5 - do your due diligence - read Ts and Cs, find a reputable casino, learn the basics of slot mechanics

Tag knowledgeable people in the forum for Qs, admin, or simply, read the boards

I'd invite @Casinomeister to please read the OP

That "article" is true for gambling activities with a positive expectation if played skillfully, ie poker, blackjack, professional sports betting or arbitrage.

The only time it would apply to slots or other casino games, is when playing with a bonus that is generous enough to tip the RTP over100%.
This.

I can't say anything else without swearing or calling the OP things I shouldn't say. If they have a licence at any reputable jurisdiction, this should be sent to the gaming board so they aware of the actions of this casino and/or its representatives.

Greetings gamblers ;)

Do you know what does it take to become a world-class gambler?
Take a look at the high rollers. What do they all have in common? What is that one golden attribute that all of the players share?

In this guide, we’ll take you through what it takes to be a successful gambler and the tips that come with having the upper hand.
So, with that being said, let’s dive into our guide to become a world-class gambler.

The Characteristics of World Class Gamblers

* World Class Gamblers are Numbers Orientated

These guys know and understand numbers on a deep level. Through rigorous practice and improvement, the world’s top gamblers are able to use their calculations as a formidable weapon, and when it comes to analyzing patterns and trends, they always stay one step of the game. At the end of the day, a gambler's skills are honed and perfected through tireless practice and repetition. Through practice which comes over a number of years in the industry, they are able to instantly define and comprehend complicated numbers and systems when they sit down at the table.

* World Class Gamblers Study Their Game

Keeping clear records of wins, losses and overall gaming performances is a must for the world's top gamblers. Their well-defined research allows them to track their progress from year to year. And it’s from these self-same records that a winning gambler is able to notice mistakes and make the necessary adjustments to expand on their winning model from year to year.

* World Class Gamblers are incredibly Street Smart

A lot of world-class gamblers are average people and don’t hold any excessive degrees of intelligence, but you don’t need an Einstein IQ to get really good at the table. What you need is a well-honed set of skills that come with A LOT of practice. Gamblers without naturally endowed betting intelligence can improve their odds through practice, but some people just seem to be born with a keep gambling aptitude that sets them apart from the rest. They are always learning and growing from their mistakes and keenly observing the table and their competition in everything they do.

* World Class Gamblers Keep Their Emotions in Check

Gamblers don’t allow emotions to affect their betting decisions. They carefully analyze the situation before wagering any money. This keen awareness of their surroundings and the game at large allows them to stay calm under pressure and work towards the best possible outcome. They only look to the facts, and they ignore all the noise that comes with a high stakes event.

* World Class Gamblers are Disciplined

Intense discipline and hard work go hand in hand with a successful gambler. Most have spent decades studying their craft and honing their skills and they use this to full effect at the table. Like anything in life, hard work and discipline pay off, especially when you are wagering such massive amounts in a single hand. These outcomes can only be developed through careful research and game development.

Right, the above are a few of the intrinsic characteristics that each player has to become best at their game, but what if you are just starting out?
Below we’ll cover a few of the points to take note of as a novice gambler. Try them yourselves and see your game start to refine and progress.

How to become a successful gambler

1. Choose and stick to your favorite game

There are literally hundreds of different games on the market today, so choose your favorite game and devote your time to perfecting your strategy. From poker to blackjack or roulette to craps. Don’t ever stretch yourself too thin and devote the time you need to make a game work for you.

2. Devise a logical gambling system

Start putting in the steps and various strategies you need in order to win effectively and consistently. This could entail elements of betting low, opting for or leaving out different types of odds and wager, etc. Certain table games like blackjack and roulette, are based on different forms of probability predictions whereas a game like poker is more of a strategy game based on your own unique playing style.

3. Constantly improve on your skill sets

Start learning all you can about a given table game by playing the free online versions of each. By staging these demo runs in a risk-free playing environment, you’ll be constantly improving your game, and when it comes time to wager real money, you’ll have a solid grasp of what you are doing and how best to capitalize on your ongoing strategy. Wagering with hypothetical money let’s keep a running score of your win to loss ratio.

4. Start with a sizable bankroll and set a loss limit

When it comes time to wager with real money, you should come in with enough money set aside to stay at the table for the duration of the game. There are no strategies to any casino game with the exception of poker, and even that is part luck part skill.

EDiT: thanks to @maxd for removing the original post... stuff like that makes me so angry and damages responsible casinos and the industry so much.

You sure blackjack can't be beaten by counting cards and adjusting your bet sizes based on your counting? Evolution keep banning you quite fast from that but some could say that it's not impossible to way winning BJ if you are good enough and you're allowed to play long enough and not get banned once your betting patterns is recognized (which is quite fast these days).

The house do have a mathematically edge, counting cards do not alter the probability of the game itself.

What impact it will have I'm sure @ThePOGG or wizard of odds can answer better than me.

Counting cards is an illegal strategy that only can work, but it's hardly something that should be encouraged on this board. And doubling your bets each time works a) with an unlimited bank roll and b) if there are no max bets

Didn't encourage anyone to do that, just challenged opinion that there are no other casino games than poker where you could get an advantage with skills and tight strategy, also you get banned very fast if doing that. There's no need to use martingale to double your bet size but adjust it based on more complicated formula. I'm not sure if it's illegal anywhere, you just get banned but you are not breaking the rules of the game, just casinos T&C:s and live game providers are extremely fast to recognize it these days so making money with it is impossible practically everywhere.

Counting cards illegal?
Unless you ask others to do it with you, I hardly think it's illegal or easy to catch.

Live casinos counter that by either shuffling each deck everytime or having like 4-5 decks in each shoe which they then reshuffle less than halfway in, so there would be no point in doing it anyway.

I am pretty sure it is illegal in some countries... if not illegal, it is certainly not allowed in any casino. Online casinos (not live ones) shuffle the deck after every hand unless stated otherwise

I've googled a bit and under UK law and US law it's not illegal if my findings are correct, in fact it can be considered as a skill and this wiki mentions an interesting case were Atlantic City could not ban players, even if they were counting.

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Max beat me to it. The OP in question has much content that for at least us affiliates in the UK, would be forbidden under LCCP and ASA regs. You cannot suggest people can be successful via gambling, as this diverts from the reality in that mostly it's a matter of chance. Glad it's removed.

At the risk of a tongue lashing i did not see much wrong with the original post.

To me it was clear it was not about slots and more about Poker or games that afford a bit of skill within the chance.

I guess for somebody not in the know it could be dangerous and Dunover seemed to put it into context for me with the last post saying 'You cannot suggest people can be successful at gambling, as this diverts from the reality in that mostly its a matter of chance.' - Therein lies the responsibility for the industry.

Its an interesting thought though, because the reality is that there are some very successful gamblers. Some class it as their profession and its listed as a profession on many a blue chips database, for the UK anyway. Interesting stuff. (I need an interesting stuff or hmmmm, pondering emoji).

So it can be recognised as a profession, therefore there must be good reasons for it and there are professional gamblers with similar traits and even strategies, but i understand the sensitivity.

There are many aspects of bitcoin and crypto in general where people do not really use their brains lmao. There are a lot of investing and mining that goes on and saying that betting is the most productive way of getting crypto is just plain wrong lmao.
