THE SNORING PROBLEM

Some retired deputy sheriffs went to a retreat in the mountains. To save money, they decided to sleep two to a room. No one wanted to room with Daryl, because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn't fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns.
The first deputy slept with Daryl and comes to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. They said, "Man, what happened to you?" He said, "Daryl snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night."

The next night, it was a different deputy's turn. In the morning, the same thing happened. His hair was all standing up and his eyes were all bloodshot. They said, "Man, what happened to you? You look awful!"
He said, "Man, that Daryl shakes the roof. I watched him all night." The third night was Frank's turn. Frank was a big burly ex-football player. A man's man. The next morning, he came to breakfast bright eyed and bushy tailed.
"Good morning!" he said. They couldn't believe it! They said, "Man, what happened"?
He said, "Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Daryl into bed and kissed him goodnight. He sat up and watched me all night long."

The wife says I do but I can't tell i'm sleeping

I snore! So does my sister, we were both blessed with our fathers extraordinarily load snoring! My bother escaped that trait - very unfair! He sleeps with his eyes open though - very freaky. :eek2:

My partner and I both sleep with ear plugs - he wears his to block out my snoring and I wear mine to to block out his mumblings and teeth grinding.

I used to teeth grind - apparently its a sign of anxiety.

I am not too sure - its called Bruxism or something.

Anyone know what's it all about?!
Some drugs are known to cause bruxism as a side effect
Bruxism is the right word.
It is not exactly known what causes teeth grinding, but there are several factors and they are personality, anxiety, frustration, stress, suppressed anger & they say alcohol can do it too this is still in study.
The main thing I say is stress.

The problem is that I don't do drugs and drink very occasionally. I have beers in my fridge that have been there since my last BBQ a month ago.

I am not really stressed and am a very happy person (honestly!). I just can't work it out. I haven't done it in a few months according to my girlfriend but would love to know if anyone else has dealt with it?

Would I have to wear a mouth guard to bed?!

If you do it everynight Yes
A specially fitted plastic mouth gaurd may be worn at night to absorb the force of biting.it will help to prevent future damage to the teeth
If you do this why hurt yourself It can be painful later for ya.

I snore, but not as much as my sister. She would tell me stories of how she would snore so loud that she'd wake herself up. Then one night it happened to me. Like someone else said, I think I snore a lot when I'm drunk (I was drunk the time my snoring woke me up).

I am also a teeth-grinder, ever since I can remember, even to this day.

I also talk in my sleep sometimes. Probably muttering about blackjack or roulette or something.

my mom had one made for her, and it only covered her front two teeth. it was just the size of a lego block and fit into the front teeth, and provides the necessary spacing to prevent any grindage while sleeping. many people shy away from getting a mouthpiece because they think they will have to wear a bulky one like a boxer's to bed and will be uncomfortable. not the case.
