Dead or Alive HTML 5

DOA has been great to me this month. £400+ gone (inc bonuses to make that value up) on 9p bets without seeing even 5 extra spins..

as for the html version which i only had the misfortune of trying to endure a session on yesturday, for the first time, well..
what an absolute pile of dung. That is all.

Netent is really forcing us to FULL LINES on all slots now! ...guess we players are too stupid in their view to use either all or just a few paylines.

Has the same "stakkado"-like stop on each spin like Twin Spin and lag to start the next spin after a win.  Geez, what kind of IDIOTS at Netent think this is progress/upgrade/improved experience???? :what:

This!

Why can't they let us choose the lines it makes playing the last of your money so frustrating with 9 lines fixed. Would really prefer the old game style back please

I had my first feature the other day on this new version of dead or alive. I was betting 36p and won over £235. Must of been at least 12 wilds on the screen. So maybe i might have to change my mind about this slot being worse then the older version.....:)

Had the 15 Trada spins on it the other day, managed to wrangle two bonus rounds out of them. After much trolling and near-misses, my spins were up and I had a £6 playable balance.

Of course that is where it died. So that's two bonus rounds within 15 spins and then zippo for the remaining, what, 300+ spins?

It's Dead or Alive or alright. Just tighter and better-looking.

Just writing to Netent to see if they can give my partner a HTML5 upgrade too :eek::eek:

Well it is playing awful for me. Something has changed in my opinion. The number of dead spins are higher than normal and features don't trigger as often as they used to. Perhaps I am just catching it at the wrong times or alternatively they have pissed about with the variance.

My tin hat story off the day

I had my first feature on the new DOA today and I got about 700 X at Video Slots Casino.

I got the five extra spins with two possible wild lines which didn't come off but those missing spots did throw down Colts twice and stetsons and boots.

I hit this feature on my 155th spin into the session.

Now way before I got to the sweet spot this feature had me saying out loud "this different never seen this before" as I kept on getting double 5 oaks on a single spin off poker hands on the same spin on line 1 and line 3 it was just so strange and I went something might happen as this is not the norm.

Seen so many FS rounds from my own play and others from videos or on twitch and never have I seen one go down like this.

You lot might have as you may have played way more than me and are going to slap me down quickly or pull up a chair and praise me on my choice off shiny hat.

I hate this new version I don't need a pop up every time I win, it slows game play down, whats next? No mute button perhaps...

Take a perfectly fine (and as much as its robbed me over the years) fair, enjoyable slot.

Add a 'nice' jerkiness to the spins.

Stop the ability to click the next spin quickly as the previous spins completes.

Add a pathetic and totally pointless win count up in the bottom centre of the screen.

Make it look even more like the wilds are actually going to land and stay put in the bonus than ever before.

Add the ultimate piss take sound effect which used to play when the extra 5 spins were awarded for every wild which lands.

Remember those lovely 5 scatter screenshots galore, now a distant memory.

Mix in a bit of lag here and there

Hey Presto!

Maybe I should complain more often. Put another £25 in on £0.18 and it gave me a win of £100+. Never seen so many wilds in the free spins but not enough for a wild line.

I was playing it at Video Slots last week and got the free spins a lot every 20-50 spins with four wilds no big wins.

The four wilds came in regular too so I think it should be ok this new version. Never fear the Wlid line will come so will the five scatters in time lol

So if I complain, will I get some nice win too? Playing new version, it gave me less bonus rounds plus every bonus round I hardly see "wild", before I used get a 2-3 wilds in wild line in every few bonus rounds, but not with a new version.

Hope this complaint will give me some nice win. :D

Its certainly playing differently to what it used to, I just had a session where I got

5OAK Boots x 4
5OAK Hats x1
4OAK Stars x1
at least 6 5OAK K

out of around the first 100 spins

1 x 3 scatters, where weirdly I got 3 wilds on reel 1, 2 on reel 5, and none on the others.

Edit, just got this free spins where all the wilds on the screen dropped in on the last spin

I did close to 20,000 spins on the HTML version and wrote a nice report about it. Hit "submit" and the screen goes blank, clicked back and is see an empty post box....where's my text that i just wrote in the past 1.5 hours?

Well, too lazy to write it again but my final verdict was: pure horror show

Here's a summary:

1. Forget about reel strips or random symbols on the screen
--> This is pure graphic display to create as much anxiety, adrenaline as possible and ultimately addiction. I venture to say that this has been done by Netent on purpose to increase revenue + profits.... more addicts, more money, simple. F*ck you Netent!

--> The missing scatter or symbols are shown just outside the window on every spin. The missing symbol for a 5OAK is displayed never more than 2 positions away from where it should be.

--> This is clearly directed at new and unwary players who then bite their finger nails at the constant near misses.

2. From Hero to Zero
--> Had a few times extra spins, 300+ x bet pays without extra spins and 1 late WL. After each of those the slot took a never ending nose dive until the balance zeroed out. Even reducing bets from 0.90/1.80 --> 0.27/0.36 would not help to get enough spins for another good bonus round.

--> The only times i did not lose a cent of my balance was when i did on 2 occasions 500 Autospins @ 0.09. Constant 4OAK's, pretty frequent mid 5OAK. So pretty much 100% RTP. However, the moment i raised my bets back to 0.45-1.80 the RTP dropped well below 50%. Worst was 17.63% @ 1.80 bets for 150 spins after the set of 500 spins @ 0.09. RANDOM MY ASS NETENT!

--> The slot would come magically alive again exactly after zeroing out and making a fresh deposit. Coincidence if it happens once or twice. Certainly not if it is 11x in a row within 4 days. RANDOM MY ASS NETENT!

3. Bonus round frequency
--> The slot has changed in some strange way. In all sessions I had the same pattern. 2-3, sometimes 4 bonus rounds in rather quick succession and then dead for one hour. 1 bonus round would pay maybe OK, the others the usual "next to nothing". Never had 2 well paying rounds in succession.

--> The amount of spins to the next 'set' of bonus rounds has risen dramatically. Countless times 500+ spins with the highest being 786, 923, 978 spins....and that in just 4 days

Again, my verdict: F*ck you Netent, you created a horror show for both gaming experience and wallet.

I've only had one session on this html edition so far, being that a few places still have the old version. But have almost played literally nothing else except this game for the past year when playing online if that counts for anything lol. While the one session does not give me the right to mention what came to mind, i couldn't help but be left with thinking 2 things, which you have now described word for word.

Would have loved to have read the more detailed report as well :icon_evil

I've actually had a scatter on the top line, 3rd reel, and it's shown another scatter above it. There is no way there are two scatters next to each other on any reel.

The thing that's pissing me off the most, is the spin count during the bonus. It used to decrease each time the reels started spinning. Now it doesn't decrease until it's finished the spin and counted up any win.

So when you get to the last spin. it shows 1 spin remaining, the reels stop, the win counts up. During this time, I'm thinking 'one more spin to go'. But rather than spinning, the 1 remaining changes to 0, and the bonus is over.

Which is even more annoying if you've got 4 wilds on a line.

Yes I've seen this too as well as 2 wilds next to each other on the same reel (outside of the feature)

To me it is nothing more than sloppy, lazy programming!

the only thing i really hate are these win count animations. what is the point really ?
gonzo i could not play more then 15 min yesterday because of this.
everything takes longer -> player plays less rounds -> less profit ?

Played the 'old' version at Bingo Stars today. It was like greeting an old friend :(

So much better in every way, and especially noticeable having had extensive play on the HTML5 abomination earlier in the day.

My session lasted longer, the base game was tried & trusted unlike the HTML's aversion to throwing out weird 5 OAKs and strange bobbing gameplay.

The sounds were all present and correct, and the bonus countdown timer did things properly.

Never had so much fun busting out horribly. Netent are gimps and should be made to reprogramme the games back to their original style!
