Not long ago many said that have ID in order to travel was just another conspiracy theory worthy of ridicule.
Of course having a travel ID in itself will not bother those who have already had the vaccine. Many of them who have are the elderly,infirm and those who may not plan on travelling much anyhow.
But what will follow on from needing a travel ID for travel? What about those younger adults and their children because I will put my neck on the block in saying that the government has done the easy part in getting those over 55 to take it up. I suspect that there will be a huge backlash from those 40 and below to having the vaccine and especially in having their children jabbed.
As a side note. Does anyone not find it interesting that over the past year governments around the world have been in unison with the timing of their messages?

Travel where? To different countries? As thats the only thing I've seen mentioned in regards to vaccine passports possibly being required?
Must admit I haven't followed the news much recently so it may have changed, but if thats the case, then I still don't see what any government is getting from introducing them?
I mean you're talking about needing ID to travel, don't we have that already in passports?

Plenty of countries around the world already make people carry a vaccine passport to show they have been vaccinated before they enter their country, Yellow Fever is a common one, so I see no reason that they wouldnt ask for a vaccine passport for Covid.
What happens if we get it to a very low level here, do we want all visitors to the UK to show they have been vaccinated and are therefore going to be at a lesser risk of bringing an outbreak of Covid in? I would have thought that would be a sensible thing to do.

I do not see him as such at all. I can understand not wishing to spend half of your day finding and presenting info on line when most of it is not easily available to most searchers. Unless you buy in to dedicated conspiracy sites as you main source of reference and ending up spewing out duff crap.
Personally,I have views and concerns that would have conspiracy theorists spitting blood at me and having Bill Gates sending me a friend request even though I do not trust him
 
I'm not really worried about a vaccine passport unless there is some sort of smart chip in it for data collection.
My buddy was ranting a little a few days ago about the passport and I pointed out to him that 12-18 months from now when (assuming) the virus is gone he would not even need the vaccine passport, he replied good point and calmed down.

To think there are people out there actually using computers and phones instead.

I can't believe people are happy to buy into a 'green pass' type society, in England as well for ***** sake, where you have to use a mobile phone/tablet APP in order to prove you are safe to go about your daily life.

I hope the fact crony tony has appeared from under his rock and is all in favour and strongly pushing for it would give some pause for thought.

A covid passport to travel abroad would be obsessive, in a 'forget any other transmissible illnesses someone might have it's only covid that interests us' kind of way, but it is not a daily activity for most individuals therefore not a massive imposition and restriction, esp if a false test reading is also acceptable proof you are not bringing covid into another country. [test could be at both departure and arrival for absolute safety]

But once the hospitilisations and deaths are right down why would we need any restrictions within the country, other than it is a dream idea of big brother style govt ? [hence tony is all up for it]

This whole thing was created to exercise control over us, for the "Green agenda" and possible stealing of our assets.

Do you really think otherwise there would be a coordinated effort to destroy millions of jobs and business, and steal our basic freedoms, over something that dont even account for 20% of the total annual deaths.

In the UK there have been more deaths from cancer than covid, and most covid deaths were not as a direct result of covid, rather people on their last knockings contracting it in hospital and being added to the numbers.

I know you all think I am a nutter, but I fear for all our futures, this is going to get nasty this year, and truly evil next year!

And god help us if the vaccine trials reveal serious problems, as this is the 1st vaccine to trial humans before being cleared as safe for guinea pigs to take.

Or maybe morons should get on with their lives if they are fit and healthy while those who are fat,unwell or vulnerable should take precautions and be treat as such by those around them? One year already has passed out of our short lives for a thing that can hardly be called a pandemic.

I wonder how many of these are fat/unwell/vulnerable, and how long it will take them to get over a disease that we really dont know enough about to understand the long term affects.

The flu can also have long term effects,though I do understand that Covid long term symptoms can be worse in some people.

It is funny how when they try to push the idea of vaccine passports they say that those who have already had covid may be allowed the passport because they have immunity yet after having the vaccine you must still wear a mask.

Is the mask bit fact or just from Doctor Colin?
Masks cut down the amount of spray that comes from the mouth so it will have an effect, very little doubt about that. It’s not going to stop anyone from getting Covid but it was never stated that it would as far as I’m aware.
So you dont really care if anyone catches Covid and dies from it as long as you can get out and get on with your life ?
And it’s never just been about it killing people it’s been about making sure the NHS can cope and that it wouldn’t get overwhelmed, but sure that’s not all that important as the long as you can get on with everything you want to. And I’ve never ever heard of a million people suffering the effects of Flu 8 - 12 weeks after catching it, and I’ve never heard of anyone being in hospital 3 months after catching Flu, so it can’t be compared.

As you may well know after a year of this that many virologists and Doctors have stated that masks do not work. You choosing to believe the ones who say they do work is your choice but it is quite ungenuine of you to suggest that it is just my own opinion.
As for me not caring about others catching covid and dying is also quite an unreasonable assumption given that I have stated that those that are vulnerable need to be protected. I have worn a mask in every situation that it is required since they where mandated. I have also offered my services as a volunteer both in the caring professions as well as in the local food bank. Once restrictions are lifted and food banks are providing hot meals again I will be doing just that.
But you are welcome to conclude that I do not care and that I am selfish. I am selfish about the lives effected by the measures.

I think the Oxford vaccine scientists are looking at a pill form, won't change what it does but perhaps people will start to think of it more as a gene therapy then than a vaccine, which are more strongly associated with an injection.

Overpopulation and the pressure on resources/reduced quality of life is going to be a bigger threat than covid ever could be, the planet is adding the population of 1 germany every year, something will have to give at some point.

Perhaps in the end fertility will be controlled via some sort of enforced gene pill, sounds like science fiction but how else are the numbers going to be controlled, you just need to look at the maths.

Slightly interesting coincidence to me that bojo's dad Stanley wrote these two books, in 1982 and 1973 respectively:

They are shitting themselves that the proof is being shown that getting back to life without needing a vaccine is being proven and folk will turn their backs on taking vaccines endlessly in order to live a normal life.

The Nuremburg code wasnt written for fun, it was agreed on after horrendous human rights abuses.

No country should be even skirting around the edge of the rules, let alone willfully breaking them.

Wheres the proof in that? Which country has opened up fully without a vaccination program?
Did you post how a vaccination passport is capable of tracking you more than a normal passport, haven't been on the thread for a few days and might have missed it?

You just need to look at Texas. Over 3 weeks without masks or restrictions and yet their figures have gone down. There are other states that have similar numbers that have fared much the same as each other even though one had lock down while the other didn't and no masks.

I missed answering your last question because I was busy and needed to go check out the traveling to different Countries or states question. I simply forgot to find out and post back.
But although the issue I was posting about had nothing to do with travelling from state to state it would not be too much of a leap to suggest it would be implemented given how germs circulate on a plane.

My issue is the restriction on travel if you do not have the passport. We have the idea mooted of having a passport for to go to the pub or dine out. We already have it mooted that all healthcare workers will need the vaccine or possibly lose their jobs. Employers only taking on staff who have had the vaccine. We could be living in a new world where either you comply or you are castigated .
And now we have Canada sending folk off flights to holding facilities and charging them a fortune for the privilege even if they do not test positive.

Texas have a vaccination program, they have vaccinated over 10 million people?

I still don't get the point on the passports? They already exist for other diseases and no one wants to sit next to someone on a plane who has it surely? Considering it came to the UK from abroad, surely doing what they can to prevent it happening again is a good thing?
Regarding employers, I would be amazed if any could dismiss someone for not having the vaccine under current law, and if they did, then can see an employment tribunal finding against them. In regards to taking on new staff, then thats up to them, as it is for any business to decide if to allow entry, ie pubs for example.

Did you not listen to the ladies words in the interview? The likes of Texas has not seen figures sky rocket over the past 3 weeks since opening everything up and ditching masks so the argument that after two weeks everyone will be falling like flies is proving to not be the case.
Her concern is that other states will want to follow them and ditch the measures and avoid the vaccine.
My point is that those who do not want to get vaccinated will be unable to do anything but sit at home unless they have the vaccination which is Orwellian.
She is advocating Biden set the vaccine into law before states are allowed to open up

You've responded by saying texas, but 10 million people have been vaccinated (over a third of the population), so I don't understand how that proves life gets back to normal without one?
Also, 3 weeks isn't long enough to see any effect of restrictions or removal of restrictions. It always takes around 3 weeks before you see any change in cases, and another 3-4 weeks before you see changes in hospitalisations or deaths, but with a third of the population vaccinated personally I would be surprised if there was any major increase.

However, France has had a very low take up of the vaccine (due to misinformation being spread), and they have just gone back into lockdown. Surely if Texas is proof of your way of thinking, then France shows the complete opposite?

I misread news reports as being 10 million vaccinated when it was doses, but DSHS are still saying over 6.8 million people, which is 50% higher than that site, and they also state over 30% of over 16's :confused:
