Missed this, corn on the cob is a fav of mine and Isabelle’s. Done on a bbq in foil and then drizzled with some garlic butter and a sprinkle of salt, nothing better!

Isabelle isn’t aloud salt on anything, but when we have corn on the cob properly I make a exception.

In fairness most places here have been heaving, but it’s boro and we have lots of poor chavs.

great for the restaurant’s at the time, my friend owns one and was buzzing, the drinks alone made the place a mint.

sadly it’ll be the tax payer whom covers the bill now it’s over. Don’t see how else they could of dealt with it tbh.

But it helped out my mates business and he reckons they won’t go under, he’s independent and not a franchise as many are so it’s good to have a local place stay afloat and it’s near where I live, little road with a cocktail bar, decent restaurant and small family run business, so nice to see they also may survive.

just hope to god no more pointless restrictions happen as can’t see many places I know near me weathering then storm again, we won’t be getting a second furlough or bail outs that’s for sure...

it’s m and s already cooked roast chicken breasts, legs etc...

some roast potatoes and some salad with my own produce.
peppers, red cabbage, lettuce and carrot and some sweet corn.

garlic and cheese bread also.

hot sauce now added to the green stuff, seasoning to the rest.

and just the old black current to drink again, daughter tomoz, may sample a beer tomoz night.

Chop for a layman like me can you explain this passage, esp the bold part, I'm probably being super dumb:

Had to laugh 10 minutes ago she made her big announcement as cases are going up and about 70 in Glasgow yesterday.

She has already said she thinks it is mainly between younger people.

So big plan. No longer allowed to visit anyones house. That is it. From midnight it is not allowed to visit another house.

I dont agree with all this bashing the government for covid deaths, it would have been the same if Labour, LibDems were in power, exactly the same. The reason for the deaths is the covid virus itself.

Whether we locked down even more strictly, or not at all, deaths would have been roughly the same.

The only thing I will blame the government for is locking down at all, instead of just the deaths, we now also have millions facing unemployment and a massive drop in living standards coming to us very soon.

Come to the conclusion the gov doesnt know what the fuck its doing.u turns galore and conflicting and confusing advice, as someone said we might as well lift all restrictions and let things take their course, honestly dont think it would make much difference.

Not surprising; certainly in the U.K. a lot of the admins of the funds to be rolled out were basically told to get the cash out the door and to keep checks as ‘light’ as possible, as they didn’t want the whole thing becoming tangled in red tape.

Lord knows how many ex employees, or John Smiths, were included in companies’ furlough scheme claims. Least it’ll keep HMRC going for a while.

Something that has not been reported in the media,found in a google virus update search or snopes virus update search or other funded fact.checkers.
The American Center for Disease Control and Prevention have admitted that only 6% of those who had previously been claimed to of died of Covid had died of it. Most of the deaths where the very old or very ill with at least 2 co morbidities and where dying anyhoo.

Which means those figures could be even lower. 6% is 9,000 deaths over 6 months or so. Replicate that worldwide then ask if it was worth everything that they have put the world through and compare it to the death rates from other ailments.
How many suicides in that time in America? How much more mental illnesses? Depression. Domestic abuse due to lock down? Child abuses where they can not get away from the abuser due to lockdown? Most child abuse is detected at school!

It seems the dems made a point of going soft on the violent protesters so as to not to lose votes from the more radical wing attracted to voting for them. Obviously things can still change between here and NOV, but looks to me like Biden has now got to come out into the open, and do more speeches, which could then backfire?

People are getting fed up with governments' handling of the pandemic, as evidenced by the recent demonstrations we've seen. When compared to say recent BLM marches in London, that attracted around 400 people.

So again, the BLM movement is predominantly rooted in the U.S, it has no place in the U.K as Britain's been the most tolerant country I've ever known growing up, unless I read it completely wrong for 35+ years.

So it's frankly embarrassing to see it on these shores, not to mention in other European countries, carried out by bums & students who know nothing about systemic racism, but thought it cool to tear down some statues and shit.

But as regards the Corona reaction(s), it's fairly apparent that your everyday Joe has seen through the skewed death figures and all-round fear-mongering, and is not going to tolerate a 2nd Lockdown, or even the provably ineffective Mickey Mouse mask- wearing, 'Social- Distancing' that 30% of people abide by, or to be told they're going to lose their jobs they've just got after 6 months of hell

Morrisons is doing a deal buy 6 cans corona online and order pack of limes get the limes free.

Pal told him he saw an offer where you spend £25 on messages and you can get 10 packs of corona and limes free.

Was like Bullshit no way do you get £60 worth of beer free.

So i registered with morrisons. Added 10 cases of Corona basket said £60. Added 10 packs of limes and sure enough 20 items in basket and price now zero. Added another 1 of each and it added price for them. Took back down to 10 and price zero. Guessing instead of the system taking the price off for the limes it is mistakingly subtracting price of the beer as well.

Guessing there is an almighty fuck up in the system. Stupid boy placed the order with £25 of messages and says order accepted with all the Corona on receipt. Got a feeling he is going to be might upset when his delivery comes.

As i would imagine loads of people have done the same .

Yes, T has made up some ground.

Biden is on right now talking about schools. He will eventually have to take questions from the press, that's where he can get into trouble. Update: He's taking questions from the press.

I told a few people a few weeks ago that Biden would want a national lock down. How is that going to go?

Either way there is no silver lining in the election that I can find. If T wins its more of the same as the last 4 years along with riots, not just screaming at the moon, how long those riots will last is any ones guess. If Biden wins he'll be a puppet for the radical left.

There is a possibility that the world will not know who wins the election on election night because of all the mail-in voting. I still think T by a land slide.
