Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

I haven't implied he was left or right leaning, I just see quotes from him used by all sides of the political spectrum.
Granted and also wasn’t meant mate as a left or right debate, was just I believed relevant to what col posted.

Apologies

They're not perfect, they're human. some are assholes. Like other humans.
But I don't really get that 2nd paragraph.
Assuming you're referring to the recent guy who was paralysed when the cop shot him in the back..

If you watch the full video, rather than the cut down video which the (as usual, pretty much lime you said above) MSM loves to show, it can be seen clear as day that the (now paralysed) guy is resisting arrest, who possibly had a knife (unless the pic i saw was shopped) and when told, after resisting arrest, NOT to go into his car, being screamed at - to not do it, he ignores the multiple requests. knowing he has a gun pointed st him but still ignores the command andleans into his car (isnt getting in to drive, he leans in for something..) It's almost as if he wanted to die.

So, If he is reaching in for a gun (Its not going be a bunch of flowers to handto the cop, is it? considering the events leading upto that ) him leaning in for a weapon being highly probable, so, in your eyes -what is the cop supposed to do? wait for him to pick up a weapon which he can use without even having to turn around and fire it?

He obviously didn't go down from the first shot or 3, so those bullets hadn't removed the danger of the cop(s) getting killed in response. He made himself a threat. If the guy had simply done what was asked of him (over and over again) he would not have been shot.

I don't care if he is Black or White, though I'm sure we would have never even heard about it if he was White.

My point is that these laws are there for a reason. If a cop had to wait until a gun was pulled on him before firing back, what in the hell do you think would be the average life expectancy for a police officer, especially in the US? A few months would ge my guess.
It's that simple. That is why you obey police orders, especially when resisting arrest after giving signs of being violent.
Otherwise, who in the hell would ever even apply for the police force? You'd literally be signing your own death certificate
Jacob Blake was wanted for a sex assault which was why he had been apprehended and was reaching for a knife in his car when he was shot.

Of all the folks killed by police how many are innocent law abiding citizens?

Floyd was scum for starters, should what happened to him of happened? Well no obviously, but if your a thug expect the law to resort in the manner they did, they are there to serve and protect innocent people, he wasn’t innocent..

It’s the same with all this nonsense.. if you ain’t a low life in the first place then you won’t have a issue, it’s pretty simple. There all full of gear and criminals to begin with.

How did the world get it so wrong when those putting on a uniform to protect you from scum are now the bad men?

Bet many on here wanting to defund the police and black lives matter etc should they have a issue the police are the first they would call if they had a problem..

Several generations of POC who routinely get stopped, pulled over, searched, that are law-abiding citizens but happen to be POC would disagree with that sentiment :)

Remember all the talk of prisoners being let out early all over the USA due to Corona concerns?
My guess is that they are being paid handsomely with the added bonus of whatever they loot they can keep

I’ve a Dubious background, kept bad company.

I’ve been pulled over many times, had my house raided for example just because of things in my past.

Things that are very much behind me, every time I’ve complied with the police, spent over nighters and had all my mobiles etc ceased.

Not once have i obstructed the police as I understood the life I lived many years ago isn’t just erased, I knew I’d done nothing wrong and the police 99.9% or the time treated me well.

If I had or obstructed, refused access or got aggressive with them and i was for example tasered (its the uk) then that’s my fault.

You only resist if you have anything to hide and I’m being more open than I’d like here, but a innocent man doesn’t lie or run.

Also had I been treated roughly based on my past then I’d totally get that, the police have warnings on dangerous offenders and rightly so, they are there to protect the public and not some low life criminal whom has a dependency for the possibility of violence.

The likes of floyd had a history and all the others, also known drug users and unpredictable.

Now I never took gear, but was well known to be able to back up myself, the police if they felt or feel threatened when attending a home or a pull over are well within there rights to defend themselves and uphold the law.

It’s easy to call out all this as many do on here, but not many have genuinely been on both sides of the fence.

I wasnt commenting on the floyd case specifically, rather that, yes, racism is well and truly alive, yes, POC do have cause to fear the police, and sure, there are wonderfully stellar police, who abide by the law and do their jobs fantastically.
and some feel they are above the law, not the enforcers of it

re -

You only resist if you have anything to hide ... but a innocent man doesn’t lie or run.

No, not really. It entirely depends on whether the police are acting lawfully.

Not really as you have no idea what info the police have on a suspect, that’s not made public for obvious reasons.

We here also have ‘osman’ warnings, that’s where who ever they are looking for also have threats on there lives that the police are law bound to inform whom they are looking for,

Police don’t just aggressively slam folks to the ground (albeit very rarely) unless they have past info on the person.

What I’m saying is all (every one infact) in the outrage we see here have had a very poor past criminally, that’s fact... the police on a whole are there to protect and serve the innocent, not the scumbag they are arresting.

as said I’ve been on both sides, one thing I’ll say however is that if your not a criminal, black or white you won’t have a issue..

The disturbing thing now that’s factual is they are policing wrong thought, like aus and Germany, also me here.

You say something others don’t like and your automatically hitler. Well that’s wrong.

Anyhow I’ll post my crappy corona tea shortly, pointless getting to deep into this as the end result is predictable.

That said.... my frog made me smile :-)

It's nice to hear all that is behind you now.

I also hope you application to appear on Master Chef is successful.

Sorry, no but that isnt how it works

knockknock - POLICE! Open up, we're searching your home

Um, do you have a warrant or cause?

Well, no, no warrant. But you were bad before, so we're coming in. If you have nothing to hide, you dont have to worry.

Ya, no, sorry. That isnt how that works. How this works now, is you give me your name and badge number and my lawyer will be contacting you.

___

as to the other comments, I dont even know really where to begin

Yes, Yes,they do.

No, they are even there to protect the 'scumbags' - that's how it works.

I’ll say however is that if your not a criminal, black or white you won’t have a issue..

Sometimes being a different race colour or from a certain neighbourhood brings about many unwarranted issues

Coronavirus: German parents angry at order to isolate their children
Some German parents have received orders to quarantine their children and isolate them from other family members — or face having them forcibly removed from home. A parents' group said the demand amounted to "cruelty."

"In both cases the children brought a note from the local health authority ordering the parents not only to make sure the children wore a mask at home but also to be completely isolated from other family members for the two-week quarantine period, including mealtimes.

If parents were found to disobey these orders, the note said, the children could be forcibly removed by authorities and quarantined in an isolation facility "

So it seems there was an incident, probably the authorities backtracked when they sensed what the level of public backlash would be.

I'm sure govts have thought and considered this move, it ramps up the psychological pressure and effect of the lockdown, thus making it more likely the measures required in the 'new normal' will be accepted.

German lockdown was too harsh says health minister
Jens Spahn’s comments trigger demands for an inquiry into early pandemic decisions

“With the knowledge of today, I can tell you no hairdressers would have to close and no shops,” he said. “That will not happen again. We won’t need visitor bans in care homes, either.”

He said Germany could avoid a second lockdown because people had “learned in the last months how to protect ourselves”, using masks instead of closing shops and services.

On Wednesday an 80-year-old woman from Würzburg, northern Bavaria, told the Bild tabloid how lockdown rules meant she was unable to hold her husband’s hand when he died in a care home on April 9th.

“When I hear now that I could have visited, the mourning comes over me again,” she said. “It was so hard because my husband kept demanding to see me.”

On Wednesday the German leader met US entrepreneur Elon Musk in Berlin. He is in town for the topping-out ceremony of a new Tesla factory east of the capital. Ahead of that, he discussed with Dr Merkel his plan for a global network of automated labs to produce distribute Covid-19 vaccines, when available.

Meanwhile leading German virologist, Dr Christian Drosten, a special adviser on the pandemic to Dr Merkel, has said it should possible to reduce the quarantine period for returning travellers from 14 to five days.

Once in a generation event (well, hopefully) and nobody really knew what to do. But I'm fairly certain that for Covid we won't see a lockdown again like we had this spring. I wonder what we're gonna do when, yes I'm saying when not if, there's a virus that's as nasty in terms of transmission but has a mortality rate that's ten times higher...

Yes it could happen if the planet/nature has some sort of safety mechanism/process to cut the human population when it endangers the rest of the planet, like a cull.

There's a balance in the ecosystem, look what happened to the dinosaurs, wiped out by something.

truly; there's really no reason to believe we (humans) arent a blip in Earth's life cycle..end of day, really, we're just a rather smarter monkey (and a bastard one at that)

Something that has not been reported in the media, found in a google virus update search or snopes virus update search or other funded fact.checkers.
The American Center for Disease Control and Prevention have admitted that only 6% of those who had previously been claimed to of died of Covid had died of it. Most of the deaths where the very old or very ill with at least 2 co morbidities and where dying anyhoo.
"At least two co-morbidities"
Which means those figures could be even lower. 6% is 9,000 deaths over 6 months or so. Replicate that worldwide then ask if it was worth everything that they have put the world through and compare it to the death rates from other ailments.
How many suicides in that time in America? How much more mental illnesses? Depression. Domestic abuse due to lock down? Child abuses where they can not get away from the abuser due to lockdown? Most child abuse is detected at school!
I could go on
As an update. The ACDC has now hidden their statistics and the few American publications that reported it have now removed any trace of these facts.
As an aside the pregnant women arrested for posting a protest gathering video after watching it a few times makes me wonder. The cops state that they will take away every device including mobiles from their home. How come the video appeared so quickly from his mobile?
How come that an obscure organisation that I have never heard of knew about covid 19 long before it happened? I am surprised it has not been removed by either google or any other browser prompting? It will go just like so many other links I have posted in this thread many months ago.

Here it is

I'm pretty sure the year on that webpage is the year of agreement on the tariffs of trade between countries.

I mean, Austria knew about Covid-19 in 1990? I don't think so.

About that 6% figure. Did they really admit that? Or is there another side to the story?

Just asking, I haven't read up on that one in depth.

I can't envisage they hadn't stumbled upon or cultivated various incarnations of Covid strains before, though never on a 'Let's release this bad-boy onto the world stage' level, but rather within the scientific community

It looks like I have involved myself in this discussion again. It is late here so forgive me for not giving you a proper reply but vodka and slots are my focus right now before bed.
With respect I will come back

SARS and MERS are coronaviruses. And I'm pretty sure they've done research on coronaviruses carried by bats. And probably on the human coronaviruses too.

I was not trying to get into an argument with you. The article link I posted just caught my eye tonight and I remembered you mentioned this before.

I actually don't really care that much about either way.

Enjoy the vodka and slots. Way better use of ones time anyway.

I have no issue with you at all. Just drunkenly posting my shit and I will probably regret it tomorrow.
Regardless I will respond even if I limit it again
Slots. Please !!!

This is a poor effort granted.

the burger is good quality, steak mince and real.
and the bun toasted, a onion ring added and the green stuff (salad) and real mature cheddar cheese.

the chips are m and s best (not that great)

and the garlic bread tasted as badly as it looked..

also Isabelle’s spare chicken dippers we use in emergency situations...

But made some fine hot sauce to accompany such a meal!..

And to drink was a black current Capri sun pouch (also stolen from my child) that said she’s at least 18 left...

Corona cooking is back

Quite an alarming increase in cases the last couple of days in the UK
Considering Sunday and Monday figures are historically a lot lower than Tuesdays, it's not looking good for tomorrow :(

But as they are testing far more people then they will find more cases. How can a pandemic be so deadly when you need to be tested to learn that you have it?

Testing hasn't increased as much over the last few days as the cases have though, and any hospitalization / deaths wouldn't show in any figures yet. Plus it seems to be mainly younger people getting it, so the risk of hospital treatment or death is greatly reduced.
