So kind of Coronavirus related, but related to the sheer stupidity of our idiot government in the UK and their desperate attempts to look like they are dealing with health in the wake of Coronavirus

Obesity: Unhealthy 'buy one get one free' deals targeted

The method it appears is to

Recruit "healthy weight coaches" for the NHS (I think we would prefer more doctors and nurses)
Get Doctors to prescribe cycling and exercise (I'm pretty sure they already do that)
Ban unhealthy 2 for 1 Meals in Supermarkets

Now our Tory politicians may be able to shop in Waitrose and Harrods, but these 2 for 1 meals are frequently the staple diet of many of our poor families, rightly or wrongly. And in the current financial climate is making food more expensive the right way to go?. Still I guess people will no longer be able to buy unhealthy 2 for 1 meals, they will just have to make do with the unhealthy meals which the supermarkets have reduced to half price for that week

Bottom line is that 3 measures above are either totally irrelevant and already in place, or easily circumnavigated.

I am starting to think that Boris should donate his "brain" to science. We could put it next to Albert Einsteins and show the extremes at either end of the intelligence spectrum.

As an aside, being preached to about how to eat and live a healthy lifestyle by a fat bar steward like Boris, is like being lectured to about the benefits of avoiding tobacco by a guy smoking a pipe.

Gettting sick of hearing how hard done by the BAME community is.
Last week they were moaning about stop and search while hiding weapons and drugs in kiddys playgrounds
stabbing each other and running over and killing an innocent member of the public.
Now its disproprtional fines for covid infractions,taking the simplistic view that more of them are being fined
than their percentage of the population.Bet if they gave the figure for number of BAME offenders you would find the fines given them to were far less in proportion than for the rest of us.

It might be an unpopular view but maybe they do get proportionately more fines, because they are more likely to act like total dickheads to the police, playing the victim card and thinking they can get away with it.

fresh chilli’s and some green peppers, Herbs and spices and some kidney beans.

Did Thailand’s early adoption of face masks, combined with a robust health care system, blunt the virus’s impact? Was it the outdoor lifestyle of many Thais, or their relatively low rates of pre-existing conditions?

Is there a genetic component in which the immune systems of Thais and others in the Mekong River region are more resistant to the coronavirus? Or is it some alchemy of all these factors that has insulated this country of 70 million people?

One thing is certain. Despite an influx of foreign visitors early in the year from countries badly hit by the coronavirus, Thailand has recorded fewer than 3,240 cases and 58 deaths. As of Thursday, there had been no cases of local transmission for about seven weeks.

Thailand’s low rate of infection appears to be shared by other countries in the Mekong River basin. Vietnam has not recorded a single death and has logged about three months without a case of community transmission. Myanmar has confirmed 336 cases of the virus, Cambodia 166 and Laos just 19.

Yunnan, the southwestern Chinese province through which the Mekong flows before meandering to Southeast Asia, had fewer than 190 cases. None are active now.
