Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

@mack - When I watched the original video last week someone posted a link to this, not sure if its real or not, didn't get many views though.

Its probably true.
The channel is run by a real sane person.

"So you think it's flat? Or are you a glober? Watch this series and you just might understand you are BOTH wrong!"

Have to admit, ive always been a bit of a glober.

It did stand out watching it at the time because it didn't really fit with anything else we'd seen happen in the protests, but I thought it was genuine as police officers sometimes do push people over.

But now looking at this video, the blood is coming from his ear area, whereas I assumed it was the back of his head when it hit the pavement. Maybe he burst his eardrum? I believe it's going to trial so maybe all this evidence will be examined.

As usual I post purely on what I am seeing and from where I am observing the situation it doesn’t look good.

Whilst some countries have seen a drop in daily cases and deaths, for others I think reality is just beginning. I posted a while back expressing my worries for countries like Brazil, India, Mexico and parts of Africa amongst others.

That concern is now becoming a reality unfortunately, as we are seeing the daily cases increase rapidly. My main concern would be that certain parts of these countries will not have the resources to cope. Many cases won’t even be recorded as a certain percentage will be too ill to travel or have no transport to get them to a testing port or a hospital.

Can we really believe that China the country that had it first (so there would have been a huge opportunity for it to spread like wildfire before they realised what it was) have really managed to contain it that well and are claiming single figure cases most days?

Whilst no other country in the world that has had a reasonably high number of cases can get anywhere near those figures despite having tried for 2 months longer.

He is wearing 2 masks. The N95 mask has yellow bands.

It's impossible to tell with China as they are so secretive. However they are not like India Africa etc in many ways. China run a military operation. When a rule is made it's followed. It's not like the uk where we fanny about and half the people decide to ignore the lockdown . In china lockdowns are enforced and the citizens mostly know better than to mess around. They can build hospitals virtually overnight. So them being in control and staying ahead of the virus is in many ways believable.

wait a few weeks after everyone has partied and hit beaches and jammed in stores and parks

And protests :(

For the UK it seems widespread testing may not be on the cards because of this logic which i find hard to understand........

Nooo bloody cheese ffs

Well after walking sox (in the rain) which both of us enjoyed about as much as toe surgery we retired to my little house, heating was on for our return.
I changed and dried the hound off, clothes in the wash basket and Sox’s harness on the radiator to dry.
got myself changed ready to cook...
then it hit me.... whilst out with sox I forgot to purchase smokes, yes bad habit I know but a man needs a vice...
Had to adorn said wet clothes and jog to Tesco Local to get some smokes for the evening and when I wake up, done the back no good at all.
looking at what I was going to cook wet and depressed was given the elbow and I ordered food instead....
Brothers and sisters!... and those not sure!.. I give you!!!!!
the chicken parmo! a Middlesbrough institution, unrivalled the world over.
A chicken breast breaded and deep fried, bechemel sauce and topped with loads of cheese (sorry) served with crap skinny fries and some terrible looking salad...
Some chilli sauce and a garlic dip...
sure I’ve posted a ‘parmo’ before but minimum it’s 3000 minimum calories for your eating pleasures!..

Also whilst waiting my next door neighbor whom is elderly and takes care of her autistic grandson was saying she was short of food over the fence as I took her drying (her dryer is broke) So....
Cooked a fast lasagne, yeah all that was from scratch, so fork poking nonsense didn’t happen here.
Steak mince, carrot and leek, garlic and oil pan base.
Quickly done until browned.
mince seasoned until browned,
Nice little mix together, some pre bought pasta sheets and white sauce.
two cheeses and cooked, also done her a baguette style g bread.
Left a bit for my daughter and me, women’s lovely always there for a chat, so one of my crappy lasagnes she was pleased with....
Should of actually had that rather than the takeaway in all honesty but was already on route when I knocked that up.
Granted looks a bit rough but was done asap.

I makes me very happy to see this thread is back on track.

The universal truth is that cheese makes everything better. But you also need wine with it.

It's a fine summer Saturday. I think I'll have some cheese and wine for breakfast and power up the good old mint flavored time machine. Also virtual Download is this weekend. Happy days!

Wonder what kind of time machine you are talking about..

It should be painfully clear by now, that what I write might not be what I mean. Or has a cryptic or hidden meaning behind the text. It could also mean that I'm still drunk from yesterday or just simply not quite mentally stable. :)

Wait until my language studies reach the Kanji phase. Things will get interesting. At least for me. Probably others won't share that sentiment though :p

Is this the simulation hypothesis? Or was the new Matrix movie released yet? I do not know.

I love the off-topic stuff! This puts a smile to my face :)

More offtopic, and slightly cheesy, be warned: for those that love Pasta, with traditional Bolognese or Tomato sauces, and who happen to have the real Parmeggiano Reggiano at home (or are willing to purchase one) as a whole wheel or part with crust, there's a Grandma's trick that is used by some of the best chefs, and although no secret - definitely not well-known either...

Ready to blow your mind? When the wheel is almost finished, and all that's left seems crust, or too much effort to scrape: throw the fucker in your "Ragu" and let it simmer in there for a few hours! Thank me later...

Note that you don't want the ones with waxcoating, or if it has, make sure to remove that: if you do, you can even grill the thing and eat it, you'll be surprised :) Throw a piece in a bottle of Olive Oil with some fresh herbs, have a delicious salad dressing, or the base for one.

I tried looking for some pic's or vid's on Youtube to show you, but i couldn't really find anything which kinda makes my point, that it's not well known...:p

Ben, I gotta ask....

What in the actual name of F*CK is that "thing" on the left?:eek2:

It looks like a fillet of shoe insole in a beer-stained lino flooring batter
ie something that is tougher to chew on than a pair of wellington boots.

You gotta raise your game mate.

However, it would be unfair of me to criticise your.....cough.....culinary skills without offering to steer you in the right direction.
So I give you...none other than the one and only Christopher Walken to give you some guidance towards culinary excellence...

PS You're welcome

But thats so advanced.
You need to start with the basics.
And to keep with the cheese-theme we got going.

"Hello wildcats" :laugh::laugh:

This is probably the best cooking channel on all of youtube.

That what's I get for revealing my achilles heel. More fu....

....."effing" cheese.

Although it has to be said, cheese does make me laugh sometimes.....

Have you seen Lilyhammer?
Great f*cking show.
Van Zandt is great in it.
"Frank Tagliano (

Intrigued by the place after watching the Winter Olympics in 1994, he is relocated to Lillehammer in Norway. The transition from being a feared and respected gangster in New York, to becoming an unemployed immigrant in Norway, is not simple. Frank soon discovers that in order to succeed in this rural Norwegian society, he must resort to his old ways. "

I haven't seen it mate. But I am aware of it (you couldn't possibly be not aware after a session of binge watching Sopranos clips and reading the comments  ).

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that SVZ is great in it. He was great in the Sopranos.

Hard to believe that someone who had no acting experience before the Sopranos could take to acting like a duck to water.

I'll have to check Lilyhammer out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just dont expect Sopranos.
if Sopranos is 90% serious and 10% comedy, Lillyhammer is the opposite.
Still great tho.

Cheese and onion squares are the boss.

Poor mans Tayto...downside is, despite washing your hands with Covid level intensity, you'll still smell their aroma.

Whether that's a good thing, or not....

Think, with Tayto, they pour the grease over their crisps after they've been made.

Love onion ring crisps, used to hollow out a loaf of bread back in the day on school lunch and fill with onion ring crisps or pickled onion space raiders.

Love onion ring crisps, used to hollow out a loaf of bread back in the day on school lunch and fill with onion ring crisps or pickled onion space raiders.

Those were the days.

Belfast bap + a packet (maybe two) of crisps or corn-based snack of choice = one very happy camper.

Not the slightest bit ashamed to admit it, but the other day, I decided to take a culinary trip down memory lane.

Two slices of Irwins Nutty Krust and a packet of Flame Grilled Steak McCoys for a makeshift version of the 80s schoolboys lunch.

That day was a good day.
