Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

All is well, it's dark and I have a cold beer in my hand. Headphones blasting great music from Spotify. Happy happy happy.
I will sleep better knowing that.
And the fact your drinking also has had a devil like effect on me.
I’ve opened one, and a rum and ice and put a zombie movie on.

Are they fucking real, still allowing people to enter UK without testing, spokestwat said
its not proven that countries who test arrivals fare any better than the UK, I have a feeling
they might do.
Do they take us for idiots, you can buy a bloody point at person themometer from Amazon, would take seconds
to check people for a fever, they cant even do that. Makes you wonder what their agenda really is.

Cant decide if this is more funny or sad.

… just blunt and to the point, not scared to have his opinion. Quite frankly I admire that. Refreshing in this day and age where most people are afraid to call a spade a spade.

And why is that, exactly? It seems to me that anyone with a different view to the accepted norm these days is quite often vilified, due to the prevalent PC and herd mentality that is partially responsible for the abandonment of the principles of free speech, debate and rational discussion.

There are so many different sources of information available these days that it is difficult to sort out what is factual, what could be a conspiracy theory, what is well-researched, and what is not.

In fact, the vitriol and abuse leveled at people with differing views is quite astounding.

But it all seems to come down to the following:

You don't agree with me? You are a stupid, uninformed idiot.

You agree with me? You're obviously well informed and intelligent.

See how it goes?

And regrettably, this thread is not immune.

...a race of people to potentially suffer as a result when we each have the power to simply call it covid or coronavirus to help prevent that.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but attacks on anyone of Asian appearance here are increasing. I don't know if Australians are inherently racist, but this behaviour is truly appalling.

But the Chosen One was only joking, don't you know? He said so last night during his WH propaganda rally AKA press conference. And it was not just a sarcastic question, it was a very sarcastic one. :D

"I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen."

"But I was asking a sarcastic — and a very sarcastic question — to the reporters in the room about disinfectant on the inside."

That makes sense.
It was either double down on it or pretend it was a joke.
Atleast he made the right choice. =)

I have watched the clip numerous times, and when he made that comment, it was as more of a murmered aside, directed to Dr. Debbie Birx, not to the room at large.

So how he can possibly say he was asking a sarcastic question to see how the reporters in the room would react stretches credulity beyond belief, as he wasn't talking to them at that point in his briefing, but to Dr. Birx.

He's giving .....eerm....eerm...alternative facts...ahem...excuses. :D

I was surprised he did not blame somebody, e.g. Obama said the same or the like.

The crux of it is that Trump clearly took snippets of what he wanted to hear and conveyed them rather clumsily, hence him talking more with his medical advisors throughout than actually giving any definitive statement to the press. We see more of the side of his glorious blonde mane than anything else

If anything he's not even sure as he's saying it live, but the main gist of it seems to be

heat

light

disinfectant

....after which a lot of hand-rubbing ensues extolling the virtues of said 'disinfectant'

So whilst certainly meme-worthy it's fairly apparent someone should have shoved an actual medical expert centre stage to roll out the terminology. I'm pretty sure most household disinfectants would do a bang-up job in killing viruses, even inside the body. Might be a tad problematic, but still!

The only thing he's clearly backtracking on is his bumbling delivery of this 'breakthrough', because I'm convinced that he and his medical researchers probably believe there's something to this method. So less 'sarcastic', just 'I didn't know what I was saying'

Now to only find a way of making the virus linger on the surface, or to administer these disinfectants into patients without shutting down major organs!

Nah mate, he simply showed that he is indeed a snake oil salesman who will peddle anything to make him what he thinks good and smart. And in charge!

He also lobbed at the press people last night: "I am the president and you are fake news."

The cultists will be in a frenzy for days again as in: "The Messiah is almighty, he knows everything and can cure any disease. See I told you so." ....just enough time for him to find another ruse he can peddle to them.

I know your hatred of him knows no limits but you're telling me you believe he meant to advocate using household cleaners as a solution, thought up by himself, to look smart? Not that he heard some medical jargon and couldn't convey the terms properly?

Interesting, I must say!

"Tremendous number on the lungs"

Again, hardly medical terms are they? It's quite obvious that that he inferred something be administered to tackle the virus at its source. I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant a literal guide

But by all means, if that's what you believe!

I certainly will not follow his nonsense but you had some people drinking fish tank cleaner after he mentioned CQ in a similar fashion.

You simply do not spout such nonsense to an audience of millions because there are always some stupid enough to try it out. That you are trying to find an excuse for his ramblings because he did not use a "medical term" is rather pathetic.

They can actually use uv-light to disinfect equipment etc.
Im not 100% sure, but i think the light used for that would cook a person.
Even if it didnt, how are you gonna shine the light inside the lungs? =)

Someone should have stepped in and "saved" him from his poor attempt at explaining what he meant.
But who would want to push Trump aside to give a proper explanation?
That would make it look like Trump didnt know what he was talking about.

Are you for real? Get off your mouth-frothing Trump hate for maybe one second and get a grip on reality

I stated he was out of his depth based on his address, not that I excused his delivery or message

Pathetic

Fauci has been pretty good at that. Maybe that's why he isn't there that often. Gotta let dr. Trump to be the hero. First it was hydroxychloroquine...then it was zinc...now some cleaning agent under your skin and a fleshlight up your ass to shine the bad virus away. I hope there's some betting agency somewhere that bets on what Trump suggests next as a medical treatment.

I would argue that's an improper use of such a device.

I think everybody should get together and have a drink once this is all over ;)

I have just finished work, tired and I have no idea what anyone is talking about all I know is Trump is an idiot, Corona virus is still around and there is no cure.

All of you are great in different ways, annoying sometimes but great :D

You are right, i am great in different ways.
But most importantly, you really need to learn some more stuff.

Do you know how much I have learnt ? Maybe not what you have learnt. :p

Its not always about you :p:p:p

Everybody is smart in their own way and everybody has some kind of a talent and it might not be the same as your talent and that's ok :)

Edited: as I got what you meant

Like i would be scared of dragons.
Its not like they are spiders.

If such a bill was passed there would probably be a period of time for people to get a license.
I kind of thought you already needed a license to own a firearm there.

I know they like their guns, but its not like the current gun-laws are without problems.
Not like they can overthrow the government with them no matter how many guns they stockpile.
It tells me that anyone can be put up as a Rep in America because they are just puppets. As if this guy is capable of even writing his own shopping list.

It also tells me that Americas laws are being tightened in the wake of having armed people on the streets. That will not go down well with the natives.

BTW @geordiecolin

Did you read that patent application/grant?

No I didn't but I look forward to you enlightening me?

Did you read the charges sited against Kill Gates that has been posted a few times already in here? I would be interested to hear your thoughts on them.

"Vaccines, for Bill Gates, are a strategic philanthropy that feed his many vaccine-related businesses (including Microsoft’s ambition to control a global vac ID enterprise) and give him dictatorial control over global health policy—the spear tip of corporate neo-imperialism.

Gates’ obsession with vaccines seems fueled by a messianic conviction that he is ordained to save the world with technology and a god-like willingness to experiment with the lives of lesser humans.

Promising to eradicate Polio with $1.2 billion, Gates took control of India ‘s National Advisory Board (NAB) and mandated 50 polio vaccines (up from 5) to every child before age 5. Indian doctors blame the Gates campaign for a devastating vaccine-strain polio epidemic that paralyzed 496,000 children between 2000 and 2017.

In 2017, the Indian Government dialed back Gates’ vaccine regimen and evicted Gates and his cronies from the NAB. Polio paralysis rates dropped precipitously. In 2017, the World Health Organization reluctantly admitted that the global polio explosion is predominantly vaccine strain, meaning it is coming from Gates’ Vaccine Program. The most frightening epidemics in Congo, the Philippines, and Afghanistan are all linked to Gates’ vaccines.

By 2018, ¾ of global polio cases were from Gates’ vaccines.

In 2014, the Gates Foundation funded tests of experimental HPV vaccines, developed by GSK and Merck, on 23,000 young girls in remote Indian provinces.

Approximately 1,200 suffered severe side effects, including autoimmune and fertility disorders. Seven died. Indian government investigations charged that Gates funded researchers committed pervasive ethical violations: pressuring vulnerable village girls into the trial, bullying parents, forging consent forms, and refusing medical care to the injured girls. The case is now in the country’s Supreme Court.

In 2010, the Gates Foundation funded a trial of a GSK’s experimental malaria vaccine, killing 151 African infants and causing serious adverse effects including paralysis, seizure, and febrile convulsions to 1,048 of the 5,049 children. "

Came across this interview this morning from a week ago with a senior Swedish epidemiologist. He makes a couple of interesting points to keep track of. You can either watch the vid or read the recap of the interview in the intro.

Interesting point, if true, about the paper presented by Imperial College that supposedly influenced a u-turn from Boris. 6 mins onwards. But interesting video all the way.

I dont think its a response to having armed people on the streets.
Bill was introduced Jan 30th, and was probably in the works before the virus was even discovered.

I agree that any sort of restriction on guns wont go down well tho.
But i dont think the bill will pass, not with republicans in the WH

Unfortunately it is something that is deep within all of us and in nature, there is nothing more true than
birds of a feather and any animal that is different from its herd is doomed. At school I was constantly
bullied as I considered different and had no friends,no idea why.We have had to adapt to supress the worst
effect of this but its the basis for racism, take a classroom with 19 whites and one black, the black is often
to have a tough time through not fault of their own other than not being considered as part of the herd.
Sad but thats the way we evolved and survived.

You simply do not spout such nonsense to an audience of millions because there are always some stupid enough to try it out. That you are trying to find an excuse for his ramblings because he did not use a "medical term" is rather pathetic.
Its enough to drive you to drink.

As a gesture of good will can I tempt you with a wee tipple? Sex on the Bleach, Harpic Wallbanger, Domestini or Carbolic Colada anyone?

I dont think this is true; it's usually the sick and weak are doomed - and there, it depends on the species as some will wait for and protect the weaker...not the colour.
Do you think a parrot cares it's green and another blue, or a brown cat that another is white, a black lab and golden lab inherently hate one another?
Racism is a LEARNED trait, not a built in one

Sorry we will have to beg to differ, can I ask question, why would a number of one enthic group attack
a lone member of another ethnic group on the street for no apparant reason, we are all the same species
It would be classed as a hate crime rightly so,but the real reason is that the lone person would be seen as
different and not part of the herd.I can give you a few locations in Nottingham if you want to test the theory.
Bear in mind we are not just talking black against white or vice versa, but between all ethnic groups.
Uncomfortable as it may be its part of our makeup not learned behavior.
