Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

Given the quantity of field hospitals and morgues being set up around the world without being used and a number of countries having flattened the curve it makes me wonder if they are expecting a second more deadly wave at some point.
More than the economy I am becoming concerned with what is happening with food supplies alongside all sorts of other supplies that each country relies upon.
Countries are no longer transporting which leaves fresh produce rotting in the fields as well as meat and dairy products going to waste. If it hasn't already started then soon farmers will begin slaughtering their livestock without being able to transport.
If our Countries are dealing with national security then why are they not dealing with these issues before we begin to starve?

Let's hope they're being set up to be used if necessary rather than them expecting a second wave so quickly after the first. Even right now there are certain areas that need the extra capacity whilst others might have only a "couple" of patients in their local hospitals.
The province I live in had to move patients around to other provinces because of capacity problems, meanwhile the situation is slightly better in most of the hospitals with more patients recovering and less people being admitted.

Damn.
Dude has been uploading 4.3 videos per day for 2 years and 7 months.
And to like a bunch of different sites.
Is that the way he makes his living, because just managing&uploading the videos must take alot of time.
Went down the rabbithole and he seems to be a big fan of the occult.

Edit: i should add this was not meant as a diss.
Some of it was quite interesting.

Black Chicagoans account for half of all coronavirus cases in the city and more than 70% of deaths, despite making up 30% of the population.

Other cities with large black populations, including Detroit, Milwaukee, New Orleans and New York, have become coronavirus hotspots.

Mayor Lightfoot said diabetes, heart disease and respiratory illness were "really prevalent" in black communities.
There is some info floating around there saying that those who are darker-skinned may need to talk to their doctors about Vitamin D since they make less Vitamin D. Might be a correlation or not.

It begs the question how many folk go into hospital with unrelated conditions, test positive so they are moved to a ward for the virus but leave without actually showing any symptoms? That must be quite a significant number given the fact that so many are said to show no to little actual symptoms?

I posted a link in here I believe quite a while back where the article suggested something about a lack of a chromisone or some such that some ethnicities lack in which can effect their ability to fend of an attack to their lungs but I am off so I would have to find it later

I was just going to ask if there was any genetic differences between white&black people that could alter how the virus affects people.
Like, me being ginger i am basically a superhuman, and soak up vitamin d much faster than you inferior people.
Downside is i cant be outside when the sun is up.

Could there be some genetic difference, like you said less d vitamin due to them not soaking it up as easy as those with lighter skin.

Oh, also gingers have higher pain tolerance than "normal" people.
So anyone wanna fight, meet me behind the gym when the sun has set.

So they are basically saying its due to a higher % of black people (or african american) having other medical issues making them more likely to be infected and having a tougher time with the virus, right?

Have they looked at how it looks income-wise in the areas worst affected?
Being poor in USA may mean you cant afford to go to the doctor.
Was wondering if maybe there were similar numbers in poor communities where white people are the majority.

Or, the virus is racist.

I’ve read that a lack of health insurance in the US plays a big part in the rampant spread of COVID-19 there. People of all races who can’t afford to see the doctor, will avoid it and continue to spread the virus in their community.
Statistically, African Americans:
  • Have lower levels of health insurance
  • Higher rates of pre-existing conditions like asthma, diabetes, and obesity
  • Less access to public health care
  • More likely to work in service jobs where working from home is not an option
  • Tend to live in urban, high-density areas where Covid-19 spreads faster
  • More likely to have lower incomes and living in crowded conditions which makes it difficult to self-isolate.

Vitamin D absorption is not a factor. The reason is socioeconomic and is unique to the US. Otherwise we would be seeing higher rates of infection in darker-skinned people in all countries, not just in the States.

Yeah, i was kind of thinking being poor+their healthcare system could be the culprit.
How you live, what you eat, not affording to take care of your health etc all makes different for your immunesystem.

But before we leave the topic of skin-color completely, i would like to add that perfume smell different on gingers.
Something to do with our acidic skin mantle.
Im not sure if the smell gets better or worse, but im gonna go ahead and decide that i smell better than blondes&brunettes.

good point, they never mentioned the health care aspect, I'm presume the US hospitals must be treating people free if they have no insurance.

Another good point, it seems to be affecting the colder parts of the US more, which could also relate to the vitamin d levels and dark skin factor.

Can I be the devil's advocate (or next conspiracy theorist :))?

Why everyone is so certain that the COVID19 is so deadly and we need those lock downs when many scientists (who are experts in this field) are not?

I know, because of the hysteria created by media showing crowded hospitals, counters of Corona virus cases and death toll.

About 90 000 people died up to day, which is sad. I guess it is a common knowledge by now that about 250 000-500 000 people die each year in flu (according to WHO).
Some seasons are more severe than the others. Like in 2018, when 33 000 people died in England and Wales.
Here is how the current outbreak compares to that.

At the moment I am not fully convinced that the lock downs (and its consequences) were really necessary and they are not counter productive.

That's a good question, I'm not sure how this is handled.

My guess is they're being treated for their unrelated condition in the COVID section of the hospital (which are usually single bed rooms rather than wards) and released to self-isolate when their unrelated condition is better and they don't show worse COVID symptoms.

On the other hand hospitals and GP's here are wondering where their patients with other illnesses are. They're seeing a decline in heart attacks, strokes and basically all other illnesses :eek2:

Me and the missus just had the best Corona row, first one in a very long time

Needless to say it ended with me winning (in my mind) with her winning in reality. Lasted about as long as me during love-making, 5 minutes and it was all over. Then I rolled over and fell asleep

Do it 4 times on the bounce do you? :D

I knew it wouldn't be long before the BBC added their twisted racial slant to the crisis. They must've been itching to maintain their constant barrage of ethnocentric news articles since the takeaways and schools and sport shut down.

We had the racist hurricane Katrina which seemingly singled out black Americans while leaving white homes undamaged. It settled down after the 2012 Olympics in London where Mohammed Farah won all 29 GB gold medals apparently then flared up after the Brexit vote as it showed 17.4 million Britons were racists and nobody non-white voted for Brexit. Now we have a racist virus to go along with a racist PM and racist actors in TV dramas.

Jeeze, it's so simple. A very high proportion of non-whites live in urban high-density areas which tend to be large conurbations where points of transport converge and airports are and infected people congregate. This is where it takes hold first and fastest, as indeed it has in London and NY. Perhaps they should rename it COVID-C18?

The daughter ran me ragged today, non stop playing so can’t be bothered to cook.

Can confirm. Two of my good friends are red-heads and in one of them, her skin just eats jewelry, unless it’s gold, 14K or higher.

Both of them experience pain more intensely than anyone else I know, both need extra anesthetic freezing at the dentist because they metabolize it so quickly.

Gingers are weird. :p

I just can’t. This crap has been posted and debunked just too many times. Why don’t you get off the internet and the conspiracy theory nutbar sites you visit and head on down to your nearest major metropolitan hospital and see for yourself?

Don’t take anyone’s word for it that Covid-19 is a deadly pandemic! Not the scientists, doctors, nurses, EMT workers, world leaders, no one! They must be all in cahoots with Big Pharma and the Deep State! Amirite?

Go to the hospital yourself and walk right into the ER! Don’t wear a mask or any PPE. See how that works out for you.

You need to remember that current death tolls are with social distancing measures in place. Imagine if nothing was done. UK's population is about 66milj. If around 75% of them gets the virus and around 2% of them die. That's about 1milj. deaths in UK alone since there are no vaccines. Plus huge overcrowding in hospitals so death rate could rise with that too.

That is the issue. We do not know the exact fatality rate due to missing reliable data. Some recent analysis suggests it is much lower than predicted.

What would be the fatality rate for the decisions makers where they would let people carry on with their normal life? 0.001%?

I quoted (I know it was also debunked million times):

Finally, in OECD countries, SARS-CoV-2 does not seem to be deadlier than other circulating viruses. In addition to coronaviruses, there are 16 endemic viruses in common circulation in developed countries (adenovirus, bocavirus, cytomegalovirus, enterovirus, influenza A H1N1 virus, influenza A H3N2 virus, influenza B virus, metapneumovirus, parainfluenzae virus 1, parainfluenzae virus 2, parainfluenzae virus 3, parainfluenzae virus 4, parechovirus, picornavirus, rhinovirus, syncytial respiratory virus), and 2.6 million deaths from respiratory infections (excluding tuberculosis) per year have been noted in recent years worldwide

. There is little chance that the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 could change this statistic significantly. Fear could have a larger impact than the virus itself; a case of suicide motivated by the fear of SARS-COV-2 has been reported in India

Just a friendly word of advice from someone who has been on the receiving end, don't bother posting such things here, because you will be gaslighted, attacked with vitriol, ad-hominem, demonised etc.

So whats your suggestion as to the cause of all these deaths? I suppose the extra provision for storing corpses is something that happens all the time during flu season? The same way they always run out of ICU beds and have to take over exhibition centres to create new hospitals?

I'm asking your opinion. Decision makers have made their decision. What's the number for you?

Without putting a number out there myself, at some point our decision makers will deem a number acceptable. We'll have to move on, phasing out on the measures in place right now, but we can't close down our economy like we've done now on and off. We'll have to rely on the common sense of people too.

And that last part is what worries me because alot of people don't have common sense currently, still trying to defy those "pesky" measures like keeping a 1.5m distance or don't cycle in groups or...

That I agree with. They need to increase testing capabilities...maybe give some kind of documentation to all who have been tested and have been proven that they don't have the virus...and then they can go back to work while rest of the people wait for the tests. And force everyone wear masks while they wait for tests. I don't trust people's common sense. There are always too many idiots and you only need couple of them to have another pandemic.

I try not to think on race in any form affecting a major crisis but it does happen. It is sad but i saw on you tube where some black men were asked to remove their masks or leave. As far as the coronavirus i don't think it hits just one race worse. Its up to interpretation why it is that way.

As for me, i have been sleeping off and on for days now. I hope its just stress. No fever as of yet. Just complete and utterly feeling drained.

If we didn't have a flu vaccine this would probably happen more often, so let's hope there's a vaccine for this disease very soon!

2017/18 had a particularly serious flu season, I remember some hospitals in the Netherlands had no more beds left for patients with the flu and they had to be spread out across the country.

Let's hope the field hospitals are just there as precaution!

Don't you think normal flu would have much higher mortality rate if there were no vaccines?

Yes for sure it would you are right.

What none of these conspiracy bods will answer is why are the hospitals full and extra hospitals being built if this is the same as the flu? We don't normally have to cancel normal operations to keep beds available or get beds from private hospitals or build temporary hospitals so why do we now? We don't normally run out of ventilators so why have we now? We don't normally need more morgues so why do we now '? If this is less lethal than the flu (which it isn't ) then surely none of these things would be happening.
