Suprised he has not gotten infected on purpose to show how not a big deal it is and get the country back in business again. Are you trying to say that someone is contradicting the Chosen One? This is what he said last night in his ....ahem....reelection rally....ahem .....press conference.
The height of irresponsibility. You have now tons of blind followers and sycophants running to the pharmacy.

If a junior doctor has the tenacity and the resources to make testing kits i wonder why the UK government cant.
Edit: Maybe this could be why, it seems the rich can get tested no probs........

I know how his test works as it seems to be based on poking a finger.
Typically, blood tests are checking for a grain of salt. meaning you had to really help infected and "survived". Hence, that doesn't be to detect new cases.
But I'm expert on antibodies, this stuff, so take my words in this post with a blood sample.
don't & for were the words left over after i rearranged your post.
I think the self-isolation is getting to me.
Ah, back to baking i guess.

And most of us have some coronavirus antibodies in our system, be it SARS, MERS, H1N1 or other strains which are not that dangerous. IIRC, there are over 100 strains currently which the scientists know off. So, the next question is can his test reliably detect specifically the antibodies for COVID-19?

This influenza virus isn't from the coronavirus family
Bloodbanks are going to check donor blood for antibodies too in Belgium and the Netherlands, not sure about other countries but assuming they will too so it must be possible to specifically check for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.
Sorry. =)
Ill be making these, since i have a bunch of blueberries in the freezer.

They always come out looking slightly poisonous, but they are really good.
Its basically this recipe, but with alot of blueberries added.

Edit: Haha, what the hell. I didnt see the description on the recipe link.
"Kanelbullar or cinnamon buns are a classic at Swedish coffee parties. During the golden age of home baking, such parties turned into orgies of sweet yeast breads, small cookies, cookies with fillings, pastries and cakes. "
So yeah, come to me if you want a coffe party that might turn into an orgy of baked goods later on.

). Still about half of the cake left, not for long though.
Ooh, is that some sort of lemon cake?I had this for breakfast today, completely self-baked (not myself). Still about half of the cake left, not for long though.

Ooh, is that some sort of lemon cake?
Looks like mango or peach/mandarins in it.
How wrong am i?![]()

Ooops, sorry, you are of course right. Corrected my post.
There are tests where they can check for COVID-19 antibodies in minutes rather than hours. So nurses, doctors etc can check if they have been infected while working in the hospitals. But I would think it won't help testing people on the street.
Where has he got the reagent from though? It's not plain tab water and pretty "hot property" at the moment I would guess.
Someone must've donated the product to him is my best guess.I thought the drizzle on top could have been something lemony, but i guess its just mango-juice.Freshly cut mango with freshly whipped cream, nothing else. No lemon. The base is a standard cake base.![]()

Ive been brainwashed by my sister to like all things with lemon in them.
Edit: Also, cake for breakfast, what the hell.

I KNEW I SAW LEMON!You are right!
The syrup at the top has indeed a little lemon juice. Boiled together with some mango bits, sugar and a little water....then pressed through a sieve.
I have cake at any time of the day, I grew up on cake and sweet stuff![]()
I KNEW I SAW LEMON!
I mostly go for Müsli&yoghurt as breakfast.
Im skipping lunch most days, so i need something to make me last until dinner.
Gotta leave some cake for the next day, thats when it reaches its peak taste.Oh, if there is fresh cake in the house, I have it for breakfast, dessert after lunch, at coffee time, after dinner, for late supper and sometimes in between too. View attachment 127173

"Cakes allowed to sit for a day have their internal moisture more evenly distributed than when they're just baked. Flavors, too, have more time to spread throughout the cake and combine with other flavors.
This is much the same as happens with soups and stews: they're usually much better the day after they're cooked. "

Thats plenty! These cakes sit in the fridge overnight for the cream to set and I have no choice but to only look at them.
How much longer shall I "suffer", do you think?![]()
Thats plenty!
I just wouldnt want you to bake a cake and finish it the same day, missing out on superior nextdaycake.

Just bake 2, problem solved.
Unless you eat both on day 1.
Then you might have to bake 3.

The best time to bake a cake was yesterday, the second best time is now.Oh there is mostly another one there the next day. No time to waste on "old" cakes.![]()

All this talk of cake at breakfast time has forced me to do a rummage of the fridge in work and unfortunately these are as close as I could get to a cake but they’ll do lolThese cakes sit in the fridge overnight for the cream to set and I have no choice but to only look at them.

...... I can get them here at Cold Storage which sort of is part of Tesco.Yes it’s a virus thread which people are having shoved in their faces 24/7 and food is a great distraction IMHO..I understand that long threads like this one tend to go OT but this thread is 80% food now. Come on...
I too am blessed with the power to eat anything at any time of day.
Though this was not down to Mama's Sunday Afternoon Ladies Tea Parties!
I knew you were posh Harry!
Back to the testing kits, if the Dr can sort some and Private Clinics can offer it at a price then the government has failed the front line staff and 90% of the population.
At least Boris managed to comb his hair the other day. Thats one positive thing the government did i can find.

Romania mate ??Does this look posh to you?
That's the house I grew up in, although it was much, much, much better kept, same goes for the neighbour's house. Gipsies moved in after we emigrated in 1984 and that is the result.
Primary mobility options were horse-wagon or if you wanted something really fast, single-gear bicycles.
But I wouldn't change it for all gold in the world, nothing could give me that happy childhood I had.

We only became part of the country due to the Treaty of Versailles.

So your a posh vampire, like Tom Cruise from that film, you know, the one with Tom as a posh vampire.
I know exactly what you mean. I grew up in a run down rough part of Portsmouth called Leigh Park but i am the same in that i can say i had a great childhood and wouldnt change it.
As a child you enter the world with wonder and my area was just one huge concrete playground for me. Neighbours left keys in doors and there was a real sense of community spirit.
All the kids played outside and everybody looked out for each other.
Here's what its like now, not much different to when i was a child but the community is very, very diffferent now.
Our house the 3rd from the right and some of the precinct....

Edit: Sundays were great before Sunday trading came in.....the whole precinct was ghosted but for the local kids.

Getting back on track my mind has been thinking more about what to do over the coming months in reaction to Coronavirus and the possible after effects.
I heard my neighbour say to somebody yesterday 'this is going to change everything!'.
I know very little of economics but just read about how to prepare for an economic collapse.....

I wonder how serious i should take stories like this and wanted to ask if anybody is preparing especially for potential outcomes?
Homeworking seems to be at the forefront of my mind now and i also see a lot of antibacterial cleaning, food delivery etc businesses popping up and people making moves to adjust to the current climate.
Is anybody changing their plans for the future or making new plans and preparations as a result?
Can anyone help to shed any light on what to expect when we come out the other side of this?
