Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

Like ‘ simo ‘ the white death... man was a machine massive respect.
Yeah that snow-eating sonofagun was crazy.
Eating snow as to not make his breath show, and sniping without a scope to aovid people seeing light being reflected.

Edit: The sauna-joke was because you wrote steaming instead of streaming. :P

21st century version:

2 oz Vodka
1 oz Kahlúa
1 splash Heavy cream
To ration alcohol while self-isolating i would recommend not drinking more than one glass per day.

Just saw this from the WHO. They say we should be caring for every single case but i wonder how much of that is priority when there are not enough beds. I do feel the UK had a couple of weeks head start and should have prepared better. Our NHS is already at breaking point and food shortages are rife across the country.

Edit: Just saw this one about a Cuban developed anti viral drug being used to combat the virus.

I visited and found the place hardly like the picture painted by history and media.

In Australia the numbers are rising quick 1,709 cases :eek2:

Everything is closed of course except for grocery stores, banks, chemists etc

Thousands have lost their jobs and were lining up outside Centrelink as they couldn't get online due to website crashing.

Some people are only left with a couple of $$ until they receive some aid and who knows how long they have to wait.

My heart goes out to all the people that are finding it difficult to make ends meet especially with those that have children to feed. :(

It’s horrible.
I fell lucky, well not lucky but had a few quid hid away that I never touched a bean of for years, and so glad I didn’t.
I’m paid off from work I’m no pay, but have a tax rebate due also.
It’ll see me over and more importantly make sure my daughter is ok financially as her mother has never worked.
But there’s folks really struggling, self employed no idea what to do for example..
It’ll get worse also.
I just have the biggest respect for the badass doctors and nurses, cleaning staff and those whom work protecting us and saving lives.
Won’t be forgotten.

I am just happy, I have coffee :D

ive coffee but alas the 60 bottles of wine I ordered likely not gonna see for some time :( - it was being brewed n bottled pre-virus but not due for a few weeks; but with shops closing tomorrow, im gonna guess it'll either be locked in there or discarded. :(
have to phone tomorrow before the shut-down

It's just a few weeks, not the end of the world. But yes, a more definitive list of what's 'non-essential' places would be nice.

Will be cheering on the police dishing out fines to bellends that think it's ok to ignore prior guidelines :cheerleader:

that's pretty hopeful; that's only if people comply and pretty much from what I've seen online, a lot of people are still a big ol' finger-up, out there saying virus shmirus

 those 60 are 'just' my spring/summer batch

Will they close pet shops do you think? It’s not clear, also our local vet has closed due to this.

Rob :)
I’ve this concern also.
Also is it just the hour a day we are supposed to go out to walk our hounds?
Sox always has food in, but it’s not loads.
Shops where sold out today, she had no pouches to mix with her biscuits.
Yes I know small concern in the grand scheme of things, but love my dog and it’s not like she can shop or walk herself.

I hear you. Last week, I bought an extra months worth of pet food from the vet. The next day I got an email that they were closing except for emergencies.

Food for your pets is essential.

We generally keep 2 months worth of pet foods here but even I told mom we'd best go prepare for a third this week
I don’t get that luxury as usually working away, when away the mother has Sox so my house is always almost empty of everything.
Don’t get me wrong got at least a weeks worth of food for Sox, just worrying as today the shops had fuck all in.
I’ve also never stockpiled a thing as know this will affect more than me.
I can look after myself, poor Sox can’t.
If it got that bad she would have to have my meat in the freezer, which I’m sure the little madam would love.
Sorry not being lighthearted about this situation, I’m fully aware of the gravity of it.
But I’m ok, was just concerned about my little mate.

ya, we just generally have the 2 months supply in case something comes up the following month like a ridiculous hydro bill where we're tight; more preparedness than hoarding, we've always done it that way

we can always make do with stuff lying around but they rely on us so we insure theyre always first things/bill tended to every month

Can you not order her food from some doggy online shop as online shopping and delivery is still okay.

Can’t you get food online, until you mentioned such a simple method I was in panic mode.
Yes I’m not the sharpest tool sometimes lol.

Yeah i can probably get it some bedding either online or one of the supermarkets.

When i saw your post i thought right away there must be some shop that delivers dog food. I know they ar shutting businesses but some will still deliver and the delivery companies are allowed to deliver as they are essential.

Long as Sox gets fed and still gets walked.

Is @Kroffe and @Jono777 ok today? Everyone else doing o.k.? Home from work, Lower numbers since we are only doing big customers/stores but we were short 10 people on my shift alone and a tonne on the afternoon shift by the looks of it when I left.

Still getting in product and still have product and lots of water in our warehouse but we are out here and there on certain flavors.

Jono would be in bed by now as you know past his bed time and Kroffe is maybe searching for some honey :D

My car was booked in for it's MOT on Thursday, which probably isn't going to happen now. After 5th April, god knows what I will do as I live in a very rural area - I wonder if they will give us a bit of leeway, after all it is extenuating circumstances :(
They will give you an exception our centres were closed 2 months ago due to fault lifts and now this they are closed indefinitely I would post a link but don’t know how even tho @koffee told me the other night how to post a link

Have a Drs appt next week, yearly physical, but I'm bailing on it
Not being sick not really keen on sitting in a room with other patients at mo' - plus, the really dont need to be taxed if I'm overall fine

Drawback, it'll be months before I get another appt.

More concerned with mom; while we're/she's getting f*cktons of hrs and has job security, she's still in there with patients every day and she's older than half the patients

Went out and got one of them offline slotmachines today.

It was fun for a while, but now its empty and my jaw hurts from winning so much.
Wonder how long it takes to fill a glass of water if i only put in one drop at a time.

The reason alcohol is considered essential is they don't want thousands of people rushing to the hospitals with alcohol withdrawal syndrome. This is serious stuff and life threatening for many of them.
I think here, is also the liquor and beer stores are govt run and that's looooooads of tax bucks

also, noone wants the loonies bored and out n about :p
