Oh how well I remember those times. Lariam/Larium or so was the name. You had to take it 1-2 weeks before and after your trip. Vomiting and nightmares were the worst part. ..

Woolies and Coles have already implemented this policy.

Coles: From 13 March 2020, we have temporarily suspended our change-of-mind refund policy to discourage over-purchasing.

Woolies: As of 11 March 2020, certain items will not be refunded on the basis of a change of mind. These items include: toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, pain relief medication, cleaning products such as anti-bacterial wipes and sprays, feminine hygiene and incontinence products, baby wipes, pasta and pasta sauce, canned food including fish, vegetables and soup, rice, cooking oils and flour and bread mixes.

Hasn't stopped the panic buying/hoarding situation though, unfortunately.

I had something like 20 or more trips to Africa (Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Togo, Guinea, Ghana etc) where I had to take the stuff and before Malarone was introduced. After the first trip, I was always dreading to go again, just because of that prevention regime. Would not have done it if the trips were just a day or two but I was there minimum a week, often 2 and more weeks at a time.

The nightmares were so extreme sometimes, more like hallucinating. My employer was using a top UK travel clinic and they insisted it was the only viable medication. Still got my vaccination book from that time, more like a medication diary as they also noted down each Larium and later Malarone intake.

They have it so bad in Italy, there is a report on sky about the conditions in the frontline hospitals,
truly awful, people not being treated unless the are actually dying and they have more beds and ventilators than we do.
Boris needs a real kick up the arse, showing no leadership.Walked the dog yesterday and nothing has changed.
Shut the bloody pubs,its going to happen anyway, they are full of young people who know it poses no danger
to them but dont realize or care that they are going to infect the vulnerable.

High street same as always, brimming with procariat, so I felt immediately relieved.

Gym featured about 7 people, mostly bums and posers, again, putting my mind at ease.

Shopkeeper seemed fairly upbeat about the situation, but then he had just ripped me off with those prices. Pretty sure our hands had that 'awkward brush', he didn't seem too perturbed by it overall, before coughing.

Barbers was open, to my surprise. Even more surprising was that looking through the window it looked like they were the ultimate consummate professionals, with surgeon-esque gloves. Step inside and it looks like a washing up glove.

You know also how barbers try and impress you the first couple of times you go? Well fast-forward a couple of years and a pandemic and this is the result

I personally can’t fault the gov response, doing it bit by bit avoids mass panic and usher people into the lockdown idea that’s coming.
I’ve applied for nightshift warehouse work also, won’t be scaffolding For ages and the income will help.
In other more important news I’m drinking this evening, just opened a stella and have Chinese food for tea (yes Chinese) I don’t fear no virus punk!!!.

Well its about time they are focusing on that and I hope all wet markets are shut down and if anyone kills these animals should get severely punished, jailed with hefty fines.

I watched 60 minutes as they went undercover and investigated these markets. I found these markets absolutely disgusting and very sad at the same time

I know its going to be hard to track some of these markets down because they will just open somewhere else

That sir is one problem I don’t have as a collector of the water of life (whiskey) currently about 96 bottles prices ranging from £45 up to £800? when the apocalypse happens I will be going out in style.

I just had my emergency money stolen off my store card here in Canada, It was a points card and someone took all my points which were emergency money for food. Have to wait 10 business days for them to get it back and get back to me on the investigation.
