Retired healthworkers to help out

I’ve applied for a cleaning position in James cook, our hospital. Not for the cash but rather be doing something than nothing.
Massive props to any nurses or doctors whom come out of retirement to help.

There are 40,000 non-clinically trained managers in the NHS, this is one of the issues, wasting money on unnecessary layers of middle management. In japan every hospital has to be managed by physicians [according to wiki] and be run on a not for profit basis.

Been saying this for years when people moan the NHS is underfunded. Remove the leeches and wastefulness and you'd have a much better equipped system.

I just checked mine and the points are still there. But I had to re-sign into the app on my phone, which was weird. Was there a data breach? How did someone hack into your account?

Thinking data breach as their site was going crazy, got 11 of the same emails from them when I first contacted them. I tried to tell them that but they really did not seem to care to be honest. Hopefully everything will be o.k.

My co-workers mom got pulled out of retirement as she was in healthcare, Actually, quite a few people are getting pulled out of retirement lately, Not something for all of us to look forward to I am afraid.

Maybe the masses of ‘doctors and engineers’ that the guardian tells us we bring in as ‘migrants’ you know the ones with a few wives and 9 kids..
they must contribute a fortune to the cause.
A certain demographic is massively over represented in terms of unemployment amongst the community.
You mentioned leeches, they are a fine band.
Also touched on the other issues earlier.

I went to my local grocery store to see if they are back to normal with the toilet paper issue and to my surprise no toilet paper on shelves but instead they have filled the shelves with hundreds of Easter Eggs

The shops response, "You can eat all the chocolates you want but no toilet paper for after, suckers"

I’d rather have a Easter egg than toilet roll.
Have loads of toilet rolls, want to swop for a Easter egg?..

I know it's seasonal, but typical of supermarkets to have shelves brimming with Easter eggs, instead of supplies people are desperate for right now

They should be stepping up in a time of need but would rather sell us chocolate bunnies, good stuff

Well if you choose to be arsey about it.. fine.
In my campest voice ever.
Here is a pic of my ridiculously late snack, it’s a beef chilli, with crunchy salad with 2 dipping breads, 2 cheeses and a coke. (Dr p situation) is dire.
Also the queens corgi dvd I got for my daughter tomoz when I’ve got her.
Just trying to spread some joy in times of sadness and madness, no harm intended.

You're a lot of things, but few can question your excellent culinary cluster-bombs of choice

It's even got what looks like something resembling vegetables/ saladial accompaniment

Oh ffs.
Sorry I’ve read messages in the wrong order and made a arse of myself here, sorry mate.
If it’s any conciliation my chilli is to hot, struggling with it and my glass of coke isn’t Dr Pepper, nor is it cold enough.
Fag and bed, crestfallen.

It's alright, not the worst thing you've ever done. Camel kudos

Mores the pitty lol I thought the south was gonna close the bloody thing last week unfortunately yer man didn’t have the swingers

Many a day was spent in the past driving over the border care free to fill up on the cheap fuel when the Punt was still on the go.

Now it's just red diesel for my imaginary tractor.

Here's another graph that shows how similar the situation develops in every country. This shows the speed of the numbers doubling. The grey area is between 2 and 3 days. So the number of confirmed cases doubles every 2 to 3 days.

Day 0 is the first day the number hit 100 cases and from there it just rockets.

You can see the China and SK were even worse at the beginning due to the high population concentration in the main areas (Wuhan and Daegu). The similarities between Italy and Germany are striking, so I assume the UK and others will not look much different, sadly.

In general, people who die today got infected 20 to 24 days ago (that's including incubation and the sick period). Italy went on full lockdown 13 days ago I believe, so there's still 7 to 11 days until they start seeing the benefits. I'm sure you can do the math with the UK as well.

So yeah, the more you wait the more you pay the price later.

think a lot of the behaviour going on is down to the sense of entltlement that some sections of society has.
Have a look at the numbers that include the 21st Mar.

I've added the numbers for the UK from your government's publicized numbers for 21st March.

More than enough to prove that we will be in the same position as Italy before too long and with our disregard
for social distancing and lack of NHS facilites we could well keep soaring when Italy starts to flatten out.
Total lockdown is needed now otherwise we are totally F****D

Been at this pub a while ago -

Good to see everyone pulling together. That's a spirit.

It's criminal for governments to wait at this point. They have all the data, the blueprint is out there.

There is a very simple way to stop panic buying, issue ration cards that allow the user to buy up to a maximum number of items with no more 3 of any one item, ration cards would be needed othewise people would just do the rounds of the local supermarkets, very simple to enforce at the tills.

Done the same mate got vit c powder on order, seen as you seem to be clued up more than the usual sheep how do you see this playing out as far as the elites go? my own opinion is forced vaccination of everyone, of which will be some disgusting chemical concoction that you have no idea whats in it, as opposed to Vitamin C which is safe and effective, all future jobs you apply for will come with "must be vaccinated"

View attachment 125730

and if you are not, theres no job for you, and I think if you refuse to be injected with it they will threaten with arrest and charge you with attempted murder or manslaughter if you refuse to be injected with it, nobody will get benefits unless they are vaccinated etc etc, I can see them really going for it with this.

David talking sense again.

I was aware that the media had been pushing for vaccination of our kids for quite some time and while attempting to debunk the effects vax have on our kids and adults alike it was obvious that very many people refused to listen to them. So I suspected that something else was coming. Google, facebook, youtube, twitter and the like are all out to remove as much alternative narratives as they can while deplatforming where they can.
I strongly suspect that there is already a vaccine for this virus which will become available once the public scream to have it.

In AU there was a special announcement from our cranky PM that by midday tomorrow everything will be closed but Schools remain open :eek2:

Restaurants and Cafes
Pubs
Casinos
Cinemas
Place of worship
Indoor sporting venues
Nightclubs
Licensed areas inside hotels

Bottle shops, grocery stores open of course if there is anything to buy as I just heard people are panic buying alcohol now. :what:

Dunover's Sunday Shopping Report:

Well, the local Morrisons opens at 10, so I thought I'd drive there later about 10:30 as I expected the plankton to all be outside queuing but no! Pleasantly surprised, it was really quiet. Loads of fresh fruit and veg, cheap. Tons of milk, bread, cheese etc. There was hardly any fresh meat through, but we eat very little meat in this house. Dried pasta and rice sold out, but we have kilos of this already from before the crisis started. Plenty of beans and tinned stuff, except tuna which had sold out.
Freshly baked French sticks and rolls were everywhere. Bleach had sold out, but plenty of £1 500ml blue antibacterial handwash bottles limited to 2 per customer. I took one. Loads of ass-wipe too, but only their own brand 4-packs which were limited to 2 per customer (when paying one bloke on the next till had a pack removed as he had 3, but was about 80 I'd say and a little confused by it all.)
Lots of own-brand 16-packs of paracetamol (limited to 2 per customer at 45p each but that's an existing general limit to prevent lethal doses being bought in one go). Very little frozen veg and the £1 frozen pizzas had all gone but plenty of £1 microwave meals left, potato products, bake-at-home sausage rolls etc.

So pretty much got everything a normal weekly food shop entails, and straight out through the tills as it was quiet. :)

Little bit worried been ill since last Sunday . I say ill but I slept a lot and had slight dry cough at the beginning and a bit of temperature
Now the past 2 days i have been coughing up white mucus which I believe could be my healthy cells protecting my lungs . Should I be worried or very worried .

just be sensible and take the usual advice and precautions; there's still a billion bugs floating about that arent corona

even if you do...big IF - do, have the virus, the likeliest scenario is STILL you coming out the other side of it with nothing worse than all the grief of a standard cold

self-isolate, eat and sleep well, all that jazz

true , I'm not having trouble breathing or anything atm.

I'm not a doctor but I think white mucus if sort of solid is coughed up if you have allergens or asthma and i believe if you have a bacterial infection not a viral one . If you aren't having trouble breathing you sound pretty ok.

Get well soon though.
