COMPUTER CRASH AFTER DOWNLOADING C-NET FILE HELP

Hello,

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT McaFFee Virus concerning a message I KEPT GETTING ON MY COMPUTER THAT SAYS I have a virus called NYB and I CAN' find any information about it. I had downloaded a file from C-Net and it wiped my computer out and I had to restore everything. Now my CD rom doesn't work nor can I hook my printer back up. Where can I get help or support if mcafee won't answer or c net won't help? I need answers fast. All my bills, banks statements, gaming accounts and everything has been lost. What can I do? Computer completely crashed and working on recovery but I can't get cd rom back or fax machine or printer. HELP<,

What operating system are you using? Windows ME etc.

WINDOW 98, I not too literate on computers, so don't get too technical. That's probaly why I screwed something up and followed their directions. But I would appreciate if you could steer me in the right directions.
