Hi Colin,

I should employ you :D Ultimately RL finds the issues and sends the data to the operators then they are responsible for contacting the affiliate and sorting out the issue. To be fair there is a LOT of affiliate content out there that is wrong. I think we look at 5 million UK facing affiliate and social pages alone each month and it's a slow process but all we can do is report it.

Compliance Live is a different thing altogether: it looks at illegal streaming sites during footie games for ads that are thrown out temporarily. The Bundesliga and FA Prem hold operators responsible for financing these sites in that situation and they send out legal letters.

Cheers,

Simmo!

Thank you for the explanation, I was under the impression the various affiliate managers would act quickly to correct any non compliant adverts in this current climate, but obviously from what you have said, they don't. Maybe another round of penalties is due to make them get their fingers out.
I certainly agree a lot is wrong, what I posted was genuinely the first page i looked at. I googled 'top sports betting sites' or something similar, just clicked page 5 (as usually the first 2 pages are ok) and clicked one in the middle, hense my comment I could find plenty of non compliant ads within 10 minutes :)

Regarding the football, I've rarely seen gambling ads on live streams for a long time now, its not just the Prem etc that forbid them, the CAP code specifically says they cannot advertise on any illegal streams.

On that subject, have just had an audit of my site by one operator. All fine except they insisted I added the GamStop logo and link at the bottom alongside 18+, begambleaware and Gamcare that were already there. So I did that, and then they said 'Play responsibly' must be added too in simple text. So did that, now they're happy. It's good actually they take the time to go through it and identify any possible shortcomings the affiliate may not be aware of. Probably a RL customer lol.....

It's fair to say that some are faster than others :) But as I say, for the bigger operators it's a mammoth task that goes back years and on top of that, a lot of affiliates are either uncontactable or don't respond. Until the revenues are cut off LOL.

Trust me they are out there. It's better than it was though but it still exists...I see the reports!

Interestingly I've not seen the Play Responsibly requirement surface myself but some operators are stricter than others. The problem with the guidelines from regulators (in most countries) is that they are often deliberately left open to interpretation on the basis that if you create a strict rule, someone will find a loophole.
