Good Day!

As a lot of us know Discord is currently a platform that is really focused on communities, and considering that Casinomeister is an excellent and large community we wanted to try another way for the community to get together, have fun and grow. It has excellent mobile support too - so you can do all these things from the comfort of anywhere.

We have therefore created a Discord Server! The server is connected to the forums meaning that to gain full access to the features, you can connect your Casinomeister forums account to your discord account. This will enable your forum roles in Discord - Discord will also have the notifications for news, announcements, warnings and offers that we provide on the forums so you can know when they happen.

To join our channel here is the invite!

You can also connect your forum account to Discord here: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/account/connected-accounts/

I will be adding more info here about the server and how to get the most out of your time there, there are some fun features for you to get your hands on ;-)

What is Discord?
If you have no idea what I am on about and want to find out more info about what Discord is you can find all you need to know on their homepage here:

Globalisation's in full swing I see, with all these kerr-azy ways to communicate now. But much like Farcebook and Instasham, you won't find me twitting on these platforms anytime soon!

Unless there's 'Just Chatting' hot tub streams of course

I'm going wrinkly waiting for you!

Are we going to get slot streams on it?

I know somebody with a hat that may be interested
Probably not - this is obviously down to Casinomeister. The words streaming and slots are very controversial when used together in a sentence.

There is the ability to connect socially though, That includes all the other discord benefits of voice comms, video calls, screen sharing etc. Which will please the globalisation gods because they're all watching you... in your hot tubs... I'm just glad I waxed.

Now I really shouldn't do this, bring a thread back from the dead as it were, but I am genuinely interested as to who has heard of Discord and who uses it.

Being nearer my 60's than my 20's, it is something I am starting to get to grips with and there is a learning curve, albeit it is small. We have this Discord Community set up for Casinomeister, a widget displaying it can be seen on the right side of the forum index.

For those of you that use Discord already, how popular is it in your opinion and would a Casinomeister Discord channel be of interest to you? For those like me that are new to Discord, is this something of interest?

Well as you know - I am a big discord user. Currently in about 50 servers, mostly related to Indie Games and Coding and some language learning. It's simply a great platform for communities.

I can spot a Discord shill when I see one 🫣

Although I must agree with Dave, while there was also a learning curve for me, it seems pretty easy to get to grips with. I'm also curious who else uses it here and whether it's something the CM community would be interested in!

About Discord vs Forum, well first thing we could get is a platform where to Schedule Live events like webcasts, Interviews with IGaming Reps, Online Casino Reps,.... just some different features we can't get in th forum.

I had a gander at Discord, but on the surface, it looks a little too much like Groups, PMs, a forum & chat all conjoining to make a glorified MSN Messenger, could be wrong :p

I see that it started as a video game lobby, where players could regale their gameplay.

"GG bro"

"Yeah, GG. That move you pulled was sick"

Mind you, it soon became the preserve of disgruntled Skype users, and has branched out to incorporate a lot of its features 🤷‍♂️

Word on the street's that Discord's slowly becoming worse, with features that made it unique (and didn't need changing) needlessly being axed?

With that established, it looks like another communal hub that's soon to be integrated into the ESG smegma. So I think I'll live, for now :D

Think 40 communities is my last count - all web3/crypto/NFT projects.

Discord is big for the young'uns, hence why I am Discord proficient because of my young, cool and hip demeanour.

As a community engagement tool, it can be excellent. There are some communities I check in on every day because of what they have going on.

As with any community, it's the members that make it what it is.
