So it would seem as if a few local casinos are slowly converting to a coinless, ticketless system.
So far there not forcing everyone to go to that system as it is in "testing" phase.
I so far like for the fact, that instead of having ticket jams, or sometimes waiting for ticket paper to be replaced. I just pop my players card in, tell it how much I want to transfer to the machine. It does it for me without having to worry about a crumpled or unreadable bill going into the machine. Then I'm ready to play. When I want to cash out, I just tell my players card that I want to cash out. It takes money from the machine and puts it on my card.
Now my only 2 issues with the system thus far.
1) People are casinos tend to get angry, and don't always treat the card readers with very much care, by jamming there cards into the card reader. Basically eventually either breaking them, loosening a cable, or something along those lines. So at times getting my card to read in the reader is a PITA.
2) Apparently they haven't "perfected" the system totally yet. Mainly because I can only transfer whole dollars to the machine, versus dollars and cents. So therefore if I have $20.25 on my card. Yet I want to play with the full amount, I can't because it'll only let me transfer the $20.00. Yet it will gladly take the cents off of the machine when I request a cash out.
Also making a deposit seems fairly simple.
I can do it one of 3 ways.
1) I can either make a cash deposit at the slot machine I want to play at. Then request a withdrawal back to my card.
2) I can go up to a kiosk insert my card, then tell it I want to make a cash deposit. Then it'll put the funds on my card for me.
3) I can go the cashier, give them cash, a check, or a credit/debit card. Then ask them to put the funds on my card.
Then withdrawing doesn't seem overly complicated either.
1) You can go the cashier, put in your PIN number. Then request the funds be taken off of your card for cash, or check if you have a large sum on there.
2) You can go to a kiosk, put in your card and pin number. Then request a pay out in cash that way as well.
I guess this system seems to work alright for those who don't seem bothered by having a players card, or at the bare minimum a cash card. Yet I still get the feeling for those who think the players card system is jinxed anyways. Like it sets how the machine plays and all. I can't seem some folks taking too well to this system.
