Hi,

I recently registered at city club casino in US$, however being from Britain I just wondered if I should have infact signed up in GBP? (note i have yet to deposit)

I haven't been able to speak to livechat yet, will try to soon.. I just wondered if any of you had experience here with this sort of issue?

Cheers

Call support and have them change it before you deposit and win. They will confiscate your winnings and deposit for violating their terms and conditions on depositing in the currency of your country

Cool, I thought as much! Don't wanna win big and have it all taken back.

Is this from past experience, or just erring on the side of caution? :)

You will find a ton of posts on the forum of people who have had this happen to.On the terms and conditions, it is usually one the last terms stated, so many people look over it. Please don't make that mistake, Get it fixed.

Mark

Yeah I have emailed them to get them to change it :)
didn't see any term like that but I do agree that if I win big they will confiscate my money if its on the wrong currency!

Good move Rob! Pro-active is the best way to go... How hard is it to communicate? Though I didn't see any term there about currencies either, Mark's advice was spot on.

My three rules for casinos:

  1. Communicate
  2. Communicate
  3. Communicate

Well, the high profile this issue has had recently seems to have saved it's first unwitting victim BEFORE the first deposit. Now casinos are reaping the mistrust they have shown by the mass confiscation of winnings. This player at least will NOT be depositing straight away, and by having to make sure will also be able to get a feel as to how good, or bad, the customer service is likely to be in the longer term. Generally, casinos will see a greater interval between players showing interest, and making their first deposit. If this delay impacts on their cashflow, the industry only has itself to blame for this increasing player paranoia. Such terms often ARE buried in the small print. It takes time to do the research to dig them out, and read all the points with understanding.

Just make sure that after this dilligence about currency, you don't blunder into a bonus related trap term, such as playing an excluded game;)

Well their CS has been a bit quiet for the past 4 hours, must be night time wherever they are ;)

And I'm going for the 400% slots offer. I just wish it was MG, I miss Thor :(

Don't know what they've done since but while I look, here's something:
Fall From Grace Award 2006 III
Here we have a serious nose dive followed by a crash 'n burn. City Club Casino had been listed at Casinomeister for a few years without incident, but I guess someone fell asleep at the wheel. A player was dissatisfied by City Club Casino's games (powered by Playtech) and simply wanted his money back. He tried to contact support, but they replied telling him he needed to play through his deposit x amount of times. Since this was a Casinomeister "Accredited" casino, I felt that this was unnecessary and asked them to simply give the player his money back - a total of $99. He didn't want his winnings - he just wanted his deposit.

I received the same lame response twice telling me there was nothing that they could do, so I was pretty much fed up. I paid the player $99 out of my own pocket, and dropped the casino off of the "Accredited" list.

Le coup de grce: when I removed the casino from Casinomeister, they came back to Casinomeister's forum and thanked me for removing them and called all the members "Bonus Abusers":

...Taking us off the "recommended casinos list" is actually appreciated. We no longer want to appear there, since the players referred from casinomeister's website are mainly bonus seekers and only wish to take advantage of the casino and of our loyalty...

This comment received a warm response from our members - not. The funny thing is, not more than a week after this happened, their affiliate manager contacted me wondering how he could advertise City Club casino at Casinomeister.

I love it when that happens.

I don't see them on the accredited list today.

Sorry so slow. But it ain't my job to do due diligence. Let us know how it turns out okay?

Yeah saw that mentioned, but I thought that might have been an exception because he wanted to withdraw his money straight away (something casinos are not too keen on), as opposed to them being properly rouge or whatever.

And all that about being greatful for being taken of the accredited list, I'm sure the manager was simply throwing his toys out of the pram ;)

erm wtf

I have no idea how they managed to get to that conclusion :O

I think I have played at only 1 other playtech casino (golden palace) :eek2:
And I'm certainly not going to be abusing the bonus, going to blow it all on slots :p

You should not, as this shoud be taken as a warning that the games will begin, and I don't mean the slots.
If they believe you are a "bonus abuser", they are either not going to give you the bonus, or they will confiscate your winnings should you win, and keep your money should you lose.
Since you only played at ONE other Playtech, you know for sure who grassed you up to Playtech, and Golden Palace are rogued.
They may even let you play in dollars, and then confiscate winnings due to you using the "wrong currency".

Maybe I am on the Playtech blacklist too, I have won at nearly every Playtech casino I have tried (not that many), and taken the bonus at each.
Playtech also seem to have the whole of the UK on their blacklist, so it may just be your location that got this response.

My last deposit at Windows was 50, and I got a mere 5 phantom bonus, and was advised to check the terms, so I did, and was horrified - I had to wager 1350 for this 5 PHANTOM bonus on a 50 deposit:what:

Well, it was a case of up yours Windows, and rule Britania, as I managed to both meet WR and cash out 800:D:p

If they are having such bad terms for existing players, they have just lost a customer after going to all that effort to persuade me to try their "new software" (they were RTG, but went to Playtech when Wager Junction bought them out).

There are accredited playtech casinos here that may well offer you both a GBP account AND a slots bonus, but ask about your blacklist status first, and see what they say.

Bah
I wanted a good playtech casino at which to play slots, obviously this aint going to be the one!

Oh well. Thanks for your advice, and I will try to get CS to tell me what the problem is!

The problem is you are from UK or you already smashed GP. PM Spearmaster

Will that get me anwaywhere, I dont want to cause agro to Spearmaster or the casino. Cheers for your help :)

Why not? These guys are here to help. Forget the past, as far as I know, spear can affect change in your account at playtech (im a fool) if you aren't on the 'blacklist'. And if you are, he can (we should hope) get you in touch with someone who can tell you whether you are or aren't. And one would hope (dreamer) that your voice will be heard and you don't have to go through time as a freakin leper (unless you are) but either way, PING him. Fair is fair. He'll tell you whether I'm full of cack on this issue or not.

Haha okay man thanks! I'm probably a bit too drunk to be gambling or sorting stuff like this out now, so I will do it in the morning.
Wish me luck :)!

What is this beef Playtech have with the UK:confused: Are we all assumed to be pro Fruitie players, not to be trusted not to find all the flaws in their "random" games?

I certainly don't recall us ever having a TV program like the Danes had, and nor are we as heavily into online casinos as Americans and Canadians were before they got the boot.

If there is any software that should be sh1t scared of ex fruitie players, it is those that use cycles, rather than truly random slots.

I fail to see how play at only one other Playtech casino can supply enough data to detect a "pattern of bonus abuse", or a "negative online gambling history". One might presume that it is merely enough to WIN at another Playtech to get on the blacklist, whether play was "abusive" or not.
