Resolved Check w/d @ Rival Casinos - What gives?

I talked with Live Chat last night, and they confirmed that my withdrawal via check was sent out on Jan 4th - The day after my documents were approved.

Ok, well, I get my check today. Great, right? Sure, if you don't look at the postmark of Jan 11th. :rolleyes:

I'm not going to name and shame, because all Rival payouts are processed by Rival themselves, right? From somewhere off a dirt road....:rolleyes:

1: Is this normal practice for Rival payouts via check?
2: Has anyone else ran into this same situation?

Even the date on the check is marked Jan. 6th!!!

So, not only did they hold on to the money for 2 days after they said it was sent out, they waited an additional 5 days (7 in total) to send it out. :mad:

Timeline:

Docs approved = Jan 3rd
Confirmation of check being sent out (via the Cashier in the casino, E-mail, and live chat) = Jan 4th
Date on check = Jan 6th
Date of postmark = Jan 11th

Never knew you could w/d via check at Rival - the only options I've ever seen were QT and EWX.

But seriously - holding onto a check for ANY length of time is inexcusable - once they are printed, it should be dropped in the mail THAT DAY - no ifs, ands or buts about it.

FWIW: Jan. 6th, the date that's on the check, was a Wednesday; so there's absolutely no reason that it shouldn't have been sent either that day or the next, if it was after hours.


edit: Hmmm, I think I know why.....does Rival only mail out checks on a Monday? :rolleyes:
 
Ah maybe they wanted to send the check on the 4th but suddenly remembered their policy of taking 5 working days for processing. As the 9th was a Saturday, they had to send it on the 11th. So actually they believe they paid you within their time-frame.

The live chat people at Rival know absolutely nothing other than flushing withdrawals and informing you of outstanding wagering requirements.

Processing time or not, these are estimates, not written in stone.....besides, as far as I'm concerned, the processing time was over the day they emailed me and let me know the check was (supposedly) on its way.

No biggie, I'm just glad they're not like other operations where you're stuck wondering if you'll get paid. Next time, I know better, and will use QT to w/d..:)
 
I don't know, being in the US myself, what I pay into QuickTender always felt like a bargain compared with all the BS and aggravation I ever got dealing with check WD's. Just an observation.

Yep....next time I know better :)

One advantage of a check is that you don't have to pay the $30 QT fee in addition to whatever your bank charges for receiving a wire xfer..

To be fair, I'm posting an update..

I discussed my issue with Vegas Regal's rep on here (NicolasJohnson), and he let me know what happened, and I feel that that the slow check pays are indeed out of VR's control.

Nicolas informed me that not only are they going to tell the CSR's not tell players that the checks were sent out on the date they see in the player's history, but they are also going to look into seeing if the whole process can be sped up to conform to their 5 business day payment policy (it took 8 business days for me to receive a check.)

He also said that if VR cannot get checks to players any faster than they are now, then they will update their website with a more realistic time frame of when players can expect to get their check.

FTR, I was complaining about the fact that I was told one thing, and come to find out it appeared to be a blatant lie from the casino in question.

I'm sure everyone would be pi$$ed off if they were told that their check was mailed on such and such a date, but found out that they appeared to hold on to the check for a number of days before even sending it out.

That's what this thread was about, nothing more. It has nothing to do about the time it took. It's about the apparent lies that were told.

But, if you would have actually read my post, you would understand that. :rolleyes:

I have no more to say on this subject. I've asked Max to close this thread, and he said that once he has time (packing for London), he'll work on it.
