Casinos closing and No US players

Question ...

I contacted Spin Palace. I was told U.S. players accounts from specific states, have been closed.

Why just certain states?

I have just been notified that my Spin Palace account has been closed due to the recent legislation. I am so depressed and angry.

Just for clarification, this is what's happening with Spin palace and other Palace (fairground) properties:

As of this afternoon none of our properties will be taking bets from players in the following states Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisonsin. We will continue to allow players to play from the remaining states .

These, I'm guessing from the presence of Louisiana and Washington, are the States which legislate locally to make online gambling illegal.

I really would like to know about the following: Trident Group, Riverbelle Entertainment and Vegas Partner Lounge. Anyone with confirmed info please advise. Thank you.

I think it's better to say that until they announce their intentions publically it would only be speculation Cynthia.

I was told in a phone call that Belle Rock intend running as before - until they are otherwise forced I guess, but this was only word-of-mouth, albeit from someone who should know. ReferBack (Belle Rock affiliates group) also rang me to discuss running a US-facing Slotjunkies tournament in November on River Belle too, so read into that what you will.

I would add what I said before that there is a theme here that everyone is overlooking. Everyone, without exception that I can see, who has stated that they will be pulling US players are either A) a big UK high-street brand and/or B) publically listed. That is the trend here and it's an obvious one because of Stock Market involvement.

There is little reason for companies outside the Public Listing arena to worry or make decisions/statements right away as they are not seeing $1billion wiped off their share value every day

This is true - no bonus, but that might be a good thing since you have no worries about wagering requirements. I play there often - mostly without the bonus, since I find it constricts my playing style.

Which playing style would that be? The "I hate money" playing style?

Choices are getting extremely limited for US players. However, I sense that there will be some shady casinos trying to take advantage of the situation.
Dont let your gambling impulses get the better of you and refrain from depositing at unknown/roguish casinos even if they offer huge bonuses. They could take your money and close shop any time. Be wary!

Aww but come on, please? It's a 16,000% bonus on a $100 deposit. ;)

Please note: you must wager a total of 15 times the sum of your deposit and bonus. Certain games count different percentages towards the wagering requirement, as follows:

Keno and 3-reel slots count 20%
Video slots count 5%
All forms of video poker, baccarat, roulette and other table games count 1%
All forms of blackjack count 0.05%

Choices are getting extremely limited for US players.
I wouldn't say that. Microgaming, Playtech, and RTG as a whole have done little against US players. The Grand Prive group has been offering (me) 1-2 quality bonuses per day since the bill was passed in the Senate, a higher rate than they ever have offered me before. They may be trying to retain players within the uncertainty. They are not trying to collect money before blocking US players from their funds, as cashouts have been 24-48 hours on all deposits.

I agree. I've seen little action from my favorite places to play, except for Intercasino.

Whoa. Confusion reigns. I think California and New Jersey also explicitly outlaw internet gambling.

The prvately held companies (such as Microgaming) would be under less pressure than the publically traded companies to make immediate announcments-- a publically traded company that says nothing could damage its stock value unnecessarily, which will have effects upon its credit rating and other financial connections.

Speculation that now I-gaming companies are deals ready to be bought by US land operators is premature, I think: some land operators already burnt their fingers trying to make money online (Harrahs)and there have always been a few software providers who avoided taking US bets available.

Internet gambling companies are looking at a triple whammy right now: (1) their executives being picked up on US soil for charges in Louisiana (and who knows what other states), (2)who knows what or when the banks will do something that messes up the movement of money and (3) any advertising expenditures in the US or targeting US players may be wasted as the ads are blocked and no refunds given.

Putting a freeze on US players makes sense. Conversely, US players should put a hold on their gambling as well, and going over your balances preparing for making withdrawals might not be a bad idea.

I hope you are right. Whilst there should be no problems with the reputable ones, it is highly possible that there will be those who will be unable to sustain their business without a stable US base and will go all out to cap a few buck before they close down. Just be wary.

My State is not on the list; I'm locked out of Spin Palace regardless.

Anyone else in my shoes?

One of things I find interesting about this is prior to the legislation passing all the articles I read about it said it would mostly affect sportsbooks only and was not applicable to online casinos. Now that it has passed many casinos have stopped taking US players but the sportsbooks are operating business as usual.

This may be a somewhat hypothetical question right now..but may very well come into play. Let's say Bush strikes out Frist's provision re: online gambling. What recourse would casinos such as Intercasino that have decided to lock out U.S. player's accounts proactively take?

We apologize for any inconvenience and express our sincere thanks for your continued support.

Yours truly,

Ryan Hartley
Casino Manager

It's been a good run and enjoyed playing in your casino and poker room. You've got to be the most forward looking and user friendly casino in cyber space. I always felt that I could trust Intercasino, the integrity of their software, and the integrity of their management. I don't think any other online casino can hold a candle to Ryan Hartley and his Intercasino in terms of trust and popularity. In my opinion they were the best. Bravo Intercasino!

Thank you very much for your support :) it's always reassuring to know that we are valued by our players and I am ever optimistic that the USA will reverse this legislation. Your voice counts!

Add Bet365 to the list...

I just chatted with support at Bet365, and this is what I was told.

"Support rep: I can confirm that as of today bet365 Casino and Poker will no longer be available to US customers.

All Casino and Poker accounts belonging to customers from the US will be locked at some point during today.

You may wish to contact Playtech to ascertain if this applies to all their online casinos."

Thanks, man! I JUST got online with support and processed my withdrawal while confirming this.

Goddammit this pisses me off! Aren't any of these cowards going to stand and fight? The bill isn't even law yet, let alone had regulations enforcing it put into effect and all these ninnies are running for the hills, locking out U.S. customers from all the best casinos!

Bet365 run a sportsbook. Its logical that they should take this stance right now. Note how all the casinos closing are PLC and/or answerable to a PLC (Cryptologic) and/or running sportsbooks :)
