Feedback Casinomeister's open door policy

Thanks peeps. I am getting some helpful responses here.

As for the report a post thingy, it is used way less often than some of you are thinking. Looking at this month's reported posts, I think a number of you probably believe there are more problems than what there really is..

This month Oct. (which is nearly over) - 23 reported posts.

6 = spam
7 = misc (posted in wrong forum, heads up about a rep needing to reply, testing something that may have been broken - other innocuous posts)
10 = member complaints about someone's posting style or behavior, troll posts - whatever.

So in perspective the reporting feature is used more for taking care of the forum - members assisting us - it is not used primarily to complain about joe blow (unless he's a spammer).

For a forum this size and with this much activity - that is saying a lot.

Lol the figures might be a bit wrong this month as Ben was banned the first 2 weeks and has been on good behaviour since coming back

Love to see how many reports were on one of his bad months.:eek2:

Reported for assuming Ben gets alot of reports.

Actually the political threads on here are quite civil compared to other places, which is why I engage in discussion here rather than somewhere else.

I agree there's some unnecessary personal digs going on and I sometimes partake in that, I'd like to apologise if anyone has felt personally attacked and hurt by it and will try to keep on topic. But I think in general it has been alright lately.

Well i was devastated and an emotional wreck by your comments.

But apology accepted.

God I am such a laid back amenable chick usually but you come across as arrogant, self righteous, demeaning or even downright crass and my hackles come up - don't say you were not warned :p

How many were for me?

How many were for me?
All of them lol. But for me it's getting harder and harder to participate in anything anymore, I haven't done a single thing to anybody that I wasn't pmed about personally, I haven't taken any advantages of anything, but now when I enter a topic recently I seem to get targeted for some sort of abuse or trolling behaviour. Yeah I won some prizes over the time I have been here, that's what comps are for winning or loosing taking part but to be accused of manipulating or cheating them being called names is a bit too far to put up with. It really gets annoying and a lot of you know that I tend to bite when poked hard enough. Perhaps the mods could actually work on stuff like this aswell meaning the targeting off members by other members and say to them in a pm (prove it).

To whom it may concern: I'm well aware that some of the posts here identify me specifically as part of the problem -- in particular @colinsunderland and @geordiecolin -- often based on specific incidents that i've precipitated.

Please know that I'm happy to address those issues, individually would probably be best, but out of respect to Bryan's original topic and the importance of keeping that from being derailed I don't think this is the time and maybe not the place.

Assuming the relevant parties aren't going anywhere all I feel comfortable saying here now is "we'll get to it".
I am more than happy to have drawn a line under recent events Max. I strongly believe that CM should have a policy of addressing the post and not the poster when it comes to inflammatory comments.
I don't care either way about the more contentious threads being shut down

A few questions.
Does anybody have an issue with introducing a policy of addressing the post and not the poster?
If so why?
That includes the moderators opinions

You once posted without a GIF attached. Suffice to say, I reported.
I deserved it.
But the anti-gif mafia has been gunning for me a long time.
They even went so far as to reduce the size-limits on gifs, thats blocking my freedoom of speech.
The worst part is that this thing is much bigger than i first thought, it goes all the way to the top.

Luckily im much too clever to get caught.
You cant catch what you cant see.

Totally agree.

Standards are slipping and this is the most serious thing I’ve seen on here, Not sure what bans are and reports etc...

I’m a changed man, but can’t have this behaviour... I’ll get into Bryan about this after work tomorrow as a matter of urgency.

If the poster is the problem then addressing the post is missing the point.
For most people though it's a perfectly respectable approach and what we'd normally do.
