casinomeister homepage hacked ???

Interesting... I have a feeling that you're right.

I checked it out and it was a green colored and well... I'll just post a screenshot of it here.

It's kinda interesting. I guess people just envy sites which are good. Oh well... what can we do?

Tsk tsk tsk.

Ps. Bryan, you should check on the security of the site. Maybe upgrade the security?

Gotcha!

Thanks for the call webcaz! I was outside trimming the hedge when the phone rang. :D

I'll have my web guys analyze the page and server. They are probably the best in the business. I'll also be giving my lawyer a heads up as well because these things I don't take lightly. Someone is in for some shit.

This will learn every webmaster a lesson. Keep your scripts updated.

There was an announcement made on the 7th that a certain script was found to have a security hole (it was in the "Casinomeister Auction" that is currently offliine). I never received the warning, and "wham" yesterday a hacker was able to access the site and replace the homepage.

I shut the site down and had it removed from the server, and I am now in the process of uploading the entire site (nice clean files from my harddrive). I don't want to have any hidden trojans or worms stashed any place.

All databases went untouched since they are located elsewhere. That's a good thing :D

The bad thing is that it's a beautiful day outside, and I'm having to work :(

I hope you get 'em Bryan.

Missed my daily CM fix yesterday.

Still, meant I was able to make a bit more money in casinos yesterday, every cloud has a silver lining! :)

*cough* Damian *cough*
Since he won't accept being banned, he's the perfect suspect.

Geez!!!!! what a fate! :eek2:

The sites that were hit are totally unrelated except for auctions. Looks like someone just went around looking for places with that particular security problem.

The banners aren't displaying yet...

You've got to earn your corn sometime CM.

This is handy.
It shows everything that changes in the registry.

Welcome back btw.

One thing at a time :D

I still have plenty of files to upload - the webcasts are going to take probably all night.

I feel that this was probably a random act of maliciousness instead of being directly targeted. Nothing was damaged except the main index page which was reloaded. If it were an attack probably the whole site would have gone missing (it's backed up daily by the way).

I don't think any of the anti-Casinomeister crowd would try to pull such a stunt; hiring someone or doing it personally. I know enough people in this industry and people talk. They would be found out - and then "busted" for real. And Damian already emailed me to let me know on "scout's honor" that he had nothing to do with this. :D

Any chance when uploading the older archive webcasts you can put up the correct urls? - As the ones from Ice 2004 and before did not load :)
I reprimanded Vortran for not doing that a couple of weeks ago. Looks like I'll have to open a can of robotic "whoop-ass" on him.

Vortran earned his pay today and loaded up the missing webcasts. Believe it or not, there are 26 more shows to go - dating back to July 2001. It's on Vortran's to do list.

So knock yourself out...

And if any of you were wondering why Vortran didn't prevent the hack, listen to this week's webcast and find out why. :D
