I am a mod/tester at onlineplayersunion and this is what happened to me at casinoheat.
Sorry about the language, but I took the $20 you all so graciously gave, and deposited it in casinoheat this morning. Played it off and went back this evening to playoff the bonus or %back, whichever it was that would have been added and found that casinoheat and rubydragon are closed.

I called them (1-800-851-9247) and asked if this were a permanent closure and was told that yes it is. I said that I had deposited in good faith and that there was no prior warning that the casino was closing, and that I feel as though in a way I have been cheated and asked about my bonus or %back that I should have gotten and was told that they were locked out of the data base and could do nothing about it at this time, maybe tomorrow.

He also told me that they were just bought out by another company today. Well thats not my problem, its theirs. I told him I want my $20 back. And again he reminded me that they are locked out of the data base.

I may be wrong for wanting my money back, but had I won, what would have happened to those winnings. Would the new owners honor that and will they honor the bonuses and %backs due players that have deposited today?

Okay I am done ranting for now, but I intend to call them tomorrow. I want my cash back because somehow this just seems a little fishy to me. What do you all think. Give me some feed back please. Thanks you all. THere was no email forewarning of an impending closure of casinoheat or ruby dragon. Nothing at all, had there been I would not have deposited there until everything had been settled and I feel i have been cheated. I wasted that money that i deposited there and now cannot get my bonus or %back.

Anyway thats what happened. Now I would appreciate any and all help I can get. And by the way I called them back today and they said there was nothing they could do and that I should email the casino people and when I asked for an email addy the man told me i would have to use montana emails to email them and that i could find the email addy at one of the message boards.

Instead of getting all in a huff just wait to see what happens. When you go to www.casinoheat.com you are greeted with the following message:

Notice to Customers of Casino Heat and Ruby Dragon
Please note that as of Wednesday, March 16, 2005, Casino Heat and Ruby Dragon Casino have been closed.

As stated in the casino lobbies, players with active balances in each of these operations will be contacted and paid within the next 14 days.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause but this closure was necessary. We ask your patience while the casino is transitioned to the authority that handles casino liquidations.

If I understand correctly you lost all of your deposit? What I don't understand is why you are upset. If you had made a deposit and won, I am sure that you would be taken care of as their message states. We had an airline here in Canada called JetsGo file for bankruptcy a few days ago without any notice, in fact they were selling tickets the day before and then were closed the next day leaving thousands of travelers stranded and hundreds out of work. My point is that these things happen, and these companies don't always explain to their customers what is going on beforehand but at least the casino does have an explanation on their site to reassure players that they will be taken care of.

Here is some feedback as you requested!

If losing 20 dollars got your feathers ruffled this much, then you'd better just play the online casinos in free mode or your gonna have a heart attack.

A different view...

Tim5ny, I don't think you get what the original poster is pissed about. I doubt it's the loss of $20. It is the fact that this casino 'closed' the same day a deposit was accepted, and NOT being told that they were 'going out of business' that SAME DAY.

It was a sleazy, unethical thing for the casino to do, IMO. Some of the other RTG casinos at least posted an announcement a week or so PRIOR to closing.

Blackjack21, How would YOU have felt if you deposited, played, maybe won some money, and found out when you went back to the casino that they had 'closed down'? I truly doubt you would have been real pleased. I doubt anyone would have.

This seems to be a common occurance recently with RTG casinos. Some have handled it a lot more professionally than others. This was NOT done in a very professional manner.

RTG continues to have problems with many of it's licensees for FOUR YEARS now. The time for 'getting it right' has long since past. There are about 5 RTG casinos that are 'respectable'. The rest SHOULD all go out of business.

BTW this complaint was posted at WOL yesterday, and Damian Dunlap noted that it was one of his staff that was involved.

I have to agree with Unicorn - this was an extraordinarily fast closure, although they do promise players that they will contact them within 14 days regarding clearing their accounts.

QUOTE As stated in the casino lobbies, players with active balances in each of these operations will be contacted and paid within the next 14 days. UNQUOTE

Not sure what their definition of "active balances" is, though. Montana might find itself busy again if they don't come through on that promise.

Royal's lifespan was quite long in online casino terms, they've been around for several years. It will be interesting to see if they pop up again with, say Playtech software.

I've asked for more detail on this, but RTG is not answering. Perhaps they're too busy processing all the closures and transfers we've been seeing lately!!

when i went back.........

When I went back to the casino to finish playing the bonus or %back, there was nothing there except a scrolling marquee simply stating that casinoheat and ruby dragon casinos are now closed. I went back 3 more times and the same message was there. And finally when I went back, the other message was there, but it should have been there as soon as they closed. And like they stated it wasnt the money, it was the fact that it seemed so fly-by-night the way they closed up shop with no prior warning, and no explanation at the time of closure, just a blank casino with a scrolling marquee.

I sure hope the Canadian govt. took some sort of action against the airline for doing this to its customers. I can't imagine that they woke up one morning and just went bankrupt for the hell of it.

Same goes for the casino. There is no way they made the decision to close and a few hours shut down their site. No way, no how.....this was a business decision made by somebody, somewhere for whatever reason. The fact that they took peoples money, knowing DAMN well they were shutting down, is completely unacceptable.

The government said they are not getting involved, and of course the company knew what they were doing way ahead of the closure. But it happened and there is not much that can be done. In the case of the casino, there is even less that can be done since this type of business is not regulated. I am in no way sticking up for the casino but it really is not worth getting excited about because as I said, there is nothing that can be done about it. Players are at the mercy of the casino, but at least they are stating that players will be paid in time. They could just shut down with no explanation, and like in the case of the airline here, say oh well to the customers that have paid. Thousands were stranded, expecially in the Dominican since they were the only charter that was flying into Punta Cana. This left hundreds of Canadian travelers with no choice but to extend their vacations, at their own cost until they could get a flight with one of the carriers that fly in for the package vacations. It is a mess.
