I have continued to follow members posts on the forum even though I have quit gambling and have seen several complaints of players accounts being locked and winnings confiscated after a withdrawal has been initiated.

My question is, why is there not a multiple account filter set up that would block multiple accounts from the same IP address or something? This should be initiated at the time of registering, not when a player wins and requests a withdrawal. A deposit should not get to the point of acceptance, playing, winning and withdrawing before the door is slammed shut on the player.

I know when I played over the 9+ years, I would uninstall many casinos and later re-install, some I would forget that I had ever created an account. Some casinos when you download, a pop up comes up that asks if you want to create an account. I think this causes many players to think or assume they never had an account at the casino and proceede to register again. The system allows the new registration in many casinos, some it doesn't, some will pop in a notification that the email address already exists.

I also know that if a player clicks on "no", that you don't want to create an account the box dissapears and your login name will be in the login box minus the password. But does everyone think to check this first?

Also if it's a casino that you haven't played at for a few years the login name or number may not appear, again, leaving the player thinking they've never played there before.

So why don't casinos add a feature that blocks multiple accounts in the first place since the login info recognizes your IP address and automatically enters your login name or number.

I mean for crying out loud, how hard would it be? It would save a lot of people a lot of unnecessary frustration.

Exactly. Some poker sites have a similar thing set up so you can't create multiple accounts.

Personally, I think casinos do it so they can find a reason not to pay players.

I too have quit gambling online, mainly because it's hard to trust casinos any more.

Hiya: Yes it would. And it would cost the casino a lot of money. If you think casino's love system players, i can guarentee you they love players with multiple accounts more. This is the Ace in the hole, that they can use at any time, to do what ever they want to do. And not matter how Bad it is, or how Evil, or low handed, "It is the Players fault".

How does the casino know the difference between a multiple account player, "by choice", and a multiple account player, "by accident"? The answer: They don't know, and, THEY DON'T WANT TO KNOW". As long as you are Losing money, go ahead and play with multiple accts:= more profit to casino.
Player Wins: Now, lets look to see you you took a bonus, had multiple accounts, or broke any T&Cs..........................

It is hard to do the right thing, when doing the right thing cost you profit. I have fogotten more passwords/accounts, than i actually have now......

It can also bite them in the ass.

A player can easily do a charge back with their card if a casino wants to fuck with a player (pardon the language, but that's what they do. The highest level of screwing you over)

A simple email to the bank telling them the situation on how their money was confiscated, and the bank will, I believe its safe to say 99% of the time will give the player back his money. Plus, the bank will know what that fake billing site is now used for.

A bank won't care what the casino claims is in their terms and conditions.

Some casino's have this in place

Some casino's do automatically input your old username and PW. Casino classic is one example of a casino that does this. It's my understanding if you leave an account dormant for 6 month's you'll be notified by e-mail and then the account closed. It should be in T/C if the account is older than that I think it's only fair to say the player isn't responsible for having 2 accounts. It's right there in B/W the account should have been closed.

I agree, I think it is used as a fall back for the casino when convenient and to me this is bad business of underhanded tactics.
I have had many a dormant account for more than 6 months and have never had any of them closed with the exception of a couple of MG's.
May have happened with others I used to play at that packed up and left the US market, but I don't know as I never received notification from them either. So you can't rely on them giving notice an account has been closed due to non activity.

I think this should be something that should be added to the Accredited rules for casinos, that they should have a multiple player account block, to be accredited.

And I hear you on the trust thing, the day I lost total trust to play online, was the day I finally quit.

However from what I have been reading regarding chargebacks, that's one thing a player doesn't want to do as you can be black balled from all casinos, so this is never a good solution.

p.s. please abrreviate the colorful language, I am a delicate flower and it will make me faint, thank you.

haha, I didn't even realize it doesn't censor certain words

Hey, some forums are really anal about what you can say.

The responsibility should lie on both the player and the casino. No one in their right mind that wants to play honestly should make two or three accounts in any casino. Then it should be up to the casino to say hey you cannot create another account. Good-Bye. See you cannot "accidentally" create another account. If you misplaced your password then you request one from the casino..Love2winalot do you request your password if you forget? I know I do..

I recall one casino that I had downloaded, went to claim the welcome bonus but couldn't get it to work, it was an MG casino. I called the casino and spoke with a CS person about it and during the course of the conversation he had found I had another account. I was taken back as I didn't recall ever having opened an account with them. He stated that I had, it was around 2007, but the account was never used. I still never recalled having opened it, so I asked if he could just close the original account and he did and I was able to play with my new second account.

I add this because when there are so many casinos over a long period of time, some may or do get totally forgotten and yes the player and the casino should make sure there is no hitch, such as this to assure continued business between the casino and it's customers.

A player should definately make sure they have only one account before proceeding, but it also wouldn't hurt for a casino to have the ability to create more than one account eliminated.

OMG I hope your kidding! I have sent you a pm or 2 and probably used curse words (I'm a bad girl :eek2: )

See you cannot "accidentally" create another account. If you misplaced your password then you request one from the casino..

Sure you can. What if someone started gambling say 3 years ago, then got a new computer last week, forgot they created an account with "abc casino" 3 years ago and creates an account?

When we got our computer a few months back, I was supposed to be on that one, but we had to put it upstairs and it is very hot up there and lonely :( . I went to install a RTG that I have already played at and my username wasn't there, the pop up came up asking if I would like to create an account.

and the newbies

When people enter the world of online gaming they use up no deposit bonuses and first time match bonuses (until they learn about T/C and casinomeister) so it's not at all uncommon for people to have registered with 10+ casino's to take advantage of these. Use it once and on to the next one.
Some people also will not deposit without a bonus and go hunting for the biggest ones. Competitive bonuses IMO have been the worst thing to generate customer loyalty it's almost like a big ponzi scheme. I wonder if there's any online casino's that could survive and meet pay outs on long term players alone.

But why would you create another account if you knew 3 years ago you played at this casino? Would you not have contacted the casino for your details? Some people I know keep a spreadsheet of all the usernames and passwords they have accumulated. I don't know if anyone want to do this but I find it helpful..

What if you forgot? It was 3 years ago. :p

I have contacted casinos about forgot usernames/passwords, it's pretty easy. Yes, I have heard of people keeping a spreadsheet as well, I used to have one, but I guess it just got old, or I threw it out....ahhhh the old days, where I could play anywhere I wanted, and deposit however I wanted. But I digress.

I keep losing my sheet I have all my casinos, account numbers, user names and passwords, even when it's always in the same place, can't find it, but still a very good idea. I resorted to the same user name and password for all casinos I had played at.

Not all

Most casino's (accredited ones etc.) will understand if you make a multiple account by mistake.

Most of us genuine players that make multiple accounts as an honest mistake use our REAL names The same address and phone numbers etc etc.

All scammers/bonus abusers are usually identified by the fact they try different addresses and names etc from the same i.p address.

I was explained this when I had mistakenly made another account at an mg casino. The rep had said that since your details matched, they knew I was not out to de-fraud them. But then again I rarely take any sort of deposit bonus.

Cheers Matt

At one time I took a lot of free offers, and deposited at a few. After joining CM, I started asking if I had an account already. At one casino I had created an account, but the casino was under another name back then (was maybe 10 years ago). Now how is a player supposed to know something like that?:what:

I've always registered under my real name and real birthdate, so you would think that if these details match, they would check if it was you or not. I've only had two addresses since 1994 when I first got the internet, and only two ISPs.

And with all the Reds Sevens and Vegases and Slots etc, it's hard to remember which is which sometimes.

Not really, they never use the same IP address if they arent completely stupid.

And agreed if you use the same details the casino should know that you are an honest player who did a mistake. Altough thats not always the case, heard some horror stories over the years.

I always remember my passwords for 4 years now..if I do forget I just refer to my spreadsheet. I wasn't trying to start an argument with you maybe I do things differently being in the banking business I kept alot of passwords and usernames.

You still play at casinos you played at 4 years ago? I used to play at all different casinos, I used to LOVE playtech :( so if I ever get to play anywhere I want again, I'm screwed. I cannot remember all the places I have played at.

What argument, I was joking when I said "what if you forgot" that's why I stuck my tongue out. :p

Banking business...lots of paperwork I presume, your used to keeping track of things. I used to have that sheet, but then when things got bad for USA some got scratched off, some little pieces got thrown out, etc...
