The codes for Christmas Eve and Christmas have passed. While I appreciate the free chips, am I the only one that think JESUS and CHRIST are not the best bonus codes to use?

I do hear complaints about the meaning of the holiday being lost, but I'm interested in what others think. I know not everyone plays at Buzz Luck, and I did want to wait until the codes were expired.

I don't see any problem with it. Both relate to the Christmas holiday. To be honest I don't really care if it offends someone either. If they wanted to use the terms Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha on the Muslim holiday I would have no problem with it.

To be honest, I didn't even think about it. For the attention I paid to the actual code it could have been XYZ.

Political correctness isn't one of my strong suits though. If you think about it, they could have used any number of Christmasy type words that could have offended someone, religious or not. Depending of who chose the code words, these particular words might have had no significance to them.

IMO it doesn't matter what the codes are as long as they aren't offensive.

Jesus Christ is not offensive, except perhaps to religious zealots or people with little else to do.

Whether you believe in the whole bible thing or not, the fact is that nobody would be celebrating Christmas if it weren't for the people that do. It seems an entirely relevant code to use. I know plenty of people who think the bible and God is a load of crap, but are happy to get presents and feast and drink on the 25th December. It's very odd to be celebrating someone's birthday when you don't believe they ever existed.

I'm also certain that the casino meant no offense to anyone. I'm also sure that players who might have been offended didn't refuse to redeem the codes

I'm with Cleveland. Let's ask them to make next years codes RAMA and DAN or HANUK and KAH depending on which religion you follow, or JUST and PRESENTS for the non-believers. Better still, the casino could send out a questionnaire about what players find offensive.

Personally, I would have found them off-putting but yet I also defend anyone's right to feel that way or not.

I thought it was a little odd that they would use those in these days where you're not allowed to call a Christmas tree a Christmas tree or have to say Holiday gift instead of Christmas present or be able have a sign on your business wishing people Merry Christmas for fear of offending someone.

I personally believe in Christ so I didn't find them offensive. However, I can see why others may have. I also agree with Nifty on his reasoning, if you are celebrating CHRISTmas, you should have no issue with Christ being a part of it.

I think what Jasminebed and BB28 are refering to is the use of the words Christ, Jesus etc in regard to gambling. Gambling being frowned upon by most of Christianity today.

As I said before, the person making up the codes might not know or care that these words have a specific meaning to the Christian world. Would we have even thought about it had the words been Allah or Kwanzaa etc?

It's all in the eye of the reader, I think.

it doesn't offend me but I agree there could have been more tasteful choices.

The interesting thing is that in all my 13 years at a catholic school I never read anything in the bible about gambling being a sin. It's frowned upon by conservative Christian groups....I assume because it might cause one to have fun or enjoy oneself.

Being raised a Southern Baptist, I can understand the 'unease' with the use of these words in regard to gambling. It's all in how you look at it.

Christmas is actually a pagan holiday anyone. Jesus was actually born in the summer, probably July. Just saying.

You may or may not be right, but given neither of us were there, the logical thing would be to celebrate it on December 25th with everyone else.

I'm not sure how a celebration of the birth of the son of god could be considered paganistic. I think you're way off there.

Personally I found it pleasantly refreshing that they chose to use those particular codes. I am so tired of the way over the top politically correct crap. However, I did find it interesting in live chat with that casino when I wished the CSR a "Merry Christmas" the response I got was "Happy Holidays".

lol.. that's funny. Cause the bonus code CHRIST is probably because of all the merry christmas vs happy holidays bickering. Guess support didn read the memo
I don't understand whats the big deal with those wishes btw.
Normally you would say happy holidays if it's not christmas yet.. and Merry christmas when it it.. so 25th december.
And yeah gambling itself isn't a major sin. Greed is though. Opposite of greed is Charity.
You know you could have given the money to a beggar so he could go get his fix.

I love them sins. Especially Pride
In almost every list, pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris, is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self
Excessive love of self..
Some fool on dutch television, worked or used to work for a christian network. Always telling people how great god is. Then he has some new tattoo and keeps flaunting it, like putting his hand behind his head so people can see his tattoo on his arm. BURN in hell!!!!! :D

Thanks Anniemac, was an interesting read.....much of it I knew but a few points I didn't.

In addition, most wine and beer made during the year was finally fermented and ready for drinking.

I knew there was a reason that the meister liked this season.....lol

Well, not me, not at Buzzluck. I missed the code for NY Eve however.

I did manage a cashout Christmas Eve at Clubworld, and another NY Days at Aladdin's Gold I believe. So sincerely thanks for all the play, and the nice and prompt cashouts!

I would like to know how many won from using the codes?

I made playthrough on a couple of them over Christmas but didn't really have enough to cash out. I got one withdrawal from the New Years chip at High Noon but it hasn't been processed yet, I checked with chat yesterday and they said the cashier was catching up after the holidays. Hope they get to it soon, that's my play money for the month!
